Absolutely. I've been on MFP for 6 months and I've become incredibly obsessive about my logging. I'm maintaining right now and I'm scared of gaining. It's really becoming a problem for me.

I signed up for one later this month. I want to recruit someone to go with me because I don't think it'll be as much fun by myself!

I tried doing this and and felt it was too much for my body. I started to feel pains in my ankles and knees, and then I ended up having to take a few days off to recover. Every other day is better for me. I do 30-40 minutes on the treadmill (very slowly!). It's even harder on your body if you're running on pavement, so I…

I'm late to the game and just started using it - @veganashley

Water is a huge deal. If I don't drink a lot of water throughout the day before an evening run, I know I'm setting myself up for a rough time. I also agree about over dressing.

Try the Moroccan bowl if you haven't already. It's amazing and full of healthy stuff.

I've never tried to run on a treadmill, but occasionally I will walk on one, but I hate the way I feel when I get off! I'm always dizzy and slightly disoriented. It takes me a little while to get over it. I always just run in the street in my neighborhood. There are short segments of paved walking paths also, so sometimes…

I like your style. On more than one occasion I've blown my nose into my shirt while running. Note to self: start carrying tissues.

No idea about the calories, but Native Foods is DELICIOUS! I've never had a bad meal there. If I lived close to one I'd probably be there weekly. You are so lucky!

I'm a new runner and I'm also VERY slow. I walk faster than I run. I'm cool with it, though. I can feel myself getting fitter all the time, and that's really exciting to me.

Blend in stages. If I'm using anything other than spinach (which is very soft and blends up quickly), I will blend the greens first with milk or water (and protein powder) until smooth, then add frozen fruit and blend again.

I sometimes end up doing this if I go out to eat on the weekend and go over my calories. It works out fine for me. Although I agree with the comment above about making sure my body doesn't come to "expect" extra calories all the time. I think I am personally happier when I stay right around my TDEE and keep it fairly…

I'm in a similar situation. I twisted my ankle about a month ago and am just getting back into the program (with an ankle brace). I left off on week 6 and tried to jump back into it, but my body was not having it, so it looks like I'm going to be backtracking at least a couple of weeks to get back to where I was. Good luck…

I feel like Weight Watchers does such a disservice to people by promoting fruits and vegetables as "free." I know there are people who are successful on WW plans, and that's great, but the system of counting imaginary numbers makes very little sense to me.

I make a conscious effort to drink more water if I've eaten a lot or salt or before going for a run. Otherwise, I can't be bothered to track it.
-
Yep. Sounds weird, but 1/4 tsp or less will thicken a smoothie.

I tried a sample of the chocolate and hated it. It was very sweet and had a strange flavor. I've tried a lot of proteins and have settled on pea protein as my favorite. It has a fairly neutral flavor and smooth texture. I recommend Vitacost pea protein (sweetened with stevia) and Life's Basic plant protein (unsweetened).

I made the switch overnight (from vegetarian) and never looked back. It's been about 7 years now. I think if I'd allowed myself a "transition" period, I never would have really committed.

What problems did you have when you tried it before? If you can identify those issues and find ways to deal with them from the start, you'll be better off. What sorts of foods do you eat now? I've been vegan for around 7 years and have experienced no known health issues. I make an effort to eat mostly healthy foods and…

I have a snack, and often a carbonated water. It gives me a little energy boost when I'm stuck at my desk. I know it's mostly boredom hunger, but I plan for it, so it's fine. Plus it means I'm less likely to overeat at dinner.
-
I couldn't do it. I'd be hungry all the time. I aim for 50/25/25 and am almost always over on carbs, but nowhere near 80%.

Cereal is the worst for this! A single serving of cereal is such a tiny amount!
-
Of course. My point is that the scoop included with the container measures a larger portion than advertised. I know that 22 grams is the correct serving. And that's why I weigh it, rather than relying on the scoop! Because the scoop is wrong, evne though "1 scoop" is supposed to be a serving, according to the label.
-
Also, when you start weighing things, you'll find that the portion sizes listed on labels are sometimes wrong. For instance, I have a protein powder that lists 1 level scoop as 22 grams. 1 scoop actually weighs closer to 28 grams. The scoop came with the container! It's about a 30 calorie difference, which is fairly…

It helps because it's accurate. I weigh everything. I'm pretty good at eyeballing/guessing how much something weighs now, but that only came from lots of experience using a scale.

Sorry to hear that, Lynn! I'm glad you caught it before it got worse. I actually haven't gone to the doctor because my foot is feeling pretty good after a couple of days of no exercise. I'm able to walk on it with no pain, so I'm going to try going out for my run this morning. If the pain comes back, I'll make an…

24 hours later, it still hurts quite a bit when I walk. I was limping around a little today. I definitely do not feel comfortable running on it. Off to the doctor I go! Sigh.
