  • Wow! I can't believe how incredibly rude those people were being. I think if you said something in an extremely polite voice and said something like, "While I appreciate your concern for my diet and welfare, it really is none of your business." I think you'd get an immediate apology from them. I think you need to politely…
  • It is bad to have too much protein, particularly if it is animal protein. There is a great book called, The China STudy. They have learned, they meaning scientists, that high levels of animal protein cause increased risk for cancer, heart disease and other diseases. You don't need as much as you think you do. Just reduce…
  • Great information, but you forgot the most important thing... They taste super YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Depends on what you are eating. Eat fruit and veggies! Lots of em!
  • Oh no, it isn't a bad thing to have your cortisol levels increase. Higher cortisol protects your joints, so that is good. But people who think that working out for 2 hours straight makes you lose more than someone who works out for 30 is incorrect. So, here it is, I eat anywhere from 1900-2500 calories (more if I do a…
  • You'd think being a triathlete would help me drop weight but that is not true. The extra cortisol level increases prevent me from losing as fast as most. I just got off a 2 lb loss for the entire month of May. Typically I lose 2-4 lbs a month and that is it. I've found that eating whole foods, fruits, grains and vegetarian…
  • Go vegetarian for 1 month and see what happens. Go vegan and the weight will melt off fast. I became a vegetarian a year ago and recently a vegan. I did a total harsh reboot on my life. I also became a triathlete and I do not miss dairy or meat whatsoever. Start out small, go meatless 1 day a week. I bet you'll be amazed…

  • Great job!!!
  • For inner thighs, seriously ladies, start horseback riding! Nothing better than learning to play polo or jumping to tighten up your thighs fast. No joke. If you can't do those sports, remember the thigh master didn't work, it's STATIC intensity that tightens thigh muscles, not crunching motions. You are better off…
  • Moving Comfort Compression shorts, you can buy them on amazon. Cotton is miserable to work out in and makes the chafing worse, which is really what is happening. If you don't like how you look in compression pants, throw some additional shorts over the top.
  • When your metabolism increases you get to eat more. Pretend your metabolism is a fire the more logs u throw on it the hotter it burns.
  • Read the book the China study. You have the wrong diet going on. Carbs give energy. If u want your fire to burn hotter u gotta give it the right fuel. Boost your metabolic rate w complex Carbs
  • Wow that question challenges me. I don't so much care about my clothes, I find it annoying to shop for them and who wants to fit into old smaller clothes, I'd rather have new ones I think. I want to feel good about myself physically but also to perform better in my sports. Also I want the self satisfaction of accomplishing…
  • Ok so I am a cyclist and a triathlete. Bike speed depends on TONS of stuff. For one, the terrain, the bike you are riding, your fitness level, etc. Wtih a hybrid doing a moderate pace, say 12 MPH your time isn't bad at all depending on terrain. You say it is rolling hills, what is your heart rate? Do you have to push your…

  • I work for an organic peanut butter company: www.onceagainnutbutter.com There are some amazing peanut butters out there to try. We make sugar free ones but we also make one called, American Classic which you don't have to stir before you eat it. Peanut butter is very good for you. It is rich in protein. While it is high in…
  • Katheern! Great post! Thanks for sharing that. In terms of binge eating, I too have had those moments, I think we all have had those moments. And let me just say that I'm deeply sorry for how you must be feeling. It is a really hard challenge, but guess what, you can overcome this. One of the things that I do when this…
  • Coconut water is a great beverage to rehydrate instead of gator aid.
  • Ps I love to eat brown rice the day before a race or big workout it fuels me really well.
  • For pre workouts I love once again nut butter organic raw almond butter on whole wheat toast and a banana. I also like Stingers chews instead of gu or sports beans for run fueling. For general nutrition I'm a vegetarian and believe in eating whole foods fresh fruits nuts grains and lentils. I also love tofu and I drink…
  • It's never been accurate for me. But it is motivating.
  • Here is the deal, I have one questions but also I have a suggestion, take a pen and notepad with you to write down everything and take lots of notes, you'll get hit with so much info you wont' retain enough of it. Consider taking a tape recorder, seriously. Question to ask: What email address may I have to email you…

  • Awesome!
  • In an ironic twist, Tony Horton is a vegetarian and he's the man of P90X! funny right? I"m a triathlete vegetarian and do not struggle with getting enough protein.
  • thkelley is kicking out some good advice. Definately do the 1/2 iron first. I too have the same goal in mind but I'm doing the 1/2 iron next year and the full iron the year after, at least that is my plan. Right now I'm doing sprints and olympic distances. Have you done those at least? Swimming is a big deal, I too had to…

  • That is a really nice trick. Instead of salad dressing, I often put 1/2 cup of cottage cheese on the top of my salad and that is nice too.
  • Set your scale at home 10 pounds heavier then you don't have to worry about it again in the future.
