Impressive arms! :)

Depends what you're trying to do, really. Most will say do the sets you can do with proper form, even if that means going down a bit. Having said that, if you want to push for strength/mass, lower your reps and increase the weight/rest periods. I've always struggled with endurance in my shoulders, reaching failure after…

A month ago I massively reduced my protein intake, whilst upping my carbs. I'm able to eat a lot more now, although i do still struggle sometimes. Snacks are now fruit and nut packs that I grab on my way to work - 300 calories, gives me energy for about an hour and a half, then I can eat again.
-
Lol I thought I'd been banned or something.
-
When I was trying to lose weight, for most things I ate what I wanted, just less of it. Cutting things out just made me want them more. The only exceptions were drinks, where I switched to diet/sugar free from regular.

New barcode feature? Wow you really haven't been on in a while :D

I've tried using tumblr for things other than porn, but it just never works out :(

Please eat more if you're going to increase your exercise :( There's a real risk that you'll end up on like 7-800/day once you factor in calories burned, and I know it's all to easy to think that's a good thing, but it's really not. Something someone said a while back, and I have no idea if it's true or not, but the whole…

If you haven't really got specific goals other than losing weight, just use the gym to supplement your dieting. Have a small deficit set on MFP, and use light cardio (using whatever you feel comfortable doing) to keep you under the limit. You don't have to start running miles and sweating til you pass out, just hop on a…

This. Assuming you are, most basic whey protein shakes aren't for bulking - and are generally cheaper than those that are. Still follow the basics of calories in/calories out, just have more of the in from protein.

Squats.

I wish I could change this thread's title to 'Ajnb88's' daily update thread. Liking what I see in the mirror is becoming a pleasantly frequent occurrence, even if my lower stomach is STILL lagging. Ho hum, it'll catch up eventually.

Lol, I usually do full body. But sometimes I'll work on specific weak points (such as my shoulders) if I get an extra day at the gym due to time off work etc. I don't stick to specific day splits due to the unpredictable nature of my shifts. Posture is the issue I'm actually trying to improve - always had a slouch to some…

Or just eat what you want in moderation. Cheat meals IMO build a mindset that what you're doing is a constant struggle - which it needn't be - and can cause you to eventually buckle.

Cheese or a protein shake. (Unless I'm trying to hit certain macros, then I'll eat something specific to them.)

Since incorporating cable crossovers (mixture of high and low) I've felt a lot of stretch and subsequent development in my inner chest. Having said that, I realised fairly recently that my bench press form was pretty crap, and since perfecting it I feel the burn across my whole chest a lot more. There are folks out there…

I find lifting more enjoyable, so that's my choice.
-
Completely up to you :) Some prefer cardio, some prefer weights. As long as you focus on what you're trying to achieve, either (and indeed, both) will help. One thing I will say is that if you go the lifting route with the primary goal of losing fat, try and stick to compound lifts that engage a lot of muscles in one go.…

(there was meant to be a :) after that thanks, my phone won't let me edit it properly..! :(

Thank you :) Yeah, as I said earlier, I don't think I realised how skinny I was getting. Looking back on it, I don't really like how I looked then :( Bizarrely, I'm not actually much heavier than in the skinny pic at the moment. For the last few months I've been clearly gaining muscle, but the last remnants of fat have…

The rate may be different, due to hormonal and physical differences, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work for you :) and thanks :)

My abs and obliques are starting to show progress now :)

This is why I appreciate my wife's vegetarianism

I find that if I've had a strenuous day (either at work or the gym), a lack of carbs almost always makes me crash big time.
-
One meal won't really make a difference, the same way as if you ate McDonald's 6 days a week, with one day being salad wouldn't make you healthy. Don't sweat it. For what it's worth, I found it incredibly hard to keep salt low, you're doing a lot better than I did!
-
Good luck. I find it remarkably hard.
-
Thank you :3 I (and the guys at the gym, who give me endless support) have no idea what the hell my body is doing with regard to food, (constant eating, yet constant fat loss) but the results seem to be coming, so all good! :)

General protein boost is USN Whey Protein Premium (double servings), and post workout is USN Muscle Fuel Anabolic. However I'm considering ditching the MFA, and making up my own PWO of Whey+carbs.

Yes, but it can take over your life if you obsess over it too much. (At least, it did to me).
