I woke up this morning to MORE SNOW. What??!! When will this winter end? But my dogs were still excited and bright-eyed and so we bundled up and went for a 50 minute walk. It was magical, so glad I made myself get out that door. Fresh clean snow, birds chirping in the trees, rabbit tracks trailing off into the tall brush.…

Now I have a real challenge on my girls' night out on the 22nd. I used my "free pass" last night. My husband and I tried a new restaurant, and it was unexpectedly swanky (at least for us!). The decor and the night out just called for a glass of champagne before dinner. Delicious, but will call for extra willpower the…

I'm in - even though it's March 3, by some dumb luck I haven't had anything to drink for the last couple days. I have a girls' night out on 3/22 so appreciate that hall pass. I have had concerns in the past about how much I drink. This is a good reset, as someone stated earlier. A recent "reset" was a terrible bout with…

I have given up shopping and sugar. Retail shopping that is, will still be buying groceries and dog food and other essentials! Each morning I give myself a little pep talk: "No sugar today. Just for today. If you're desperate for it, it will still be there tomorrow." One day at a time, just like other addictions, I suppose!

Are you following a vegan or vegetarian eating plan? Just wondering how strict "plant based" entails.

Do most of you weigh yourselves weekly? Or more/less often? I've heard of people weighing daily but that sounds a little obsessive for me. I'm afraid I would let a "bad" weigh in ruin my mood.

OMG yes! My metabolism have always been s...l...o...w... and menopause has slowed it down even more. I could use some support on my weight loss journey as well.

You might benefit from reading Andie Mitchell's "It Was Me All Along." She chronicles her weight loss and more importantly, the wild emotional ride it was for her. Something that resonated with me was how she asked herself, "Can I do this TODAY? Can I resist sweets and overeating just for today only?" If I can pause and…

Day 9 - good day! Stuck to my calorie goals, did enough of a workout that I'm feeling it... could have been better but I did it.
-
Day 8 check in. You ever have days where you swear you're just too exhausted to even log your meals, let alone entertain the idea of exercise? Today's like that for me... so logging in, counting every calorie, being accountable is my victory for the day.

Elements for Weight Loss and Elements for Flexibility/Stress Relief are both great workouts! I found both at Walmart.

Day 7 check in. Sticking with it!
-
Day 6 check in - it's hard to stay on track when I'm at home and feel at liberty to snack on everything in the house. Even though I've cleaned out the house pretty well and there isn't any junk food, portion control is a problem when I'm bored. At work I take pre-measured cheese slices and an apple for a snack, or a small…

My sympathy! Here in the Northwest we're having a drier than normal year, but there's still just enough ice to make outdoor exercise treacherous. Maybe for the next few days, just concentrate on things like yoga or pilates and you can get back to your cardio when it's safe (and when you can shower!). I'm sure it all won't…

Day 5, checking in. After being frustrated for the last couple of days thinking "I'm doing everything right! And am completely stalled!" I was gratified to see some downward movement on the scale this morning. Lessons to myself: stop weighing daily. And take it easy on the soy sauce - we've had sushi and stir fry this…

Day 4, feeling good! For the first time in I don't know how many weeks, it's a sunny day. Only 26 degrees but sunny - I'll take it. Took the dog for a long walk and have all my meals for the day planned.
-
Day 3, against my better judgement I weighed and actually gained 1/2 lb.! Frustrated but undaunted. Today I've cut WAY down on carbs and tried to get up and move more frequently throughout the day, in addition to my usual brisk walk-the-dog. I'm still logging it all, still checking in daily. I blame this on being a…

Day 2, logging in. I really need to remove my scale from my bathroom.... I weigh myself daily, nothing seems to be happening even though I'm being really careful in logging. I'll just keep fighting the good fight, exercising and eating healthy and within my calorie range, and have faith that it's just going to be slow and…

I'm in. I hate that I "cheat" on logging food, skip reporting all the bad stuff, and lie to myself. Who's it hurting?! Only me. Thanks for starting the challenge.

My MF coach recommended taking probiotics so I'll give that a try for a few days. I've also planned out an entire week's menu (and have pre-tracked most of it on MFP), using 2-3 Medifast products per day and the other meals are taken from the sample 2-week menu from the Habits of Health book. I hope this works! This can't…

Thanks for the reply! I'll try sticking to soups, pretzels and oatmeal for a couple days to see if it helps. Do the shakes also contain a higher amount of sugar alcohol? Do you happen to know which ingredient I should be on the lookout for?

Soup! At least 3 out of 5 working days I have soup... sometimes if I have my $$it together, homemade soup but usually Progresso, Campbells Lite or a Trader Joe's soup.

After two months of decent success - not strict adherence but feeling good about my progress and the program in general - I had the worst day. Really, really terrible food choices. I binged on cake at work - I actually snuck it and ate it, I am quite ashamed. It was an all-out binge and I really can't figure out what…

I'm sorry for the folks who are experiencing such bad side effects! I've been on Medifast since April1 - had a great April and lost 18 lbs., only lost 6 pounds in May due to a beer here, a snack there, a little sneak of chocolate, etc. But I'm definitely not unhappy with a 6 lb. loss, and am back in full motivated mode for…

I really like the Shiritaki tofu noodles, rinsed thoroughly and then boiled like spaghetti noodles for about five minutes. I microwave five turkey meatballs and add about 2-3 tablespoons of pasta sauce. You have to look at the labels carefully - most of those sauces have quite a bit of added sugar but the Paul Newman brand…

Don't feel guilty, it's just food! Stealing money from the church collection plate; robbing a little old lady - sure, feel guilty about that! But going off plan for a day? Oh well, like you said, tomorrow is a brand new day and one hamburger is not going to make you gain 10 pounds. You know you'll feel more in control…

Way to go! You should be proud of yourself. I had a total Medifast FAILURE weekend but am back on track with renewed vigor today. I'm glad I read your post - you motivated me.

It's tough when we have to sit all day! We can't use the stability balls either, but I do have a tall desk so can alternate between standing or sitting throughout the day. I had to get a doctor's note for that, and was able to do so because of my arthritic knee. A tip I've found useful is to imagine a string pulling you up…

You look healthy and beautiful, and your dog is awesome too.

I'd like to give it a go! I've never done a MFP challenge.
