  • Thanks ladies... gonna have to dig out those B cups again I guess...
  • I'm eating a lot, roughly 22-2400 calories a day, so I don't think it's calories. I probably didn't make my question more clear, it just seems that all I have read about IF and lean gains and strength training tell you to limit cardio or don't mention it at all. So I'm not sure if it's even possible to gain strength,…
  • I started MFP at 1200 (but eating exercise calories, which was just occasional walks, nothing intense) at 160lbs, quickly dropped to 125lbs (goal weight) but was majorly skinny fat and bordering on ill. I'm now NETTING 18-2000cals a day (I don't log anymore but do occasionally to see what my numbers are) and workout six…
  • 0.67 - Waist 25.5" - Hips 38"
  • I missed all of the weekend bonfires and displays due to other commitments, so I'm glad I still get to see something tonight! I think it's the whole thing of getting wrapped in layers, eating toffee apples and treacle and cinder toffee and having sparklers, whilst huddling around a bonfire with your friends to keep warm…
  • Saw 'It' as a child and that was pretty horrific, but the one that I think is most scarring is Return to Oz! What a horrible and disturbing movie!
  • I really DO want children - but not at any cost. I don't have a partner and am just embarking on a law degree and hope to go into practice (i'll be 31 when i graduate) which means I would be around 35-40 before I could realistically consider taking a break from a new law career. Add in to the fact that I'm not financially…
  • I love the UK a lot, and I missed it when I lived in Florida, but I would love to live over there again, just for the weather! Being an outdoorsy type is very difficult when it rains about 300 days of the year! (That and I'd be closer to NYC!)
  • It might sound ignorant of me to say this, but having travelled a lot, knowing that everyone would speak at least to a basic English level was very comforting and convenient. I also think it makes sense that there be at least one common language (if it wasn't for English being the most common language then this could…
  • EM2LW is 'eat more to lose weight', it basically means having a smaller deficit than being thrown straight down to the 1200 minimum that MFP gives most people. If you search for the group and look at the first few sticky threads then you'll get a much more in-depth explanation as to what they are. TDEE - is the 'total…
  • It was so cold, windy and wet so there weren't many kids out! Which is lucky really as I'd bought no sweets for them, knowing full well i'd eat the majority, just like last year when I did buy loads and no one turned up!
  • Just the one cup of coffee... that's all I need. I think it's just one of those things that can't be a blanket statement, your point is too exclusive and doesn't fit a good chunk of people. You CAN have just carbs (although as someone else pointed out, there is protein in milk) I think my usual breakfast has about 9g of…
  • I agree with what you say - except for your first statement! You CAN have just carbs for breakfast. I always start the day with a coffee, banana and bowl of porridge, usually with dried fruit in it adding to it's carbiness and it never did me any harm in losing weight!
  • I always keep enough room in my daily diet for a hot chocolate and a mini chocolate bar! It gives me something to look forward to throughout the day and stops me going on massive sugar binges because I'm not denying myself a little treat!
  • I got rid of mine about two years ago when I went to college and LOVE the fact that I'm not longer tied to regular programming and keeping up to date with shows. I watch a movie a week because of my Lovefilm subscription (it's free with my bank account) and download Criminal Minds and Castle and that's it for me! BBC news…
  • Last time I had my BF% checked was around last year and it was at 21%, that was at my leanest though (and smallest of boob! lol) I put about 10lbs of fat on over the past year and went from a small B to a decent C... I did want to lose fat and gain muscle, hence not eating at a deficit and fitting in as much strength…
  • It's hard to help without a few other details, such as exercise and what you're eating! 37% BF seems awfully high for a 150lb woman at 5ft7... I'd definitely start with weight training, you can achieve a lot through relatively short sessions as long as you're aiming to lift heavy. It also helps to eat more protein and cut…
  • I think all those suggesting that if you have nothing nice to say, not to say anything are missing the point. Mentioning that the poster has gone a little too far or might want to try and stay in a healthy range isn't unkind. And i'm speaking from experience. I got really quite thin at the height of my weight loss, my hair…
  • Gatwick... for some reason whenever I go anywhere far away and exciting, we go out of Gatwick! I've spent so much time there that it feels like home. Also, Oman airport was pretty cool, it's in the middle of the desert and has great views, it's also really clean and spacious, and had this kids soft play area that was great…
  • You'd hate my gym then! It's a university gym so it's always full, every machine is being used and everyone is competing with everyone! I love it... i've never felt so motivated in my life! Stare at my machines all you want... And sometimes, my goals are to raise my heart rate a little, not become breathless, there's a…
  • Eating too much? That's a new one that I hadn't considered. I'm about 130 right now, and am definitely not bulking. I probably burn about 4-600 cals a day on top of my regular routine through exercise, which as my BMR is 1650 puts me about right on 2 - 2500. Maybe I should do my scooby figures again just to see where I'm…
  • I ditched the bus pass and now cycle everywhere (even up the massive hills!) I paid for the platinum membership at the gym, which means I now have the luxury of picking any class that I want as it's included in the price, so do Nike training club, Total Body conditioning and also Pilates twice a week. I joined rowing club,…
  • Just because I had been logging for almost two years and now believe that I'm at a point where I can legitimately estimate my intake, I'm eating all the things that I was eating when logging (1800cals was my goal) but now use full fat butter, semi skimmed milk (as opposed to skimmed) and cook with oils instead of sprays.…
  • I was really worried before doing the 500's because I wanted to get it right and really knock down my splits. It did go ok, I went to a different gym where I was rowing in front of a mirror so I could really focus on my technique which I think helped! The two 500's were 1. 2:17 with a rate of 26 and 2. 2:14 with a rate of…
  • I don't think it is more expensive for the majority.... but when you're cooking for one, have very limited food storage space and don't have set, regular meal times, it IS expensive.
  • I hope so! I peeked at the senior crews scores and they're averaging 2:05 - but they've had a years more practice than me! We're out on the water tomorrow and then have more erg session on Sunday, just 2x500m though so I'm going to really push it and see if I can get under the 2:30's! I couldn't imagine an effortless 7.4k+…
  • Moving more! I used to have days and days where I would barely leave the house, my biggest exercise would be going to the local shop for more chocolate so I don't think that counts! Now I'm always moving! Between fitness classes, cycling to Uni, going to the gym, rowing and just general walking, there's never a day where…
  • It's really hard to stay motivated; expect this to be the hardest thing that you'll ever do and then get on with it. I know that sounds ludicrous, but it's the only thing that kept me going - knowing that it was going to be hard but if I kept on ploughing on, one step at a time, then I would eventually get where I wanted…
