Yum! If you like this you should try the banana ice cream that was posted a few weeks ago. You just slice a banana, freeze it, then put it in a food processor or blender until it's creamy. It comes ot like soft-serve or you can freeze it a little more. I added a little peanut butter and it was delish! I'm considering…

For dinner tonight I threw together baby potatoes, green beans, and turkey smoked sausage into the crock pot with a little water to help it cook. The turkey sausage is a little high in sodium, but way better in calories and fat than traditional smoked sausage. And it's so good!

Someone's already posted something similar, but I use a frozen banana and I think that makes all the difference: 1/2 frozen banana 2 frozen strawberries 1/4 cup frozen blueberries 8 oz OJ I get it all together when I make my coffee and let the fruit thaw a little while I'm getting ready then zip it up in my magic bullet…

I've recently started sneaking it into my turkey burgers with chopped spinach. I cook them both in the microwave for a couple minutes and squeeze out the excess moisture, then mix in ground turkey and grill seasoning. The veggies keep the burgers very moist! I heard this works well with mushrooms too, but that's one thing…

Bump! I must try this!!

You just use a box of mix (cake or brownie) and instead of using the stuff the box calls for (eggs, oil, etc) you just mix in a can of diet soda. Then you bake according to the package.

I agree that it's not the healthiest, but I'm not trying to do any clean eating... just trying to find a way to lose weight in a realistic way that works for me. I figure if I make it, eat one or two myself and unload the rest on my unsuspecting co-workers I'm okay!

Mental note: MUST try this!

You should invest in a smart pot. You can set the time and then it cooks on high or low for however long and switches to warm after. You're plan works great too! And I have the Pampered Chef deep dish covered baker:…

I just planted an herb garden and I'm totally going to make this with fresh herbs when they come in. Yum!!!!

I would have to move! I like to make pork tacos in the slow cooker. If you use a pork tenderloin and trim off the excess fat it's not too bad, but you do have to watch to make sure you're getting the correct serving size. For an easy meal that I can throw together really quick before I leave for work I just toss frozen…

I just made cream of asparagus soup last night for company! If you do a search of the message boards there is a really good recipe that gets the creaminess from a potato rather than actual cream. I add a dallop of reduced fat sour cream to my bowl and it is devine!! It really feels like a guilty pleasure without actually…

I plan to make this recipe from eatingwell.com, and the HG Snickers Pie. Braised Paprika Chicken From EatingWell: January/February 2009 — Subscribe Now! 6 servings Active Time: 1 hour Total Time: 1 hour 55 minutes Ingredients 3-3 1/2 pounds bone-in chicken pieces, (thighs, drumsticks and/or breasts), skin removed, trimmed…

I find that if I'm craving pizza I need actual pizza... making it on tortilla's or pitas doesn't really work for me. I like to make my crust out of bisquick heart smart. With a little part-skim mozzarella and a lot of veggies it's really not too bad if you watch how much you eat. This nutritional info is from 1/4 of the…

I forgot to add remove the bay leaves when you add the noodles.

Crock Pot Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup 2-3 carrots chopped into bite size chunks (I leave mind kind of big) 2-3 stalks of celery chopped 1/2 onion diced 2 chicken breasts (mine were frozen) 6 cups chicken stock (go for low sodium or no salt) 2 bay leaves dash of red pepper flakes Salt and Pepper (omit salt if you use…

Just marking this so I remember to make it!

One of my go-tos, which I just made last night for dinner with friends, is pork tacos. Just toss in a package of frozen onions and peppers, pork loin (I always divide the large one into fourths when I get home and freeze it... and I put it in straight from the freezer) and top with either a southewest style marinade, low…

I made this tonight with white chocolate pudding (FF SF) and tossed in a few strawberries... soo good!

These aren't all healthy recipes, but many of them can be altered. I agree, the crockpot is totally my friend, and I don't even have kids! Just a dog, two cats and a fiance! haha http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/

Bump. Just want to mark this recipe for later.

You should try eggplan parmesan. You can get a good recipe from Eating Well at foodnetwork.com. The nutrition info is already on mfp. It's so good! I halve the recipe and end up with four generous portions that I serve with a small amount of whole wheat pasta. Good luck:smile:

My fiance is very picky and has a hard time with a lot of vegetables. I just cook what I want anyway, and go with a "you don't like it you can find something else" policy. However, I do try to always make sure there is at least one thing that he will like, and I avoid the things I know he really doesn't like (or make a…

I have no idea, but you can ask the butcher @ your grocery store. They usually have charts that tell you those things.

I really like Annie's Homegown (or something like that) shells and white cheddar. They also have a regular mac and cheese that's good and a few other selections that I haven't tried. You can find in the organic section of the grocery and it's SO good! The best part is when you look at the ingredients on the side of the box…
