  • Wonderful job and very inspiring!! I have also heard that the skin does heal and tighten up, it just takes longer and good nutrician.
  • I'm actually going to start on Sunday. Got the whole kit for my 21 yr old daughter, but her friends are home from college and she's not into it. Right now for the next couple of weeks my life is going to be crazy hectic, so having a couple of meal replacements per day would help. I love to cook and find healthy recipes,…
  • Yum! I'm making these. Thanks for sharing!
  • I like eggs but don't eat them that much too because of time. Protein shakes are easy and yummy. I'll buy the LC ones that are on sale that week. I also eat the same thing pretty consistently. Chicken breast pan fried in olive oil, with seasonings and steamed broccoli and butter. Boring, but delish :-)

  • I think going to a nice steakhouse when in the city is a great idea. And add to that a dry martini and you are low on carbs, while still having a grand time! I would be hard pressed to not order the usual favs too when at a sushi place. Enjoy your date night in the city!

  • I haven't done carb cycling, but have low carbed. I know a lot of body builders do it. Are you working out too? Have any success? I'll read up on it and maybe I'll try this next week. Let me know how you do! :)
  • I'm in the same boat! I just got engaged a couple of weeks ago, and want to lose the 25 pds I gained in just the past two years (5pds of it was just gained over the holiday). I'm seeing a lot of folks on this post mention weighing their food. I think I should do this as well and take out my scale. Good tip! For me, the ELF…
  • My understanding of clean eating, based on what I've read, is cutting out processed foods. Shop around the perimeter of your grocery store (e.g., fruit/veggie section, meats at butcher area, etc). For example chicken breast, steamed broccoli and a small sweet potato would not be pricey. I need to do this again myself.…
  • I gained about 5 pds...? But now I have nearly 25 pds to lose! Most of that happened while in Las Vegas for a few days vacation during NYE. I got engaged and really need to focus on losing the 25 pds gained in the last two years before the wedding!
  • Yeah, I think you can lose a dress size for sure if you cut back on carbs, eat clean, stay away from alcohol (that's always the hard part for me). You can do it for sure! But also look into a back up plan such as whether you can return the dress right before the wedding, or taking out the dress. Sometimes an event will…
  • I say don't beat yourself for your mistake and just hop right back on the wagon. I mean, they say alcoholics typically have set backs during recovery. Ideally they keep getting back on it until there are no setbacks (isn't sugar considered a drug?) Any diet is hard. I've done them all! Even tried Atkins in the 80's when I…
  • Let us know how you are doing now? I just started Keto diet (this is day 3), and I get my ketostix tomorrow in the mail. I'm feeling good though! I think because of the recommended fat allowance I feel more satiated than when I was counting calories and macros.
  • Hi! I'm also in the same boat. Been on here for a few years. This last month I have been counting my calories and exercising a ton, with very little change in my weight. I decided to start a Keto diet on Monday (all my life I have tried every diet out there). Last year about this time exactly I did Atkins and did lose a…
  • I did the Four Hour Body (slow carb diet) that calls for a cheat day per week. This time around I am aiming to just have a cheat meal. So frustrating when you gain that week's loss even if it is only water weight. I have a busy social life that it is hard not to have at least one. But that's just me. It's a mental thing…
  • I did this in the past without realizing it's a "diet" and found it to be effective. I was recently trying to do the 17 day diet, but my personal life has been hectic and I don't have the time to do the food prep, so I am doing the 16:8 now. Cutting out breakfast helps to keep my calorie count low, which I really need when…
  • I'm new to LCHF. Can you share the Facebook page? I'd like to check that out too.
  • Here's a good article on why you may not be losing weight on your low carb diet. Read their list of reasons why and maybe something will strike a chord? http://authoritynutrition.com/15-reasons-not-losing-weight-on-a-low-carb-diet/ Also, if you are "backed up" then that is adding weight. Get that fiber in and flush out…
  • Congrats on your weight loss!! You have accomplished so much! I'm not sure why you are struggling right now. I have read that even body builders do a cheat meal, and that can jolt your matabolism. Lookup "carb cycling." Maybe that'll help for you? :-)
  • I just started LCHF four days ago after a few months off any plan and after vacation. But I made sure to wait until day four for my first weigh in today as I knew I over did vacation. I think it's a great way for me to kick start my diet, and may just continue this plan. I don't go extremely low because I want to weight…
  • I did Atkins and LCHF for a bit a few months ago, and I remember craving sugar and carbs so much that I googled a bunch of recipes and spent a small fortune on almond flour. I made a couple of things with the almond flour and it didn't taste good. Gave up on that. However, I noticed that during that time I ended up craving…

  • I have been fortunate where my boyfriend and I seem to gain together (too much fun), and then we jointly decide to diet and excercise more. I have a friend whose fiance eats so unhealthy. No veggies at all. Fried food, etc. And she has gained a lot of weight. I don't judge because I would have a hard time living with…
  • Thanks! I did log the entire bottle of wine I drank last night. And now today the jelly beans off my colleagues desk. Will have to hit the gym hard tonight for sure and ensure I don't go off plan this evening! I guess logging even the bad days will give us an opportunity to look at the entire week for awareness to ensure…
  • Have you tried cutting back on the carbs and increasing the lean protein? That is what body builders do when the are getting close to their competition date, even though they are working out like crazy! It's really hard for me, but cutting back on carbs to between 50-100 grams seems to help. Good luck!
