I took a peek at your food diary as well. While I would be really surprised to find that 1200 calories is all you should be eating (Heck, I'm 60, female, 5"1" and sedentary and that's my calorie goal!!) I think you are really doing yourself a disservice by eating what you are eating. The foods you have had for the last few…

Fiber one. I particularly like the one with raisins.

O hai. I have been wresting with the demon A1c for about the last 20 years so I can understand your frustration. I heartily second you idea of getting in to see an endocrinologist - family doctors are fine for the day to day but an endocrinologist will get you on to the right track with balancing meds. They can work with…

I enjoy a BBLT - that's back bacon (or Canadian bacon, for you non Canadians) lettuce and tomato on whole grain bread and light mayo. Back bacon is great - you can use a generous amount with no shrinkage, little fat and a useful quantity of protein while still revelling in the salty, smoky yumminess of bacon.

I moisturize my feet after my daily shower and check them out at the same time. I'm 20 years a diabetic and have never had a foot issue.

I spend a lot of time "out and about" and don't want to lug my lunch with me so I have done some research and found items that work for me in a few restaurants and food fair outlets I frequent. In one mall, its wor wonton soup (broth, won ton, shrimp chicken and lots of veggies), in another its bibimbap (Korean rice bowl…

Ohhhh. You are wonderful - practically a saint - to have dealt with this for eight years. I'd have strangled him before our first anniversary. My sympathies on your continued kitchen martyrdom.

She looks stunning, but what I like best is the function. She has a job that demands a lot of physical strength and she has developed that. She looks like she could handle anything life threw at her - and that is very sexy indeed. Strong and tough are sexy.

I like cow tongue too. It makes a great sandwich. How about chicken feet ( one of may favorite dim sum yums)

Liver. Sauted with onions and bacon. Yum.

Thanks Ninerbuff for being the voice of reason (not to mention good humour). There were a couple of facts you neglected to mention: Some cuts of pork, like side bacon or pork belly are pretty fatty, but other cuts, like loin and leg (trimmed) and tenderloin have fat content comparable to skinless chicken. North American…

Lean meats other than chicken breast (pork loin, beef sirloin steak, lamb leg steak, fish,) and some more whole grain foods (bread, quinoa, buckwheat, , whole grain noodles, whole grain munchies)

I'm really hoping that people are joking here. I'm finding the entire thing kind of disturbing.

13 pounds down. One third of the way there. Starting to think I may be able to do this.

Calorie wise what you're eating looks like its fine - varies a bit but unlikely to get a "starvation" reaction. Otherwise it looks pretty good - low on grain foods (was that intentional?) - and a bit more veggies might be good (perhaps a cooked one at dinner?). It looks like you are handling this really well. I can't wait…

Lots of fruit and veggies 5 to 10 servings per day is not really hard. Half an orange at breakfast, half an apple for a snack, lettuce tomato and sprouts on your sandwich, one or two small servings (half a cup) of veggies with dinner and a piece of fruit for dessert and you're set. I hate lo cal dressings as well because…

Depends. Do you just want to be slim or do you want to be slim and healthy? If just slim, eat whatever you want within calorie limits. If slim AND healthy then eat lean meats, fish, eggs, poultry, lots of fresh fruit and fresh vegetables in variety, whole grain breads and cereals and low fat dairy products. Avoid empty…

Little teeny tiny chocolates......... I try to remember that its not just calories I need to be concerned with, its the nutrients involved. Therefore, I eat peanut butter, but not Nutella. I eat raisins (in really small amounts) but I generally avoid chocolates - even teeny tiny ones....

Some great advice here. While you don't want to blow your diet entirely, you do need to fulfill your body's need for nutrients to allow you to heal effectively. You don't have to eat tons of calories but you must ensure that the ones you eat pack a good nutrient rich punch. This might be a good time to ask your doctor to…

Perhaps she is hoping she will pick up some fitness by osmosis. What I can't fathom is the eating on the equipment - chocolate sticky and chip crumbs are not what I want to encounter during a workout.

Well, Mr. Onesnap, you are obviously holier than I - not to mention being what's right with America. You are a consumer saint. Whereas I, poor unenlightened sap that I am, am destined to descend into the depths of GM, agrobusiness dominated, mass produced consumer Hell - and take the whole rest of the world with me. You…
