Am in providing I can dig out a light weight :)
-
Yup, when I (first) started running 3 years ago I used it and it worked just fine :) As peeps above have said follow the plan and don't be afraid to repeat a week if it's hard (or jump a week if it's too easy).

4.09 mile run today.

Yesterday I ran (I use that term loosely) for 4 miles before a walk break and today did 5 sets of pushups totaling 130. (25/30/20/15/40).

^^this And yes, at the start this was treated as an auxiliary exercise but now it's getting serious and more rest is required before/after. Week 6, Day 1, Col 1. 25/30/20/15/40 (130). The last 5 of the final set literally had me on my knees but preferred that to not finishing the minimum maximum (how's that for an…

hehe looks can be deceiving lol

Today I 'ran' 5 miles and managed 4 before a walk break (NSV).

5.18 mile run today and managed 4 miles before my first walk break (NSV).

Your back tattoo looks a lot different, almost as if you have grown taller - well done and happy first birthday.
-
No need to say sorry ;) Did you miss me? 5.09 miles today makes my total 31.18/50

I cut my own hair (well shave to #3) and on more than one occasion have slipped and ended up shaving everything off.

Hi Di, did you know 53 is the new 33? (as a 53yr old I believe it lol). There is lots of good advice/help on this site and (if you didn't already know) some not so helpful stuff - but all good fun. My goal was to lose 1 stone, almost accomplished but happy with the results so on a bit of a weight gain plan now :)
-
Just completed the end of week 5 exhaustion test and now think doing it after a 5 mile jog wasn't my wisest ever decision lol. 46 max which puts me in either Col 1 of week 6 (just) or Col3 if I repeat week 5 - shall have a think in my day off tomorrow.
-
5.09 mile run today (am starting to log the tenths as they might make up a mile at the end of the month lol).
-
Surely 42 isn't the answer to everything?
-
Will do mine tomorrow as well then so lets both aim for Col 2 :)
-
Well done you! Week 3 Day 3 Col 1 following the week 5 plan. 13,13,15,15,12,12,10, 33 max (Tot = 123). Not overly happy with dropping to col1 for day 3 and still maxed out at 33. Another exhaustion test Sun/Mon and that will tell me if I need to do week 5 again or move on to Week 6 (46 minimum pushups to start it). Enjoy…

OK, will type this slowly :) The previous time to weighed yourself was it on a hard surface (preferable) or a carpeted surface (not a good idea). If it was a hard surface then you can die with happiness :)
-
Didn't you read the replies?
-
There ya go, different surfaces, always weigh yourself at the same time, in the same (or lack of) attire and ON THE SAME PLACE. Sorted :)
-
'Ran' 75% of my 4 mile run today without a walk break.
-
Well done you! and a BIG thanks for allowing us to share your pain ;)
-
Another 4 miles today and should be back 'in the lime' tomorrow :)
-
Sorry to hear that and yes, take things easy and don't 'push' too much till your better ;) Now that sounds scary! Welcome aboard and not following a plan on 100 pushups in 6 weeks then? http://www.hundredpushups.com/#sthash.av5ddeFH.dpbs

Week5 Day2 Col2 18/18/20/20/14/14/16/30 (150) The Max rep only met Col 1's minimum so will move down to col1 for Day3 I think. Interestingly in the previous day I totaled 153 pushups so it would appear less sets and more reps is easier?
-
Yup, a C25K plan sounds good and whilst the plan says 3 days/week you can chop and change. I've started running again and this time around rather than trying to run faster every time I go out I'm trying to run slower - it might seem hard to run at 5mph but is helping me improve my endurance. My current best is 2.6 miles…
-
Well done you and everybody else on this journey :) am actually looking forward to tomorrow and 8 sets as the first 7 are lower reps (and if I tell myself that enough times I may even believe it lol).

Runners here may have read 'Born to Run' . The Tarahumara ate dry Chia seeds whilst they ran 100's of miles with no other sustenance.
-
I got a packet in the summer to add them to my water whilst running, kind of like drinking tadpoles but helped my stitch and this thread reminded me I had them so might try adding a tbsp to my morning shake :)

Bald Eagle - that's special :)
