Steamed green vegetables of any kind. in large quantities. Or, if I have the calories, I'll sautee them in a little bit of olive oil and garlic. Kale is especially good this way!

Top and side of the foot. What did you do for it, and how long did it take to go away?

There are two companies that produce Girl Scout cookies. ABC bakers is the one with the vegan cookies. The same cookie varieties produced by the other company, Little Brownie Bakers, ARE NOT VEGAN! Make sure you read the labels before you buy any. The cookies in my area are vegan (woo hoo!), but you may not be so lucky,…

I have been eating a lot of dry roasted edamame lately, and I LOVE it! It really satisfies my desire to crunch on something salty. It has 14g of protein and 130 calories per 1/4 cup serving.

Cereal makes me SO hungry. Hungrier than if I hadn't eaten anything at all. Try swapping your cold cereal with oatmeal, and stir in a tablespoon of peanut butter. Add your chopped banana and you'll probably have a much more satisfying breakfast.

I guess I'm just not understanding your point here. The problems you've outlined here are relevant to everyone who eats - not just vegans. Plants are grown for animal feed, too. Lots of them. I don't think anybody is going to argue that veganism is a cure-all for every problem in our agricultural system. But unless you're…

You are welcome to add me if you'd like. That goes for anyone here! :)

There is no such thing as a perfect vegan. Anybody who tells you otherwise is full of it. We ALL do things that could be considered "unvegan." The important thing is doing the best you can. For me, if I have the ability to make what I consider a more ethical choice, I do. For me this means no animal products in my food,…

Good luck! You can totally do it! I did it yesterday and it was easy! I was scared of it for no reason. Running for 8 minutes was not that different than running for 5, and since you only have to do 2 intervals instead of the previous day's 3, it just felt easier.
-
Congratulations! I just finished week 4 too. Onto week 5 today!

Yep, and for me, there are certain factors that I'm learning can really influence my performance. Time of day, meal timing, etc. I tried running before work in the morning and it sucked. After work, which I thought would be worse, was actually much easier.

I run as slow as I possibly can while maintaining a running motion. It's not about speed when you're starting out. I just finished week 4, so I'm still fairly new to this, but I have no interest in speeding up yet. Getting through the program is what matters to me. You can totally do it. I literally spent all day, every…

It was just an off day for me personally. I had eaten too recently (running on a full stomach makes me feel queasy) and was really tired for some reason. I finished it but hated every second of it. But I did day 3 last night and it was great! I even felt like I could have kept running after I finished. I just went for a…

Good for you! Glad you got through it! I'm doing W4D3 tonight (in the rain... ugh!). Day 1 was not too bad for me. Day 2 was pretty rough. Not sure what to expect from tonight's run, but as long as I can push myself through it, I'm moving onto week 5. I have contemplated repeating Week 4, but I don't think I will end up…

Well, for me, breakfast actually is the most important meal of the day. If I don't start with a healthy and filling breakfast, I'm hungry all day long. It makes a big difference for me. I assume this is because I tend not to anything eat after dinner, so I'm really hungry by morning. And I almost always have a snack…

Why not get a blender and make smoothies instead? They are far more filling than juice, and you will get the nutritional benefits of consuming the whole fruit/vegetable. If you start adding things like seeds, nut butters, protein powders, etc., your drink becomes a full meal.

I also use the FT4 and highly recommend it.

Congratulations! I also just completed week 3 and am doing W4D1 today. Signing up for a 5K is a good idea. I'm thinking about doing the same.

I will look into those tablets. Thanks!

I drink a lot of tea (probably 6 mugs a day), especially in the winter (and especially at work because my office has no heat!), and I wonder if the caffeine is the problem. I will up my water intake and try to log it for a while, and see if that helps. Thanks guys!

Do a google search for farmers' markets in your area. Being in Florida, you should have access to good, fresh, local produce year round. Take advantage of it. Take a walk around a market: that's how you'll know what's in season. If you buy produce at the grocery store, take a walk around the produce department before you…

Between 6 and 7, depending on when I get home from work. Usually closer to 6. I don't generally eat anything after dinner, so when I wake up in the morning, I am super ready for breakfast!

I really like pea protein. I buy vanilla flavor from Vitacost.com. It's reasonably priced and I like the flavor. It is sweetened with stevia though, which people seem to either love or hate. If you search for vegan protein powder on Amazon, you will find tons of options.

Quinoa is one of my favorite foods. It's delicious, filling, high in protein, and all around healthy. It's a great choice. Keep eating it!
-
That's fantastic! Congratulations!

MFP tells me 1680 for sedentary, but I'm new at maintenance, so I'm not sure yet. I have it set to 1600 right now (based on Scooby's TDEE calculator) and am trying to eat back all exercise calories. I'm 5'8" and 120lbs. My plan is to stick with this for a few weeks and see what happens. Does this sound right? Should I go…
