Funny, I was just moaning about that situation today. I am an "apple" body type apparently. When I was at my largest my waist was the same size as my bust and an inch LARGER than my hips, while my butt and thighs remained pretty moderately sized. Now that I have lost 28 lbs. I now have a bust larger than my waist but my…

Nice situation your landlord set you up for there! As it's summer, I would opt for salad like things or things wrapped in a whole grain pita or tortilla. Your grocery should have packaged pre-cooked chicken or turkey strips, or pre-cooked shrimp for protein (or rinse off some canned black beans or chick peas. Add some…

Oooooh aren't you scared that you will shower and end up with green leafy fuzz all over your head like the little ceramic frog I used to have?????? LOL

I am short but built like an operatic soprano. My ribcage is 37" - and very little of that is fat after 7 months of MFP. But why worry? Your ribs are your ribs. Can't change 'em. .

Well if we are just talking modern life any of the preceding answers would do it, but if it's true civilization you are talking about I'd say a really good Brie ( and a complimentary wine)......

SoVILicious, you crack me up. It's not wontonWhore (where is your mind!!) it's Wor Wonton, and in fact, I had it for lunch. Tasty broth, a bunch of bean sprouts, a couple of florets of broccoli, a few slices of carrot, a few poached prawns, some poached chicken, a little char siu (Chinese barbecue pork) and a half a dozen…

I seriously do not get "clean eating". I didn't used to think much of it - I figured it was just a variation on the theme of "only eat food in a state as close to how nature made it as you can" i.e.: unprocessed You know, protein from sources like meat, fish, eggs, poultry, dairy, legumes, nuts and seeds rather than from…

Chinese food isn't necessarily fattening - no more than North American food is automatically fattening. If your idea of Chinese food is six kinds of battered deep fried meat and seafood with some kind of sweet sauce - topped off by some greasy noodles and a fried egg roll I can guarantee you are gonna blow the diet. And if…

I find that most of the entries are pretty reasonable. And those that aren't are obvious enough to avoid. LIke a cup of vegetable for zero calories or a six ounce serving of meat for 48 calories. Most common items have more than one entry so when In doubt I check a few and choose the one closest to the middle of the "pack"…

No charging your mom!!! She didn't charge you for the first 18 years (or maybe even longer) she had you living with her. Cripes. That's what family's for.

Government Nannying? Maybe. But then we want government nannying in some areas - in fact, we demand it. In many countries people with heart disease, or diabetes or other lifestyle related illness receive health care as a right of citizenship from the public purse (that is me, as a taxpayer) The government, pays the medical…

IE: 199 pounds is the entrance to onederland. Seeing a one there rather than a two, three or more is a big thrill.....

Don't need no Cheez-its, we got Hawkins Cheezies. Mmmmmmmmmm Cheezies. (That's not to mention the name "Cheezits" unfortunate tendency to make me think of a cheese related skin blemish...)

Get used to it, 'cause that's the way we diabetics do it. I have cat scratches that show red for months. I use Polysporin for even the tiniest injuries (especially on my feet) and mosquito bites drive me wild so I never go anywhere without Benedryl anti itch stick - they really help... I never used to use any of this stuff…

Kim Chee. Salty, spicy, yummy - and really low calorie. You can eat it as is (like you would any snack) or add it to fried rice, noodle dishes, etc. Or the European equivalent, sauerkraut. Also very few calories.

You should be able to notice a difference in strength almost right away- every few days you will be able to lift a little more. Muscle size and definition take a lot longer. If you are not carrying a lot of extra weight (fat) I would say give is 6 to 8 weeks to see a change....

What I want to know is where did they come up with the name?!?!

If you don't like hummus, don't eat it. Leave it for those of us who do. (What was the point of this thread, again?)

ENFP and I love every minute of it!!!!! I used to work in HR and am qualified to administer the MBTI as part of leadership development, but the part I liked best was using it in a team building process. Have you thought about your type and how it affects your weight loss and fitness efforts? It's interesting.....

The best thing I ever discovered about breakfast is that it's just whatever food you eat after not eating over night (i'e: breaking your fast). It does not have to be "breakfast food". It could be cheese, crackers and a few raw carrot sticks, or a plate of leftover salad with a chunk of fish or chicken on top. Or a cup of…

A couple of notes: If you see someone in street clothes riding a bike you are probably anywhere in the world except North America. Commuting by bike is not considered a reason for a whole separate outfit in most parts of the world. (Ever see pictures of traffic in Amsterdam?) What's the problem with running in a dress?…

What Jessie said. If you have no idea what you are doing you cannot expect to ever have true blood sugar control (you know the old line about success through good luck rather than good management). What you need to know to manage your condition over the years (yep, years,) is way too much to fit in a few comments from a…

I have had great experiences with chiropractors - even though I started out as a skeptic. I was walking home one day from a physiotherapist session (one of many in an almost 10 year fight with a calcified semi-immovable shoulder) in literal tears with the pain. when I passed a Chiropractor's office and thought, "what the…

Chewing noises only really bother me if I get visuals at the same time. Perhaps some of the noise would be lessened if you CLOSED YOUR MOUTH when you chew! About as appealing as a garburator in action.

I'd go with the chicken or shredded beef tostada - hold the sour cream. The ones I have had are lovely salad-y things on a flat corn tortilla shell.

Sorry I can't help, but my diet is based on food. Meat, fish, poultry, eggs, dairy, whole grain bread and cereal, a variety of fresh fruits and veggies. Very little processed stuff. Food protein, not powdered protein, meals rather than meal replacements. You get the drift. Oh, and spices? Whatever makes the preceeding…

Read a post on how to drink enough water. Seriously. I just went and poured and drank a 16oz. glass. A lot of it is just habit. Start piggybacking drinking a glass of water with other activities. One before each meal. One before your coffee or other beverage at coffee break, one to sip during meetings, One when you go into…

Food is fuel. I agree that you don't want your kids to eat when they are not hungry in order to get treats, but if the kid has room for a Fiber one bar, they are not full. Dessert is an extra - a little treat. In my home the solution was simple. We do not (and did not) eat desserts except on the rare special occasion…
