  • Is there a good CrossFit gym in Bangalore, out of interest? We have a big office there and I might need to travel some time.
  • 20 to 30 strokes per minute for a marathon?! Good lord... I wouldn't go over 22 s/m for that sort of distance :D
  • Yay! Thanks for the FR too :)
  • Change of plans: individualised programming costs as much as the CF membership, so I'd be spending £160 per month (that's $250), so I'm throwing that idea out and looking at specialist powerlifting gyms in stead.
  • Yes, benchmarks ;)
  • I have a holiday booked to Iceland for next year! Looks like a beautiful place
  • Regarding the damper setting, you can set it optimally for you by monitoring the drag factor. On a concept2 there are some buttons you can press to display the drag factor. Row normally, and then adjust the damper until you get the drag factor you want. We normally aim for 110-115 Aaaaaand I've just noticed the small print…
  • So I have been talking to the head coach. I feel like I get enough cardio in my rowing outings and I want something different from CrossFit. I'm going to drop my membership to 2 classes per week in stead of unlimited classes (I can still attend open gym unlimited), and then use the money saved to get help from the head…
  • Could not care less what my Fran time is. Box I'm currently at doesn't program it. Reason being that some people can finish Fran in under 5 minutes, some can take as long as 20 min. Works fine as a benchmark. Doesn't really work as a training programme.
  • Hello! Does anyone still use this group? Took me a while to find it but thought I'd join. I row in a women's coxed VIII 3x a week plus 1x ergs in Cambridge, UK. I'm also a Crossfitter which I do 3x per week.
  • I won't lie, I am finding it really stressful.
  • ^^ I would move to Edinburgh in a heartbeat, lovely city 31 Childless Partner-less (I'm a picky, sensitive, defensive, untrusting a**hole :s ) One cat B) Based in Cambridge, UK Been doing Crossfit since January 2014 and am actually considering switching to pure powerlifting and competing (I want to compete but I suck too…
  • Heat? What's that? Rarely goes over 25C here, on a good day. Plus I do 6.30am classes
  • I've been doing a lot of cooking in bulk too lately but it takes up most of my Sunday, and this weekend for example I won't have a Sunday for it to take up...
  • I'm with bethlivi (mostly) on this one. Paleo is a non-starter for me. In the past I've lasted about a day before I give in to cravings. Fruit and root veggies (aside from sweet potatoes) might be mostly carbs but they aren't good fuel sources. I think that's to do with fibre content. I think that it's historically been…
  • So how do you combine this with Eat To Perform? I know plenty of people do but it always seems like a lot of sweet potato to me.
  • ^^ B)
  • Maybe it's because I can't yet do enough DU's for it to happen? But I've never had it on singles. I WOD first thing in the morning so I usually haven't had any liquids besides an espresso... It's more likely to happen when I sneeze
  • I've never had this issue doing Crossfit... Jumping on a trampoline half drunk though, happened to me big time
  • Saaaaaaame! God I love the prog only pill.
  • I've got this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nike-Mens-Brasilia-Small-Duffel/dp/B00DBKO89U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432024106&sr=8-1&keywords=nike+gym+bag I find you can never really go wrong with Nike. It has two shoe compartments, one has breathable mesh but the other doesn't, and enough room for a towel, change of clothes,…
  • You know what, I love bulky. I wish I'd kept track of the number of women who have said "I don't want to get bulky" and 3 months later they're taking pictures of their back muscles in the mirror and putting them on instagram. It's something we (women particularly) have to EARN with hard work and dedication, and it's…
  • They might not be very comfortable @bostonwolf - the rock guards are probably your best trade off for comfort v. protection
  • Imogen, you have done so well, you should be very proud of yourself :)
  • I literally want to pull my hair out when I see my MFP friends talking about trying to lift but feeling really tired, or saying they are feeling really hungry but they will still go for a run, that they can't gain muscle whilst losing fat because they're in a 900 cal deficit etc. There's also a guy who weighs himself EVERY…
  • I have been doing it 3 months now, I'm pretty consistent but not 100% as sometimes social engagements mean you just have to forget it. I've lost a little bit of scale weight, not a huge amount, but I do feel stronger, recover faster and am starting to see muscle definition. The last couple of days I've been hungry despite…
  • Yep, keep it consistent.
  • This. Depends on volume of box jumps and on how my legs are feeling. I often find step ups more tiring on the glutes but definitely a safer option. Sorry but a bruised shin bone or a destroyed achilles is NOT my aim when exercising. Seriously, why would you put yourself at risk of damage and infection just for the sake of…
  • I switched boxes too and yes, new one is far less social than old one. And I DO really miss it. Without the community of CrossFit I'm just another single cat lady who works too much. I literally do EVERYTHING on my own.
  • Creatine also helps muscular recovery. One of the most proven supplements on the market.
