  • @stephaniesu I'd see someone if I were you. My baby was also a sleepless one who woke every 2-3 hours to feed and had other sleep problems later in his babyhood leading to me getting only 2-5 hours broken sleep a night, every night. However, I never had the constant pain that you describe. A baby that wakes is normal. A…
  • Melbourne here! :-D I log every day.
  • I came on here weighing ~137lbs at 5'3" with the goal of losing 15 lbs. I am here now at 122 lbs. I did this by eating twice as much as you, around 1500 a day (in 5-6 meals a day).
  • I put on something like 10lbs when I started my desk job. Not only can you not walk away from the goodies that are plonked on meeting desk behind you, but sometimes you greatly reduce your activity too (going from a 'on my feet all day' to 'on my bum all day' job). I plan my whole day before I go to work, bring everything…
  • 1.) There are not really very many women who will eat exactly 1200 and experience a STEADY, HEALTHY weight loss. That's like expecting to choose a shoe sized 8 and expecting all women to be able to walk comfortably in it. You are taller than the average woman, ergo you will need to eat a higher amount of calories. SOME…
  • I have cooked 100% of dinners for myself and my now husband over 15 years and I'm 32 years old. I also pack his breakfast and lunch on days that he works probably 50% of the time. It used to be higher but we have a preschooler now. If I don't pack it, he either forgets to eat or buys his food from the nearest fast food…
  • I think I might be at the end of any advice I can give you. I am your height, but I'm 13 years older than you and some days I eat close to twice as much as you. My 3 year old eats 1000 cals some days. I'm at my goal weight now (~120lbs) and focusing on body composition rather than numbers on the scale. As far as I know,…
  • Hi I think you have some numbers wrong too. Your BMR should be higher than that based on your age? I would think it would be 1300+. What you need to do is to keep a SMALL deficit whilst doing everything you can to hang onto your lean muscle mass. You need to eat more protein and use those muscles. Reduce the…
  • I didn't lose many pounds (about 8lbs) at all but I was the very definition of skinny fat. I have photos in my profile after doing 30DS. Lost HEAPS of inches and much more toned though. Good luck.
  • I use them in Asian cooking all the time. They are a good substitute for vermicelli or mung bean noodles, or used in delicate soups. Edit: They are made from the konjac yam which is mainly non-digestible carbohydrate (fibre)
  • My son and I might not be here if not for the smart people at his birth
  • I have PCOS with mildly elevated insulin and I have controlled it since I started on MFP. However I wasn't really overweight, just 'skinny fat', one of those strange PCOS--ers that have all the symptoms (hair, acne, irregular periods, skewed hormonal profile, and obviously, +++ovarian cysts) but not overweight. Just very…
  • I'd just do an average TDEE for the week (1880) and eat 15-25% (1400-1600) below that every day. It won't do you damage to be over one day and under the next. It all evens out in the end. Just be sure to re-evaluate when things change (e.g. weight if significant, TDEE if your activity changes significantly).
  • Sigh. I was skinny fat before I started this 4 months ago. 5ft 3, 137lbs and a BMI of 24.3. <---- within 'healthy normal range' for a woman. BF% using various calculators, scales, etc: 33% <Eeek! When I started on MFP I hid my calorie counting and exercising from my friends and family (except for my husband). When I…
  • I used to read these threads avidly and nod along, and then one day after I had my son, I realised that I'm hopefully going to be someone else's mother in law in the future. Why focus on the people you can't change? It's a waste of time and energy. I'd rather focus on improving myself and making sure that I'm not going to…
  • That sounds like way too little food for the amount of exercise you are doing. Your BMR would be about 1200-1250 alone (i.e. if you were in a coma and never got out of bed). Throw some snacks in to your day, put some protein in your lunch. And because you're only 14 lbs away from your goal, I'd suggest having a realistic…
  • Hello I just wanted to say Happy 1st birthday to the new you. :flowerforyou: You're my hero because you are the same height as me, similar workout routine and I hope to achieve the same results in roughly 265 days, LOL. Can I ask, did you find it steady going or did you lose heaps more in the beginning? Did you start out…
  • I've just finished 30DS over 2 months as I have been doing it only 3-4 times per week, mixing it up with cardio. Very happy with results. Not a huge amount of weight but many inches (>10). Amazing, I am definitely a Jillian fan now.
  • 1000 thread count cotton sheets.
  • Add cinammon and stevia to your oatmeal if you like it sweet without sugar. I find I am much more likely to eat well if I have planned what to bring and eat that, rather than just buying something at work. I also plan my grocery shops with a list etc so I don't come home with rubbish. Oh, and I never go shopping when I'm…
  • Plan plan plan Make your breakfast and lunch the night before and pack it. Log it too, so there are no surprises when you come home - you will know exactly how much you've eaten. There are HEAPS of foods you can bring that can be eaten cold or microwaved. Breakfast: refrigerator porridge. Cereal + low fat milk, smoothies…
  • http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/26182/chocolate+tofu+mousse Halve the recipe for 4 serves if you only have 1 packet of tofu?
  • I have an Android phone and I use one called Libra, it's quite good with stats and predictions of when I'll reach goal etc.
  • Definitely garlic bread! Especially when it is drowning in garlic butter. and the other day I had HALF an almond croissant. That might be my last, ever. I can't believe there can be over half a day's calories in something that isn't even a meal.
  • Hello, this happens to me too. The whole 'weigh just once a week' doesn't work for me because it depends what week as to where I am up to with the cycle. I get two peaks in fluid weight - mid cycle, and just before my period. I weigh daily and plot it all on an app which gives me trend lines etc - that way I don't get…
  • My DH notices and comments but then he knows how much effort I put in, and he gets to see me naked, so I'd be pretty bummed if he didn't notice or comment. My friends and coworkers who I see every day, nope. My in laws who see me a couple of times a week no (MIL kept marveling at a mutual friend who had lost 7kg which was…
  • Melbourne! :drinker:
  • Yes this most definitely happened to me. It was just as you say - cottage cheese like, 'squishy fat'. UGH! But it did go away after a week or two. Keep going!
  • Thanks GauchoMark. I guess my expectations are skewed because I lost the first 12lbs so quickly (because I didn't know to eat back exercise cals, and was on 1200 cals). So it feels like my weight loss has stalled but I guess it's just really slowed off to a more realistic pace. I appreciate everyone's help. :flowerforyou:
  • I'm Asian and have a small frame. Started off being the walking definition of skinny fat, BF around 30%, now body fat is about 24% based on various calculators. I seem to be gaining and losing the same one to two pounds over and over the past few weeks, so I'm not sure if I should eat less, eat the same, or eat more. Am…
