Entering stuff on MFP. Duh.

Reduced fat peanut butter is awful - they add sugar to try to make it taste okay but sweet is not a good taste for peanut butter. Reduced fat cheese is an abomination. I find some reduced fat mayo, salad dressing, sour cream okay but the non-fat versions are either too sweet (added sugar again) or have the texture of…

Six and a half years. Keda is a full grown (rather plump, like me) kitty now.

Celebrities don't impress me, really. My sister, however, is a STAR! I want to be more like her when I grow up.

Gained 1.5 pounds. Most of that was shortbread.

My BA is in History (1975). I never actually worked in anything "History-ish, however I used it a lot because it taught me how to write, how to make a presentation, how to discuss issues based on data and present supporting arguments, how to research, how to analyse data and how to evaluate biases in historical literature…

We've been married 31 years. It all comes down to the fact that you can't be in two places at once and no-one has any fun if you try to cram both in by running from one place to the other. Work out an equitable arrangement to allow the parents to "share" you. Explain to each what you are doing and that you are doing it…

Pot roast marinated and simmered in red wine, garlic, onion, carrots, celery, herbs, sauce made from pureeing the cooking liquid, mashed potatoes, carrots and parsnips cooked in the sauce, and green beans, zucchini and red bell peppers steam "fried". And as long as I don't pig out, it will fit my macros!!

Tracking sugar is pretty useless as it is the type of sugar (processed) not the total sugar that is the issue. Fiber, Iron and Calcium are all far more useful to track.

I deliberately bought candy I don't particularly like so that I would be less likely to nibble. And I bought some fresh pineapple and sugar free ice cream in case the sweet tooth gets the better of me....

My husband is hooked on Piller's Turkey Bites and I like Freybe Honey Ham sticks. Both are versions of tasty little low fat snack sausages the have 50 calories and a good load of protein.

I would never take my own advice, but for what it's worth let me throw it your way.....

I was born in the mountains of British Columbia (Canada) in a town called Trail and lived most of my life in or near Vancouver. NowI live in Edmonton Alberta and am trying to become a good prairie woman.....

I have smallish hips and slim legs but I have never had a thigh gap - not even when I was 116 pounds at age 16! (I'm 5'1"). How to avoid the rub? Wear pants: Jeans, Trousers, Leggings Capris. Whatever. - and preferably natural fabrics. Skirts are overrated.

Okay, how about "matronly"? I really hated that one. My dad once said I was "built like a nail keg" which is pretty awful but a phrase not a word.....

Yes. Keep at it. Stretch gently over several seconds or even minutes - and remember to keep breathing. Better yet, take a yoga class. Over time your muscles will release and stretch and you will become more flexible. BTW, if you are carrying any belly fat (doesn't appear so in your photo) it can literally get in the way of…

Re: nagging. Howcome some people never clue in that the best way to avoid being nagged is just to do what you are asked to do the first time you are asked? No nagging, just an honest "thank you" and a lot of good will.

Fresh fruit - whatever is in season or looks good in the store. Oh, and lots fresh veggies - cooking ones salad ones and nibblie ones. I don't use a list for these, I just figure out about how many servings I will need and then pick whatever looks good, fresh, locally grown and reasonably priced.

I am losing with glacial slowness - about half a pound (250g) per week, so I hope to hit 130 pounds by the New Year - then I'll have only 5 pounds to go until goal weight. BTW, I am 5'2" and started last November at a stout 169 pounds.

Well, Bread, - eat bread (whole grain in reasonable quantities like 1-2 slices per meal depending on the size of slice) Coke, - Coke zero (again reasonable quantities - I keep mine to 1-2 per day) Rice. - Eat rice. Brown rice. Just remember a half a cup is a serving. Pasta - Eat pasta. Whole grain pasta is good and again,…

I work with 1200 to about 1400 calories a day, eat lots of fruit and veggies and have plenty of protein in my diet without resorting to powders, "protein bars" or similar processed supplements.. Without being able to look at your diary it's impossible to tell what your issue might be. What amount of protein are you trying…

Yes. Definitely yes. If I want to see my blood sugars go through the roof all I have to do is have a bowl of pho. Rice noodles kill me. Egg noodles are fine, Bean thread noodles are fine, soba is fine, other pastas are fine, but rice noodles, even in very modest quantities will spike my BS like mad. I just avoid them most…

If I needed the food and planned to use the whole animal, yes. If I just felt like I wanted a bison (buffalo) burger, no. Waste not, want not.
