Oh, I'm a shortie too. 5'3" B)

I pick my goal weight based on the size of my jeans. Not very scientific, but I know how much I have to weigh to be in a 4 - 6 - 8 - 10 and I just shoot for that. I gained 25 lbs after I stopped nursing my last baby in 2012, took off 30 in 2013 and have put about 12 back on. I restarted my goal from my current…

Whoa, congrats! That's amazing.

Most people hate it at first. I hated it but kept at and kept at it and before long I loved it. It's completely addicting. And my knees and ankles have never hurt for one second. My advice to you is, get out there and go for it but start out SLOWLY. Don't try to run 2 miles or even 1 mile. Walk for 10 then pick up your…

Doesn't sound like you're doing anything "wrong." I hate this mindset of wrong/right. Also, I don't like how people are picking apart your food diary like, oh you overate this one day. One or two days will not make a difference and I think it's more helpful to look at it over the course of like a week or so. Some days…

As long as you are eating withing your calorie range and especially if you are helping yourself along with exercise, it will start to come off. Keep doing what you're doing. Also, I wouldn't stress about what time to cut off your food, it really doesn't make a difference. If you save 100-200 calories a day so you can have…

I don't know - I'm afraid to get on the scale.

When I first started running I felt really self conscious about running outside. I did most of my runs on a treadmill for a long time, but eventually I got over it and now I love running outdoors and get out there every chance I get. It's hard to push past the feeling that everyone is staring at you, but after a few times…

The article suggests eating half your daily cals at breakfast?! There is no way that would work for me. I eat a tiny breakfast because I am not hungry in the morning - I usually have to force myself to eat. I like to save calories for a larger dinner (large being relative when you are eating 1200 calories a day) and a…

Working on my second bachelor's degree, this time in nursing. Prereqs done, apps to nursing school are going out, but physiology over the summer almost did me in.

Yes! The shake thing drives me bonkers. Don't they realize it's just empty calories?

Ha ha! Me too, totally.

Since April I've lost 24 (and still counting) pounds running, using Fitness Blender on YouTube, taking a yoga class once or twice a week and counting everything I eat on the MFP app. Haven't been to the gym once. I do have a treadmill in my garage which is really helpful, but I run outside also. Running + diet is a magical…

I don't always wave. If someone waves at me I wave back IF I SEE THEM WAVE. Sometimes I'm just dealing, trying to get through, chanting in my head and generally in my own bubble and not caring or paying any attention to what someone else is doing. And I find that most of the runners around me also aren't trying to wave or…

Also - it's so so important to have the right shoes. I injured myself moving off of the treadmill onto the road and the big error I made was not getting good running shoes first. Go somewhere like Fleet Feet or another running store where they know what they are doing and can check your gait and type of feet and get fitted…

Here is what happened to me: I was getting ready for my first 5K and bumped up my runs (not long runs, 2-3 miles at a time) to almost every day. I was running 6 days a week for 2-3 weeks and I gave myself shin splints. Let me tell you, it is hard to recover from them once you have them. I've been icing and trying to give…

I'm down 18 lbs since April and have not set foot in a gym. I do have a treadmill in my garage, but I run outside a lot, run on the treadmill, take the occasional yoga class, push ups, jump rope and just started doing some Turbo Fire and P90X. I know that my weight loss is completely and totally from monitoring my cals…
