  • My BIGGEST issue sticking to a plan was that the calories were always too low and I couldn't do it. I would lose like crazy on 1200-1400cals but I would be too weak to work out, dizzy and grouchy, etc. MFP has me at 1360, but I eat back my exercise/fitbit calories and I have been eating between 1700-2100 (Female, 29, 5'6,…
  • I've gotten down to pre-baby weight but not size, if that makes sense. Some parts of me had more fat than before, hips were a little wider and my body composition had changed. I was always very trim and toned...and being the same weight without that lean mass was a different size.
  • Anyone can add me if they'd like, including OP :) 5'6 OW: 195, CW: 164, GW: 145, age 29
  • they might not have their diary available for viewing. I can only see about half of my friends
  • I used to eat dinner at usual time/food (I was too groggy/tired to be hungry when I awoke), I would space out "lunch" during my shift, I would try to have something sustaining around midnight/1am like a shake, or sandwich, etc, and then I would have another snack with carbs around 330-4am when I was the most tired. I would…
  • you can add me 5'6 and about 164lbs, looking for 145ish. I'm not one to live on lettuce or live in the gym...but I log consistently and I'm active on here.
  • winter. I know summer is coming so I am thinking about summer and that helps motivate me, and I do more daily activity to help stay warm. In the summer I'm already in summer so I'm not thinking about losing weight for summer. I drink more alcohol in the summer and when I'm hot I don't want to move.
  • Habitual night eating/binge eating is a huge issue of mine too. Honestly I've just made peace with the fact that I'm a night eater. I don't usually eat breakfast (just coffee) and I use breakfast calories for before bed. I've gravitated towards splitting my food into 4 meals: Lunch (noonish), 3pm, Dinner (530ish) and 8pm.…
  • For meal replacement I really like the TLS shakes (this one is an MLM one, however). Besides that I like this dark cocoa organic one I used to get at Wegmans in the natural section. It tasted like heaven lol. For pure protein my husbands favorite is muscle milk and I like the Elevation powder that Aldi makes. I don't find…
  • I used to use PF until I had kids as they don't have a place for me to put them and so I had to switch to gyms that had childcare. Back when I was young and childless I still had a very stressful job, and at times worked up to 90hr weeks. It was VERY hard to get motivated to go to the gym with that the case...I used the…
  • it would probably be better use of your time to do exercises that were not so time consuming as you say you are spending hours working out. If you normally walk X miles, then you can still go the same distance...but every 5 minutes try to jog for 30 seconds or a minute, etc. You will be done faster and using these…
  • I think because I have a more powerful "why" now. In the past my goals were "lose 15lbs" or "wear a size 4." If it got hard and I was discouraged? Meh, I had size 10s I could wear, no big deal. Now my goal is a little bigger. I'm going to be 30 this year and i want to be someone that to the best of my ability ages well…
  • I LOVE the fitness Marshall on YouTube. He does cardio hip hop dances to pop/dance songs. It's one of the only workouts I actually have fun doing and it's a huge calorie burner
  • No problem! And thanks! Everyone always jokes that the "secret" is don't turn 50. We would hear it so much the doctor and I (I'm 29, she's 36) would talk about how these people are TERRIFYING to us. And 3/4 of everyone diagnosed with health issues that affect their quality of life wish they started even 5 years ago
  • Mom of 2 (2yr old and 4 yr old with autism), nurse, and JUST finished nursing school (working on my bachelors while working as an RN). I do workouts from home as soon as the kids go down. I do YouTube workouts. If I'm home I don't need to budget time for a commute to the gym, etc. I usually bribe myself with a treat or…
  • YES! There are exceptions...but often once my patients are about 55-60 you really separate who is active and who is not. Those that are tend to be pretty fit and lean, they don't often have pain issues (minus autoimmune or occasional over-training injuries), they don't often need joint replacements, they usually don't have…
  • If you are still overweight or a higher BMI and you are accurately logging AND not losing weight on 1200 calories per day for an extended period of time then I would check in with your primary care provider if you haven't and check for possible underlying conditions that could cause this.
  • thanks! I actually cut back on the fluids today! I swear I was peeing every 8 seconds yesterday lol. Everything felt great again, and it usually does after a higher calorie night. Maybe this just means I need a weekly "cheat" night ;) lol
  • Feel free to add me. I did an experiment a year ago....I wanted to see if just getting my steps in alone would make any difference. We lived in a bad neighborhood in a cold climate in a small apartment and I would wear my fitbit and walk figure 8s around the living room/dining room. I would aim for 15k+ steps a day. I…
  • the nurse in me will tell you that exercise is good for heart health (help prevent high blood pressure, high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, etc), it has been shown as a factor in preventing type 2 diabetes, strokes, etc. I will also tell you that working in the office I see a LOT of people...young people, old…
  • for reflux it's usually recommended 3 hours. Also recommended to sleep at a greater incline with more pillows, etc.
  • Nope. I just try to resume normal eating. I also have a history of bulimia...so binge/fast/binge/fast etc is something I personally know just doesn't work out. I've also found that when we really do eat in a way that fulfills us, fuels us and doesnt mentally feel restrictive (we work in our favorites) then I really don't…
  • I did not have BED, but I did suffer from bulimia for a verrrrrry long time. I am just now able to eat where I am supposed to not binge (calorie counting has been a trigger in the past because mentally I knew if I went over I could purge, and I don't want to be that person). Honestly the thing that has helped me the most…
  • do you eat a lot of other sources? I only ask because I have been trying to get my % of carbs higher and because I don't really eat grains on a daily basis despite all the veggies I've been eating, the bananas, grapefruits and oranges I eat every day, etc I I have trouble getting my carbs up over 30% of daily cals. If you…

  • I'm trying to lose 15-20. Feel free to add me!
  • Sleep is okay. My kids do pretty well about not getting up until around 8 which is nice. I can usually count on about 7 hours give or take. I had gotten a little less over the weekend now that you mention it
  • no magic diet, unfortunately. You really have 3 options. 1. do nothing, enjoy vacation as you are 2. lose weight rapidly via a fad diet and put it all back on after (and during) the vacation when you resume life as normal 3. Make changes to lose weight for vacation, AND keep it off working towards a healthier life change.…
  • I would either bring your own food....or if you know what restaurant they are ordering from you can always plan ahead of time how much you want and fit it into your day

  • weight will fluctuate...but KFC also has a crapton of sodium in it. I'm guessing you are just retaining some fluid from that.
  • we cut it out for financial reasons...but also because our main takeout is chinese and we moved from a place with GREAT chinese takeout to....ehh....not so great. I also make my own faux chinese takeout dishes that we actually like eating way more than takeout. Same with tacos...we like taco bell...but we like homemade…
