  • That binging for weeks and then starving for weeks was a legitimate diet regime, despite never losing weight.
  • I think traditionally you would boil it in a pan until the oats have soaked up all the fluid and it has a creamy texture. I can't stand the stuff made with water though, fair play to you! I eat mine with cinnamon, or peanut butter and cherry jam, or with a sprinkle of crunchy oats and agave syrup - I love the stuff!
  • When I log, I log everything, otherwise there really is no point to logging at all! I even logged a week of binges, about 4-5 days of 5000+ calories each day, I needed to see it to see what damage I was doing to myself.
  • Rowing - I thought I was quite fit until I took up rowing and then realised I KNEW NOTHING! I think technique is key to get the most out of it, if you have good technique, and erg properly, a 2K test kills, doing a 30 minute piece takes some serious strength - I found my core quickly tightening up and felt like a machine…
  • Haven't logged in 2/3 months - and also one girl who was disordered eating and kept posting statuses about it - she didn't want to listen to people's healthy suggestions and was really triggering, so for my own health, I deleted her.
  • Pink lady, Braeburn or Cox... maybe a Gala... and to think I only used to eat Golden delicious.. Just wish apples hadn't gone crazy in price, £2 for 4..... that's expensive!
  • Not a great body shot, but the only bikini photo I have currently! This was about 15lbs ago! I don't have a bikini now, the next holiday I'm going on is Whale watching in Alaska, but i'll be sure to post a picture in base layers! lol
  • Not sensitive at all, just sensible. I think the title alone is enough to warrant a 'how about not bashing skinny people' reply, particularly as I didn't turn it around and do the '#^@%&* Fat Co-Workers' approach. Whatever, I still stand by what I said, focusing all that negativity from 'skinny co-workers' and applying it…
  • And you can find it here, just don't skinny hate! It's just the same as fat hating. I'm 'skinny' now, and it takes me a lot of hard work to stay this way and I sometimes talk about what I have to do to stay skinny, I'd hate to think that someone was bashing me for it. Forget about what they're doing and focus on what you…
  • I have all of this in my cupboard! Wahoo! Gonna try this on the weekend. I don't like honey so am going to substitute it for Agave nectar!
  • My calves are crazy too, and even at some of my lowest weights they never shrank, completely not fair! My biggest weight was 175, so I guess I wasn't that big. But I have got some loose skin, particularly at the tops of my thighs, my knees and my stomach... I think only so I can notice, no one has ever mentioned it and…
  • 34DD to 32B - not impressed. I'm now working on eating more and doing more weights/less cardio and i'd say they're a 34C and a good shape/height, I could be happy if they stay like this!
  • http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ Use this for a more... tailored (?) calorie goal! I was put on an automatic 1200 which for my height/weight wasn't a good number, I got quite sickly from it - after using scooby to figure out my TDEE I now eat at least 1500 a day, and tailor it to what I'm hoping to achieve…
  • I think it's definitely good to try and be realistic with your goals. I was so disillusioned when I hit goal because I couldn't believe that I didn't look like all of those people who I'd used as 'thinspiration' - massive deep depression for a good few months because I hadn't magically grown a few inches taller and shaved…
  • Awesome observation! It's probably a fetishist...(no, seriously) I used to be on a parenting forum where a guy had a thing about pregnant lady bumps and had about a hundred different accounts. He would start so many 'post your bump' threads and then reply to his own posts to keep the conversation moving. He'd steal…
  • Another vote for Jennifer Lawrence! Her body is actually curvy in the right way and completely attainable! That and we're the same shape, so I'm not being completely unrealistic.
  • You've got some great advice here, and I don't have much more to add other than the fact that I can relate massively. I'm exactly the same height as you (but have quite a large frame) and my goal was always 125lbs, I did it, and hit goal but still hated the way I looked, I was flabby and unfit and still looked fat. Because…
  • Am signing up for the South West 22nd Sept one with my brother in law. I'm really excited, but then completely petrified about anything with water (I can't really swim) so have my work cut out for me there! I have 9 months to train, so no pressure yet, and would say that I'm pretty fit, but I have like zero upper body…
  • None of my family or friends are into fitness at all, so I often feel like this! (well, one runs, but she's 300 miles away!) The things that have helped me have been going to fitness classes (body conditioning, pilates and nike training club) a lot of the people are the same, so although we're not friends, we chat and…
  • Snap! (Almost) I was desperate to be a doctor for a very long time, and am now a law student. Although I'm on the Medico Legal association committee so I get to spend a lot of time researching medical dilemmas.
  • Did a 5k today and after feeling pretty awful for the past two days 2k's I took it quite easy. I'm glad I finished but a 2.30 split is pretty terrible considering my 5k PB is 2.11! We have a 5k test for rowing club next week and I have no idea how I'm to get back in shape by then! Stupid flu has put me back about 3 weeks…
  • I would say that I'm a pear/hourglass and I didn't find it too difficult getting abs. So I do think genetics is the major factor! I'm 5ft6.5 and have a relatively long torso and I wasn't even attempting abs when they happened. Granted, more like pictures 1 and 3, but I wouldn't want picture 2's abs anyway. I wasn't eating…
  • Haven't spoken Welsh in years and the only things I remember without prompt are 'rwi'n hoffi coffi' 'Dwi'n un deg pump oed' (despite ageing 13 years since then) and 'esgidiau du' - they'll do me well in life! lol
  • My name is Elle... just like the letter, magazine and character in Legally Blonde. I was at a Starbucks in D.C. and despite saying my name three times AND saying 'like the letter' my latte had 'Owl' written on the cup. Owl.
  • Went to school in Wales and did my Welsh GCSE if that counts! lol
  • I have adidas cross trainers for gym going, cycling and rowing and then a pair of New Balance Vibrams running shoes for running specifically. If you want shoes just for walking, invest in a decent pair of walking boots! They don't have to be expensive but the added support will help keep your walks comfortable. If you plan…
  • About two years ago, just before I hit goal weight. I stopped taking pictures just after when the novelty of hitting goal wore off! lol Gonna take some new ones in my sexy all-in-one lycra rowing outfit soon though... whoop!
  • Signed up! A few of my crew are planning on doing a 31 days of rowing challenge (erg something everyday!) which I really want to do, so that's my goal! I can't participate on 1st/2nd because i'm still at home for the holidays, but from the 3rd, it's so on and I can't wait!
  • Any tips on rowing feet out whilst on water? We were steaming through a 2k the other day when my feet popped out of the shoes (they were 2 sizes too small!) and I just couldn't keep my legs straight! I ended up just sitting and trying to row with my arms! Our coach had a bit of a scream at me when I explained, and made…
  • Interesting reading, I'm finding that my breathing technique is probably my biggest hindrance at progressing right now. I tend to exhale through the drive (huffing like a train sounds about right!) and inhale through recovery, but I always end up trying to match my stroke rate to my breathing and eventually one is going…
