One thing that really helps me is that I always bring a dish to share, thus giving me something to fall back on when the non healthy alternatives fill the table. I make this carrot dip (middle eastern) and it is so delicious and everyone seems to love it because it is different.

12 pounds is nothing to sneeze at, you should be proud!
-
Maybe this will help... just change the IMG to img at the beginning and end.

You look great, channelling a little bit of Ryan Gosling I think.

I am very open about my quest to regain my health and friends, family and coworkers know that I have been putting forth a huge amount of effort to meet my goals. I do not worry about offending anybody by not taking their cookie, homemade grandma's famous cake etc. because if you are going to be upset about MY choice to eat…

The last few races I have been to, there is always chocolate milk at the finish line...yummy. I want a shirt that says I run for the chocolate milk.

Congrats and what a great dress!

A tough story to write and one that could inspire many or even just one person that has experienced similar challenges. I really appreciated your story because I think of how much pain was behind my fat. Sure I eat healthy and exercise but it has been the internal/mental/emotional work with a counsellor that has really…

I know some poeple diss the BMI, but lets face it I'm not a body builder or an extreme athlete so it's a pretty good benchmark for me. I remember being a 46.6 BMI (morbidly obese) and now am a 28.3 and those numbers mean something to me, sometimes more than the actual scale losses. Keep up the great work!!!

Your body's way of thank you, great job!

I like that mini-hulk, next you'll be squatting more than your brother...

Way to go, and strike that pose, you deserve it!

That is a killer blue dress, all I could think of was devil in a blue dress. You look fabulous!

I love reading posts like this because this is my dream...next year I am hoping to complete the Victoria Half Marathon on Thanksgiving weekend. I can totally relate to how it feels to go from barley running for 2 minutes without huffing and puffing to just settling in for the distance (I'm only up to 15km). Great job and a…

Welcome to Onderland, it looks simply fabulous on you. Great job!

Great job despite all the obstacles and think of all the possibilities in 2013 with your surgeries behind you.

Another vote for rowing, amazing workout. I've also discovered stand-up paddle boarding and it is quite the workout (arms, back and core),
-
I tried to sign up but it was already sold out, instead I'm doing a race the last week of January.

It depends on the workout, any run under 8km and before 9am I prefer not to eat and will have oatmeal afterwards. A longer run and after 9am I'll have a small breakfast toast, peanut butter, and a banana.
