OK...Good information!! Lightly active makes sense even tho it is quite an adjustment for me...for now. I have heard 1800 calories quite a few times now. Yes, resistance training would be more what I need to do.

This seems like crazy info...but everyone seems to concur with eating more!

Your stats are very similar to mine. However, in order to lose weight I had to eat 1800 cals pers day. As I am close to goal #1 I have adjusted my cal level to 1400. I am mostly a sedentary person. I am still losing weight, 16 lbs so far, 4 needed to reach Christmas goal. Then another 15 to reach Easter goal. After that,…

That is what I was wondering...if I should eat my burnt calories, but that is scary! lol. Too many years of 'dieting' breeds many wrong ideas!

HA! I love that train of thought: the higher the number you start with, the more you get to see on the ticker as it comes off. I was embarrassed at first that I had to see 45 pounds as a goal, but it is going to be a fantastic "winning number"!!!! Thanks for sharing that!

I added you!!! You are the inspiration I am looking for! I only joined a week ago, but my enthusiasm is running high and sometimes it just feels good to share it like you just did. I was thinking I was weird that in this short amount of time that I find myself with a different mindset, but like you said: "almost addictive…

Not sure what this entails, but everybody's enthusiasm in wanting to join leads me to say....Count me in, too! I joined only a week ago and having been searching for support and motivation, so this seems a good way to get going. Somebody give me a clue as to what this is all about, please

Hi. Weight loss and self-image means different things to each of us. #1 It doesn't matter what anybody thinks about you. Do they express disappointment or is that really your thought? You are embarrassed becuz you put the weight back on, but sweetie, other people really don't care. They judge quickly, but they don't walk…

Why do I have cellulite, lumps and bulges? The fatty tissue of your body acts as a "toxic waste disposal site," where substances that it cannot metabolize are dumped. This congested tissue can have poor circulation (you'll note that cellulite prone areas are cool to the touch). Lymphatic flow may also be restricted by…

I love my mini trampoline for jogging in place; it is easy on my knees as it would be your injured tendon. I picked up mine a year ago for under $40. I move it under the ceiling fan or in front of the tv or even outside when weather permits. I used it 4-5 times a week to lose weight but it didn't do the trick, so I found…

The first step to losing weight is to admit the problem to yourself. Finding the inspiration is the individual motivation that is different for everyone, but you are HERE and you are reaching out for help and that is the next step! Stop beating yourself up. One day something just "clicks" and you feel that today is the…

Good Sunday afternoon from Knoxville, Tennessee, USA! :flowerforyou: I just joined 2 days ago and have been looking through posts from people my age. I am 58 and don't need the kids' advice, but certainly need a support group. Feel free to add me! Cindy
