My thoughts exactly.

So true. I am starting to head down the same road as I make like minded friends on MFP.

Hey not true- 15 miller lites is only 1500 calories! The monks invented beer as a meal replacement and it works quite well. I have had a few Friday or Saturday liquid dinners.
-
That is my response as well. I eat what I want, just not the quantity I want. If I want to eat more, I burn more calories that day.
-
I can't stand that one either. NO it is not easy. It's called discipline.
-
Absolutely stunning! Great accomplishment. I have been lifting/healthy eating for 30 years. I can fully appreciate the amount of effort and discipline required to obtain that level of fitness.

A lot. At least two protein shakes with whole milk. Three cups of coffee. Two tees. Three nights a week 5-7 beers. Adjust how much I eat based on calories burned throughout the day to stay under calorie limit.

I eat a lot of fat in the morning- bacon n sausage every day. Usually a protein shake with whole milk too. Low glycemic carbs. This gives me a flat blood sugar level for the day. Hunger is just low blood sugar caused by not eating enough, or more likely eating high glycemic carbs that cause insulin spike and lower blood…

Control your insulin release. All the rest is easy in comparison. Insulin rips off muscle mass faster than you can replace it. I wish I knew that years ago. Now that I avoid insulin spikes, it is easy to retain muscle mass.

Men in general are more blunt and to the point in saying what they want. I would not assume that these comments are intended to hurt, demeaning, negative, etc. If he truly did not like you, he would not tell you his real feelings towards you and give you a chance to change (sounds bad). But like it or not, relationships…

Tried that for a few months. Works great for strength training, losing fat and retaining muscle. However, for intense cardio- running, swimming, and spinning- need sugar during exercise or impossible to complete. Thus, I now time when I eat the fruit. Banana just when entering the gym. Banana and apple before a run or bike…

Oh do I know what you are talking about. It took me about a year to get over an IT band injury-which happened during my 6th marathon. I now stretch everything in my legs daily after working out, not before, and with perfect form. I just noticed an irritating pain in my arch when I get to about the 3rd mile. I now have to…

I have to get to about 1 hour before it kicks in. No better drug.

Beer does not have to go. Beer was invented by the monks as a replacement for bread. It is an excellent source of nutrients, ethanol and carbs. Beer is not high in carbs. Bread, potatoes, and rice are far higher in carbs. I have been steadily losing fat and gaining muscle with my diet, which includes beer many times a…

Hi- don't need heavy protein- just right type of protein at the right time. After a heavy workout- where the muscles fibers are torn due to taking them past failure-is when you need the complete protein profile in your bloodstream. At about 1 hour before lifting heavy- eat whey protein (no sugar)- avoid spiking your…

I try to get to 20% below my tdee as well. But most of the time I am probably closer to 10% below. How much fat (sorry about the bluntness) are you trying to shed? Women can get ripped at about 12% body fat- guys need closer to 8%.

Yes- I was forced to take 8 weeks off of heavy lifting from a hernia operation. Worst 8 weeks of my life. I like to lift heavy-low reps. I was always on the thin side. I also do a little of cardio-run 6 miles three days a week. This is the first time cutting in which i am micromanaging my food, energy, strength, and fat…
-
Yea- wishful thinking. I have been lifting for 30 years. Each time I cut fat, lost muscle too. This is the first time I actually gained muscle while cutting fat.

Figure out what about the pizza you crave. I realized what I craved most- the burnt cheese. Take some cheese, put it on a pan and burn it in the oven. I know it sound gross, but the flavor stops the craving. I quit flour about a month ago. The cravings for bread, dough, etc. eventually go away. Now I crave cheese and meat…

Most- high glycemic foods- especially flour, starch (except sweet potatoes), sugar, syrups-I just feel like crap after eating any of them. When I have a sugar craving I eat some honey, usually with a protein such as zero fat greek yogurt.

Me too!

I think I know what you mean about the feeling hungover and tired. I get that same feeling when I eat high glycemic carbs, white bread, (or any bread for me), starchy foods, sweets, corn sweetners. If I eat these bad carbs at night (like a pizza or pasta) I wake up with a hangover like headache. If I eat them earlier in…

Awesome.

I been through this. Keep protein ratio same, i.e. high at 40-50% of calories. Vary carbs n fat % to see what works for you. I find when the carbs are higher than 20% I get hunger pains. Today I ate 2200 calories, with less than 100 grams carbs, no hunger pains, lots of energy. Yesterday, I ate way to many carbs, energy…

WTFN?

Got it- will stick with heavy lifting, perfect form, low reps, and keep cardio to three days of 5-8 mile runs. Will also try mix of 25% carbs, 30% fat, 45% protein as daily food goals, deficit of 500-1000cal daily until fat level reached.
-
Will look into DPT. I pretty much have come to the same conclusion you stated, cardio three days a week, 5-8 mile run max. Already do heavy weight, low reps with free weights- great strength results when I eat sufficient calories. Trying to get where you are in your picture- ripped mass. Thanks.

Hi- I forgot to mention I weight lift old school free weights. Present bench is 255, when it drops below 225 during cutting, I quit the diet.
