Well done Mikey! I think I'm going really well and then just collapse with very little warning (maybe 2 push-ups). Am sure you'll soon be looking back to today and seeing how far you have come :) Woohoo cmeirun - 161 push-ups in a session, I bet you didn't think you'd be able to do so much so soon?
-
Yup, they certainly add up in the final weeks but gonna do another exhaustion test sometime cos am still maxing out at 60 even when fresh.
-
^^This. Great going!
-
Hey, add me if you like, I'm around quite a lot and often typing rubbish in my friends updates ;)
-
Yup sounds like a good idea :) Ronboy, way to go adding 30 to an already impressive number! SWFLGUY, welcome aboard and brilliant total for day 1 :)
-
4.11 mile run today.

Week 6, Day 2, Col 2 22/22/30/30/24/24/18/18/58 (Total 246). I thought this was going to be easier than Day 1 because of more sets/less reps and whilst the first 8 sets were ok by #30 on the final set I was struggling so had a couple of 'breath breaks' holding the top position. Last day of the series for me on Friday but…

Managed 55 push ups in the 9th of 9 sets and hit a new best total of 245 :)

My multitasking is limited to smoking whilst drinking (but not in my pushup breaks of course).

Ohh, took my eye of this thread for a day and look at you all! Some big numbers flying around and who'd have thought 5-6 weeks ago we'd be posting results like these? I too play mind games with myself and count in 10's but am worried I'll miscount and end up doing 10 too many (though am sure my body will let me know).…

I really wish I hadn't read this and know who to blame if I redo today's set tomorrow ;)

Hard to say without knowing more about your running time/pace etc but no, you should not be throwing up or being dizzy during every run! (though may feel like doing both during intervals/pace runs etc). When you say you eat a good sized meal before running how long before running? Most people suggest not running for 2-3…

^^this! I think everybody doing this challenge will see improvements in chest and shoulders but it's so cold here am rarely down to base layer let alone topless lol ;)
-
Not my best session and things got hard(er) in sets 3 & 4 when I expected it to get easier and again took a couple of breathing breaks in the final set (holding the up position). Week 6, day 1, col 3 45/55/35/30/55 (Total 220). I honestly don't think many people can get to 100 straight push-ups in 6 weeks (I know I wont…

Looks like you have some nice goals there :) Me? 1. Run* at least 75 miles 2. Complete the 100 pushup Challange 3. Do more strength training 4. Gain 2lb+ of LBM 5. Learn to skip * I use that term loosely ;)
-
@ brandiuntz - congrats on 'pushing' through. I reckon if you managed 45 on the max set you should easily manage col 3 this week ;) @glamchicka - must be a real boost to be seeing results already and sounds like your getting a great workout there :)
-
Txs, but I have a feeling the next 40 will the the hardest ;) Well done electriq and lifewithmikey - good going from both of you ;)
-
A thought from a newbie runner, if you are getting shin splints running 9mm's to me that would mean your running too fast, try to slow down until it no longer hurts and run further. I don't know enough about you to really comment but I don't think it's a good idea to be running intervals after just 3 weeks of running. As…

Am not surprised your happy with the result cmeirun, 42 is fantastic and what a % increase - well done you! So, week 5 col 3 next week? Just did my exhaustion test and struggled to 60 (with short breaks holding the up position on #50 & 55). That's one short of progressing into col 3 for week 6 but will decide tomorrow if I…

Impressive :)

Whoot, BIG congratulations cmeirun!! and good luck for 40 tomorrow :) You options are interesting and personally I'd see how you go with option 3 - you will already be much stronger from this and your lifting though any of the options would be good. As for completing the 6 weeks in column 3 I see the challenge more as…

7 mile run today and the first time I have run this far without a walk break :)
-
As above, yup, I weigh most everything I eat and measure all liquids. Am one of those 'same food' eaters so some things I now guesstimate but after 4 months of weighing I'm normally pretty close (I think). Then of course there is the can of worms that gets opened when you try and choose the correct food item from the…

I usually start the day with a protein/oats shake and add bits along the way, today's got to just over 1,000 cals and was yummy :)
-
Agreed, an excellent increase in your max! Thanks, I'd like to say it was a pleasure but...... lol and yes, will post results of the exhaustion test Sat/Sun.
-
Love it, 5 miles in exactly 60 minutes - slow but bang on my target time.
-
Well done for 'pushing' through to the end of the last set :) Great day for me and really wasn't looking forward to this... My fifth week and was following Week 6, Day 3, Col 2 22/22/30/30/25/25/18/18/55 (total 245). The last 10 really drained me but stayed off my knees this time and took a couple of breathers at the top.…

Yup, agree some days are better than others. I find that I can go well but rather than go through a stage of struggling but coping I tend to go well then die within 2-3 push ups then have to take some breaths whilst holding the top of the push up before I can struggle through a few more. Am pretty sure there are not that…
-
Well done you! And you should join the '100+ Club' next time :)
-
Ron, Kudos for the ton up! And congratulations for not stopping on the last set, I find rather than dying slowly I'm fine then all of a sudden I'm beat and can't push myself to complete it and have to hold the top of the pushup to regain some breath before continuing and have had to complete some sets on my knees - this is…
