10 minutes straight of burpees as fast as you can for a beginner's workout?

I don't know...I don't actually log anything any more as I know what works for me after years of changing things up.

Love how open minded you are! I've increased my distance speeds with HIIT as well and it's great to run with a friend for sure. Good luck this weekend! (or did you mean this past weekend?)

Yes...a lot of hot guys in this thread...so glad I started it! lmao! (I'm looking at the women though) I'm friending everyone in here, btw...I enjoy good debates and don't take anything personally. Obviously I'm copying/pasting from a HIIT article on Shape.com...and we could both find articles to support whatever…

Agreed and I would never say it is useless. I didn't have enough characters in the title to specifically target people that complain about long, boring runs (treadmill or otherwise). I've seen plenty of posts here about it in the week that I've been here and I get asked about it in person frequently. I wasn't trying to…

Uh oh...did you come here from the BB.com misc? You're doing it wrong...you completely missed the point.

I disagree completely with HIIT only saving me 5 or 6 minutes...been doing it for years. Also, I'm not targeting people that just like to run/jog...I'm targeting those that want to lose calories (most of the population on this site) effectively without wasting a lot of time (busy schedules). I'm sorry, but I must live in a…

Yes...it's what I do. Would you believe me if I said my highest dumbbell is only 40lbs by the way I look? It's true!

Actually, the woman who said she spent an hour on the treadmill wanted ideas on what else she could do because she was bored to death (and trust me, not burning many calories by jogging 4 miles in an hour compared to even 15 minutes of HIIT). I don't recall anyone saying they enjoyed being on the treadmill for an hour…

^ Very wise words from mrnedburns. I vote against it as you can easily obtain that info on your own as he mentioned. Over $1,000 for a year? No way!

Don't add sets...add reps. Your last few reps should be "felt" if you know what I mean. Do 15-18 if needed to feel the burn. I don't think you'll benefit nearly as much by adding sets because you're still not getting to a point where you're struggling to lift the weight on the last few reps.

(I borrowed this list from another site) Light string cheese and a piece of fruit Peanut butter paired with whole-grain crackers or an apple Beef jerky and whole-grain cereal Sliced turkey with reduced-fat cheese and mustard and a handful of baby carrots Trail mix made w/whole-grain cereal or crackers, dried fruit, and…

I work out at night pretty much all the time...I feel stronger in the evening and I don't feel rushed to finish my workout because of work/getting my son up for school/etc. I've done morning workouts as well and I feel better when I can get a morning workout in (I am more energized throughout the day), but I can honestly…

My favorite "diet" tip is to turn a "diet" into a lifestyle...the term diet means it's going to be short term and won't last...that's why people end up going on diet after diet after diet. Healthy lifestyle = no need for a diet ever again = happiness! = )

I'm in, brother! Welcome and I'll be sure to give you swift kicks in the *kitten* when needed. ; )

Thank you...very flattering! Thanks, bro...looking good!

I was military for 10 years...I got out in 2004 to stay close to my son. = )

Added ya! We all can use some motivation from time to time...I've fallen off the motivation wagon in the past, but I don't let it last long. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I agree with the compound lifting as a good basis, but you need to mix it up with free weights as well. Also, try doing some HIIT (interval training) instead of 30 min walks which honestly aren't doing much for you. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/ask-the-ripped-dude-hiit.html

Thanks! I have to thank my family DNA for the young looks...the hard work definitely pays off as I was not naturally ripped at all. I was a skinny runt in high school...athletic as hell, but thin and not much muscle showing.
