Because women can't stop comparing themselves to other women.
I know. I am one.0 -
I have a long way to go before I understand your kind.0

That's what. -She0 -
I'm 9'4" so not exactly what you're looking for but close enough. My weight loss goal is 123.7 pounds exactly.0

Because we're 1) wanting to make sure we're being realistic in our goal and 2) we're plain nosy and want to see if we measure up to what other people think of as normal.0
-
Because MOST people feel the need to have their decisions validated. I come up with a number I want to be, but I need to know if that number is 'ok' with others, instead of thinking for yourself. Group mentality. When I told people my goal weight they said "oh, that's too thin, you'll look horrible"...I'm not too thin nor do I look horrible. But I never listen to everyone else, march to the beat of my own drummer...0

Jokes aside, I think it's less to do with being a sheep and more to do with seeing what you might look like at a certain weight. It would be unrealistic of me to look to 5ft8 women to see what they look like at my goal weight, whereas someone at 5ft6.5 (it totally matters) will give me a better idea of what i'll look like at such a weight, even better if they have the same frame that I do!0
