  • I’ve been drinking TLS shakes becauee I like the vanilla and my mom gave me a bunch. They are an MLM product so take that into consideration, I don’t spend money on those so that would be a DQ for me spending money on them. Otherwise teras whey makes a really good dark chocolate one that I love and I also like wegmans…
  • Echoing the others. SOME women have a weight gain goal of 0lbs (losing equal amounts body weight to what you gain from baby) and some have actual weight loss goals.....but usually they are only women with high BMI and other complicating factors that weight loss is less dangerous than weight gain for mom and baby. You need…
  • This post is making me miss grapefruits. Yay adult onset food allergies!
  • You can lose weight on a diet of solely sugar if you stay under the calories your body needs. The nurse in me who sees patients in the ER tells me that although you are losing weight and your bloodwork is fine today....it won’t be forever if you are constantly consuming very high amounts of sugar, so long term it’s better…
  • I guess the biggest issue I have is that one week Monday-weds I may work overnights...so Monday I’m awake from 7a until 9a the next day...and then I follow that schedule until Friday morning when I’ll sleep until like 2-3p and then go back to bed around 10p and wake up sat morning and live like other people until I go back…
  • I was interested in this but a lot of reviews said the food quality was horrible (likened to airline food) how has your experience been
  • Really normal. A lot of patients I see (RN) who are runners commonly have RHR in the low 50s, some even in the 40s
  • I just rejoined after years (had babies and needed daycare, then moved someone without PF until very recently). I love them. I get why a lot of people don’t like that gym but it works for me
  • When I had this happen I had to cut down the coffee and it made a huge difference.
  • I noticed a big decrease in my blood pressure, and improvement in the pelvic pain I was having and PMDD...however to be fair the hypertension (160s/110s), PMDD and pelvic pain all originated during the 9m I had the mirena
  • I always loved planet fitness, and I am counting the days down until one comes in to the area we moved. Yep, there “frills” like massage, tanning, red light, etc...but for $20 and being a night shift ER nurse and a mom of 2 small kids (1 being special needs), the “frills” are what get me to go when I’m feeling not into it…
  • Just eat the sweets. I binge if I feel deprived. I just bought some skittles at Walmart on a hurricane booze run (don’t judge me lol). I measured out a serving on my scale since they fit into my calories.
  • Are you in Ketosis? I don’t know too much about the diet part, as a nurse usually when a diabetic smells like ammonia they are often in ketoacidosis. That’s obviously very different from ketosis ...but...you get the idea lol.
  • Now that my cooking has improved over the last decade or so....the food I cook at home is usually better than the price range I’m willing to eat out at. The exception to me is good Thai food....but there’s none around me
  • I count almost all of them. The only times I don’t is when I’m making my egg whites for breakfast..if I throw in 3-5 slices of raw mushroom and a couple pieces of baby spinach....I don’t sweat that as much, or I’ll estimate those because in reality it’s probably 5 calories or less lol. When I get closer to my goal or…
  • I work up a good heart rate and sweat cleaning my house. I have my MFP set to sedentary, despite working 3 12s as an ER RN (average 12k steps a shift) and I go by my sync with MFP to help with calories. It's worked for me. I don't live and die by each calorie....but if I didn't plan my dinner yet after work and I really…
  • I'm also a nighttime snacker so I just roll with it. I eat less calories during the day and mentally plan out my evening snacks. Psychologically I know they are there, it feels like I'm indulging even when it was calculated, etc. I've done the best with losing weight doing this because cutting that out is the #1 way I feel…
  • Some medicines absolutely can. Insulin is a prime example of one that the actual medication itself causes weight gain as you don't burn fat with high serum insulin levels. Long term steroids are another and cause fat redistribution, and some forms of chemo can also cause weight gain. I'm assuming that OP is not talking…
  • Mondays and thursdays only. Any more than twice a week and I get a little too tied up in daily fluctuations.
  • Ill be 100% honest. As someone with an almost 15 year history with eating disorders (bulimia/anorexia)...I stopped having the "cravings" when I stopped telling myself what I couldn't have. I mean...I DO have cravings for a sweet, or some chocolate or a soda and if it fits into my calories I just have it. I took a "cheat…
  • Yep. Some days I just feel literally weak with hunger. I eat more, sometimes at maint and on one or two occasion I've purposefully eaten a surplus. I'm consistently under for the week and I am losing and eating more on days I feel I need it makes me less likely to quit completely or get too strict and restrictive
  • I'm in my 20s (for another 9 months or so lol), looking to lose approx 20lbs. Feel free to add me! My motto is moderation. I stick to my calories and I try to stay active every day. If I feel like I need carbs, I eat em. If I want a glass of wine? I have it. I just make sure that it's balanced
  • I am fluent in English and sarcasm. Feel free to add!
  • I just try to roll with it as best as possible. I try to estimate as needed, and I just try not to do that often if I can help it. I stick to a pretty good deficit so if I have a day or a meal that is unknown I don't sweat it, I'll end up making up for it
  • It might not be the answer you want, the diabetic educators in the practice I worked in would recommend to all diabetics and pre-diabetics to try the hardest to not drink your carbs/calories because you can lose count. They advised drinking a glass of dairy, soda, etc to be seen as an occasional treat instead of something…
  • I LOVE sweet. I've had the most luck including fruit with almost every meal/snack time and budgeting for something "sweet" at bedtime. My breakfast is coffee with a measured amount of creamer (I eat my food in 4 meals in the afternoon/eve). I usually have a half a grapefruit with lunch, or some fresh berries...I like have…
  • It used to, but I'm doing a lot better this time around. If I know an event is coming up that day I eat pretty light leading up and if I can plan ahead I do...if not then I set a mental expectation. If I haven't gone over calories in a week or so I might budget myself to net a couple hundred over maintenance. I've found by…
  • I keep some calories for a nighttime snack...it's actually a big motivator for me to work out when I don't feel like it. I think last night was the first night I didn't feel like having one in a couple weeks
  • My biggest "binge" trigger times are mid afternoon and bedtime....I now have ALL of my calories in 4 meals between noon and about 9pm, or one decent meal every 2.5 hours or so. I plan lunch and dinner in advance and I use leftover calories and exercise for my 3pm and bedtime "meal." 3pm is usually a fruit, a protein, and a…
  • I think some people just do better on lower amounts. I know in the past when I would do "challenge groups" for an unnamed MLM company lol, I would be DYING eating in the calorie bracket above what I was "supposed to," and others were complaining on how hard it was to meet the 1200-1400 calorie amount. I never understood it…
