The evil part: It's a tongue in cheek article. But here's the allegation of why it is so very very bad: . It’s plotting to murder you. The compounds in grapefruit inhibit an enzyme in the intestine from metabolizing certain substances. These substances include drugs that regulate blood pressure (Nitrendipine), high…

A recipe for smurf-berry cookies: http://bluebuddies.com/Smurfs_Smurfberry_Cookies_Recipe.htm Goes great with grapefruit juice for sure. If you drink the grapefruit juice w/in 30 minutes of eating the cookies, this cancels out the calories from the cookies. That's science.

this is why the article alleges grapefruit to be evil-- because of it's interaction w/ medications.

What about the magical smurf berry?
-
Agreed! And, who doesn't love grapefruit!? it's delicious. !!
-
That's the article's allegation...

I actually love grapefruit. I eat it bc it's delicious and filling. But I don't think it has magical fat burning properties. :-)

it totally works. wrestling bears (plus diet and exercise) yield positive health results 60% of the time.

Good call. I feel horribly. You totally put me in my place. FYI-- your calling me stupid and irresponsible has worsened my deep depression, and now I'm going to have a serious complex. Do you feel good about that?

Moringa Oleifera is a legitimate herb with some decent properties. But zija as a system is a rip off. You would do a lot better with a high quality protein source and some relatively cheap moringa pills off of amazon. Moringa isn't bad for a multi-vitamin substitute: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moringa

I'm saying that research suggests that you'd have to eat a lot of vegetables and other stuff all the time to do what you could have done with a normal amount of these things years ago. For instance, "Recent studies that compared the mineral content of soils today with soils 100 years ago found that agricultural soils in…

here's the thing about "eating better." Due to soil depletion, over-farming and a host of other factors (GMOs, etc.), eating better (more vegetables, let's say) doesn't necessarily have the same healthy effect that it once did. That is, it is much harder to get all of the nutrients that once were found in abundance in…

I've tried it. I'd skip it if I were you. The flavor is way too artificial, but this complaint may extend to other "strawberry" flavored protein powders.

Sigh. It's called a base rate comparison. Your observations lack it. Happiness is a relative concept, yes? The question is not dichotomous-- ie: you aren't either happy or unhappy. It's a continuous measure. So... the only way to "prove me wrong" with your singular case study data point, would be to compare how happy you…

Your ability to predict what your partner wants/ needs/ desires/ thinks about you, and his ability to see you and form opinions about one another and yourself (body image), is woefully underdeveloped. When you are older, you'll likely look back and think of decisions you made at this age related to your husband and other…

Frontal lobes aren't fully formed in humans until around 25 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frontal_lobe). It's a pretty decent biological reason why one shouldn't make decisions about whom they think they should be partnered with forever before that age. Check out the correlation between age of marriage and divorce rates.…

Plastics are composed of long molecules called polymers, while margarine is a blend of fats and water. There is no chemical similarity between the two. Substances are made of molecules, which in turn are composed of atoms joined together in a specific pattern. So, you could say that hydrogen peroxide, H2O2, is one atom away…
