I like the popped popcorn at aldi. Its like $2 for a big bag and a serving is about 35cals. That could be good with a diet soda if that is your thing or a selzer or plain water. Its not a buttery obv as the movies...but at least for me it doesn't give me a terrible stomach ache either

I am just recently finding workout activities that I actually think are fun and can stick with. I remember those things being a good ab workout when I was a teen (I get vertigo now so no spinning to me!). For me its cardio hip hop dance videos

I'm not turning 40....but I am closing in on 30 and would like to start the decade in great shape

I think that THIS thought process is setting yourself up to fail. You mention you are an emotional eater (me too!). If you deprive too much your biology will make you more hungry and you are way more likely to overeat...and because you are an emotional eater you are more likely to beat yourself up for "failing" and thus…

For better or for worse....whatever method you use to lose the weight you (in general) need to keep up once you've lost the weight. When I was 19 I would lose weight with shakes and other liquid replacements...and then would gain it all back when I stopped. Now at 29 I work as an ER nurse and often don't get a chance to…

If PT says 2000, but you think 1200 is too low, why not try in the middle? Try something like 1800 cals for a week or two. If the scale doesn't budge, try 1600 for a couple weeks, etc.

Omg you are amazing! How did I not know this site existed?!

Light snacks during your shift will help with sleepiness. When I worked 11p-7a I had breakfast at about 330-430a when I was most tired (and usually really hungry), sleep at 8a, I would have a light lunch when I woke up around 2-3p and I would have a good dinner around 7p and would have 2 or 3 small snacks (a package of PB…

Do what works for you. I get hypoglycemic and I've found that having some saturated fat sources (like bacon and eggs) helps me keep my sugars stable. I like to eat unsaturated sources like olive oil, avocados, etc because I like them

I tried and failed a lot. I also had the wrong mentality. I would berate myself all the time and my goal was to be "skinny." Now I'm hitting 30 this year and my goal is to lower my blood pressure and cholesterol and be strong so I can work as a nurse without injuring myself, chase after my kids, and try to be the patient I…

Morning weights will fluctuate based on where in your cycle you are, what you are, exercises etc. FWIW. When I first start working out I will usually gain weight weeks 2-3, and then weeks 4-5 I drop a bit.

I'm looking to lose about 20 too!

I think you look great! Don't overdo it at the end. I got to visually exactly what I wanted about 1.5m before the wedding....and the busy area was so loose you could see my boobs. It was bad. I actually had to gain about 5 pounds back just so the dress wasn't ridiculously big

#1, gained 48. Lost 44 and regained 6 #2 gained 27, lost all 27. Breastfed both. I've never been what I weighed at the beginning again, and regardless of if I gained 27 or 44 I weighed the same at 1, 3, 6 and 9 months post-baby

Wear what you want! Skinny people don't have to wear two pieces any more than overweight people/those with stretch marks have to wear a one piece

I don't crash that low (I go to high 40-low 50) but I crash. My diet is more fat/protein than carbs (I seem to do the best at 35% carbs or so) and I plan my cardio and workouts for right after my biggest meal of the day, and I eat to "need." As soon as I start to feel symptomatic the workout gets paused....I grab some…

I'll second the others on getting an accurate diagnosis and treatment (PT, etc) and lowering the impact with swimming, elliptical, walking, etc. a friend of mine who is disabled and can't walk independently getting a pretty good cardio workout doing boxing type punches and hand bike type exercises
-
80% of the weight loss will be your diet (you cannot out train a bad diet). This was the hardest for me to learn. When I was at PF I used to start with some cardio (arc trainer, treadmill, etc) and then I would go to the circuit section and I would do circuits. I found that simple as a beginner. I personally don't get a…

I'm super unfit in the cardio vascular department and I usually throw in the towel because too high intensity gives me migraines....I've had to accept that a lower intensity was better than nothing. I'll do cardio for a few mins until I feel run down, switch/modify the intensity (walking March versus jog in place, walk…

From working as a nurse in family practice...I have personally only ever had to call two people ever to stop taking any D supplements because the levels were too high (over 100). That's out of...literally thousands. Usually if it is high is it because of something else in your body. HOWEVER, it's always good to get a test…

I remember a woman posting on a baby forum...shes a physio/post partum exercise person. I think her website is something like befitmon or something. She has good exercises that help to knit those back together. Obviously it will only go so far...but its a good place to start without causing further damage

My motivation has been long term health. I'm 29, mildly overweight and my numbers are suffering. I work in primary care as a nurse and trust me, at 50 a healthy person and an unhealthy person are still relatively similar, in about 4-5 years that is going to change. The older we get the more it shows. It's the difference…

I have the same problem. Once I get started I do really well and I keep it up for awhile but if I get off track I stay off track for months. What's helped me the most is just thinking about my age. I'm still youngish (29)...but I know I'm not like "young" anymore and after two kids I can't have a flat midsection by…

Ha! Some of the providers I would work with would just prescribe the two meds individually because most of our patients couldn't get it covered by insurance and it would be 100s. When we did it separate it would be like $30/m.
-
I have not taken it personally but I worked in an office that prescribed it for a few years. I'll be honest....I really did not see many patients having success with this....but I think the issue was more that they had a mentality of "Can't I just take a pill to lose weight?!" and most of them came to their follow up weigh…

I lost nothing....I also had no pain and tried to eat chicken strips at applebees like 3 days after surgery and the first day or two my mom kept giving me giant bowls of egg salad (you know...tons of egg and mayo) in a bowl. I seriously could not eat egg salad for a good decade after that

I feel like finishing every day with a net of 800 calories is just not sustainable with that level of working out...unless you are like 4ft 9 or something.
-
there's a lot of ways to modify. My issue that I have is that after I had my first I had a lot of issues related to pelvic floor damage and stress. I'm only 29 and if I ignore this and do a bunch of jumping type things (running, jumping jacks, etc) i could need surgery some day....so I just change what I do. When a workout…

LOVE this, and I always say the same thing to people I know IRL and it makes me crazy. I never did protein shakes in the past until....idk...I just started liking having them as a midmorning snack (I don't usually eat breakfast to save more for dinner and putting coffee in my shake helps me have an extra cup of coffee…

I actually really like the "resolutioners." I like them on here because even with some repeats of dead horse topics I see new recipes, etc and it shakes up things. I am also really motivated by seeing other people being motivated. I work out harder in a full gym than an empty one (I think because seeing other people push…
