Time. Lots and lots of time spent doing whatever it is. That's why I don't got to the gym, I'd be bored senseless doing exercise for its own sake that long! Thursdays are usually my 1000+ days, but that's because I walk over 10km at work, then bike (11km round trip) to a two-hour fencing class (of which I'm usually…

I think it's a bit unfair to ask a big mover to become something he's not - and do you really want to spoil nice, active gaits by making them flat? Maybe you can find a discipline he's better suited to... But that's just my two cents. If you really are trying to change his gaits, I'd suggest loads of transitions and pole…

Love the photo idea - but not while I'm living in a shared house!
-
Yes, unfortunately driving and competing in other disciplines, especially dressage, don't really go well together, because the ways they move under saddle and in harness are so different!
-
Thanks, that might be a start. I do tend to think through the what-ifs too much...

I'm trying to get by with my old clothes for the moment, though I'll buy the odd thing in a charity shop. I plan to move jobs/countries again soon, so I'll pretty much donate everything except the favourites I want to have altered, and then start over in the new place.

You forgot the bit where there are no threads here on how to achieve muffin top, while there are plenty about them infamous "thigh gap" and how to get your collarbone showing. That's where I get the idea that most of the female population of MFP seems to have that for their goal.
-
Wow, if I'd realised how much fuss this was going to cause, I'd never have started. All you ladies who personally like the skinny look and have achieved it, well done! And to those trying to get there, good luck. We all know losing weight is hard. If it's truly the way you feel best, good for you for figuring it out. But…

That's not what I intended at all. I just don't want my goal to be having my hip bones protrude or be one of the "help! My thighs touch!" people...

Where I'm from is a long story - I've moved that often - but I'm currently living in Northern Ireland. Don't own a horse at the moment, but I loan an Irish Cob/Connemara (probably - the owner isn't quite sure!) three or four days per week. 15.2 hh and a lovely shiny black. He's 8 and only knows about as much as a…

I like to have a browse of http://thisiswhyyourefat.tumblr.com/ when I get cravings. It all looks so disguisting that I lose my appetite!

If you ate 50 g of something and the entries only have 1g or 100g, list it as 50 servings of 1g or 0.50 of 100. I don't see where the problem is?

Riding lesson today. Jack was acting up, so the instuctor got on for 5 minutes (she mounted from the ground and rode him beautifully, unlike me, I might add.) But she complained about feeling pinched in my saddle...

I have myself set as sedentary though I'm anything but, because the walking I do at work varies a lot. I track it with a pedometer, and ignore all the stairs. I work at different sites on different days, so my walking varies between 5 and 15 miles...

My favourite chicken recipe: take 2-3 chickens, put them in a nice fenced yard with a safe henhouse for the night, lots of grass and fresh worms and bugs to eat, and collect their eggs every day. Then make an omelette. Sooo tasty! (I went vegetarian in part because I'm allergic to chicken.)

Mmmm, chocolate, I bet that's it. I've got a few signs pointing to a thyroid problem, but every time I bring it up, my doctor just tells me to stop looking for excuses why I'm overweight. :-/
-
That's amazing! I'm sure it counts as a horsey NSV, too, because no pain will make you a better rider :)
-
That's a good idea. I'm usually fine with drinking water from mountain streams as-is, but one guy in my hiking group is a doctor and freaks out about the possibility that a newt might have peed in it or something... Maybe the tablets will put his mind at ease. Not much in the way of vegetation where we hike, unfortunately…

Thanks - dried fruit is a good idea. Doesn't make you feel very full, so you can eat loads...

Also, watch out for MSG in *everything*. I've never lived in China, but my best friend at university was from Beijing and she actually had three shakers on her table - salt, pepper, and msg!
-
Wish I'd lose some off the bust - still dealing with DDs and they're no fun. Can't find armour/chest protection to fit me, let alone shirts, and they bounce too much doing horseback riding. I seem to be losing only from the waist - my breasts and hips are still the same size, but I've lost 3 inches in the middle!
-
Hah, I love the "locust mode" label, that describes it exactly. Like most people here, it's chocolate for me. And salty things. And tinned peaches - not the taste, but the mouthfeel!

A "real" bike after being stuck on a MTB is quite a revelation, isn't it? My bike is currently out of action - cut in the rear tyre, need to buy a new tube before I can do anything with it. And of course I wasn't carrying a repair kit because I was just going to a friend's... At the moment, I'm cycling about 100km/month on…

Make sure you're only buying for the current weather/season. By the time summer rolls around, you'll need smaller sizes again!

Also, this may sound odd, but have you recently moved in with new female housmates, started a new job where you're close to the same women all day, gone on a longish vacation with girlfriends, or had a girl living in the same house as you (younger sister?) start her period? When they live in close proximity, women's…

Think I'll treat myself to some good tailoring lessons - I can do sewing, but tailoring it properly is difficult. Because this is getting ridiculous. As of today, I've lost over 3 inches from my waist and still nothing off my hips.
-
I was having a similar problem for years - too frequent (every three weeks) and too long (lasting ten days) pretty much all the time. My hormones are pretty unbalanced - cortisol's through the roof, estrogen is low, testosterone too high. I've been put on the pill to regulate it, but it still manages to come early! Get…

Wow, this thread is confirming all my stereotypes about Americans. How can that be considered a "normal" diet by anyone? Sure, I have treats, but my goal isn't to exist entirely on snack foods.
-
Oh, he looooves his food. That's the problem. I hadn't fed him out of hand for three months just to avoid that. And I had him backing up, moving over, following, etc. reliably at liberty. Now he ignores me, tries to run over the top of me and demands food. Wish I'd never started this stupid clicker thing. Maybe it's…

Hmmm, today's session didn't go so well. It might be because there were too many distractions, but he wasn't paying attention and the mugging for food has gotten much worse - he was actually grabbing my jacket and scarf with his teeth!
