Sorry for not replying - just saw this. I for one don't track it at all (agree with the above re: fiber) . From most of what I read - anything less than 20% of your total calories should be safe. Side note - that Fitness Baddies article above is great. Got to meet Joy at a seminar a couple weekends ago.

"Haters gonna hate" is funny and leads to hilarious gifs. For this reason it gets a pass. People calling everyone who disagrees with them a "hater" is lame. Unless you are a rapper. Then it is allowed.

I've never tried it by adding sweet things - might have to... I just always found it reminded me of sour cream so used it in lieu of that. Recently I have become semi-obsessed with mixing no fat greek yogurt + salsa + spices/salt. It makes a yummy dip, or a great salad dressing. Especially for taco salad

Yes. In the stupidest most ridiculous fashion ever. I worked in social work (front line at homeless shelter) and one day (6 years ago) my friend called me up and asked if I wanted to start a business. I said yes and quit. We had no plan... For me it made a lot of sense because my job was so depressing it was destroying me.…

Yeah I with Big T - interesting and I am not sure how it would play out... I assume when you say "in addition to your regular daily intake" you mean on top of maintenance? So if someone was eating at maintenance and either ate 24 cupcakes over at once, or 1 per day over... Hmmm Well this a hunch on my part, but considering…

This is a pretty classic argument against science. But I don't believe it to be true. We could sit here all day naming things that no study could possibly prove. Not to mention - no single study changes an argument. You have to look to see how that study fits in with all the rest of the research. Further more, not every…

I also eat what I want within my macros... I also don't believe in good or bad foods. That said, I don't think doing that is mutually exclusive with the concept of "cheat days". While I try to hit my macros most of the time, some days - usually at some social engagement, or day trip - I will not log. I will not even…

I can't remember his name - but there is a famous UK vet who has a bunch of books about his vet stories - anyways, he always said the best way to get over the passing of a dog is to get a new dog right away. It makes sense to me. I don't think it is disrespectful to the passed dog at all and the energy, effort, emotion and…

Lots of reason your weight will fluctuate daily - water weight, food still digesting, etc... If the fluctuations bother you AND you have an iPhone - I'd suggest the app: Happy Scale It is specifically for daily (or frequent) weighers - once you have a number of entries it will offer you the option to use "predicted weight"…

That bar obviously won't last long, but the price including the weight is damn cheap. Like you said - you can always upgrade the bar later on.

I'd actually argue there is something "magical" about a high protein diet. ...although Id never use that word. Well, not abnormally high, but hitting your protein goals is pretty important - and I don't think you would necessarily look the same on a high fat or high carb diet (especially if you didn't hit your protein…

Whoa...puhretty jealous!

I like you. What is your favorite healthy food that you eat all the time?: Probably eggs...or taco salad recently. What is your favorite food that you reserve only as a special treat? Buffalo Chicken Wings (not breaded - never got-damn breaded. A breaded chicken wing is a sin against nature. WTF the delicious skin gets…

I am not a girl but by FAR the most complimented cologne I have ever worn is... creed imperial millesime It isn't cheap by any means but cologne usually lasts me ages, so a worthy investment.

Terroni Pizza Toronto (specifically the Natlina pictured below...) King's Taco Toronto Ironically, I went to both these places when I was in town for a nutritional seminar a couple weekends ago

Wait...something else will get me drunk with less side effects. :O Why have I never heard of this before...

I use all varieties of ground beef (from regular to extra lean), but sometimes I use ground turkey to save some cals. The chicken and turkey I get is 120cals per 100g - significantly lower than the leanest beef available at my grocers.

Wow - congrats on naming the first breed I had to Google. OMG adorable!

Agree that any OTC test booster is a waste. I stick to... Multi-Vit - more of an insurance policy since I am in a caloric deficit Vitamin D - If you are in a northern climate (or not in sun a lot), you could likely be in a Vit D deficiency (thanks Canada :( ) Fish Oil - (I aim for about 3g combined EPA/DHA a day) Creatine…

Sugar has certainly been demonized in isolated form (as opposed to carbs in general). I am also not sure you have the correct grasp of a) how fructose is metabolized and b) of how insulin effects our weight. Let me guess - a big Lustig fan? His claims about fructose are largely based on animal studies. The problem with…

I don't think you have a good grasp of how insulin actually effects weight gain - because it is quite a complex issue and is certainly not as bad as many of the LC proponents say. http://weightology.net/weightologyweekly/?page_id=319 And no a moderate amount of carbs CAN NOT easily lead to weight gain in a hypocaloric…

I agree with this somewhat. I STRICTLY adopt - but you can often adopt purebreds - there are many organizations devoted to rescuing *Insert breed name here* though. I have nothing against mutts either and my favorite dog ever was a Lab/Doberman mix. She looked like batman. On a related note - I would never buy a dog from a…
