Yoga and/or Pilates! Under Dr's advice, mind you. I know a great online yoga class, so you can download & do it when it suits you: Google Namaste Yoga, or Dr Melissa West. If you go this way, I would also recmmend a few "real person"classes at least when you start, to ensure you are doing the poses correctly. Good luck!

I've just come back from 3 weeks in Okinawa & actually lost weight! I ate more Japanese food, ie, fresh fish & veg, rice (plain, not fired), & avoided the fried stuff. Find a way to keep active - have you tried any martial arts? Gambate!

what excellent news! Well done!

perhaps a good idea would be to schedule in some extra activity to follow the big debauchery - make that a fun event you can also look forward to. I have found that even when I do "let myslef go" for special social events (key word here is "special"), I am still aware of my intake. I haven't logged every food item , but…

Ed, that was so sweet! I think we all need these pick-me-ups! Glad to hear your dear son is on the mend. Keep those good vibes flowing... Lisa

Good for you! I hope you'll find it really motivating - I know I do. All the best :-) Lisa

Welcome back & well done. You can probably tell how supportive this community is - we're all behind you. Just getting here & getting started is a big step. Keep up the great work!

something sweet for me! I tend to go for a cup of Ovaltine before bed & that does it.

I can definitely sympathise with you. I'm roughly the same size & shape as you, and although we may not all have as many lbs/kgs to lose as others, it is proportionate. At least you're here, working on it! Well done!
-
nice work! I am in a similar position - have wieght to lose, but not a great deal. This keeps me honest & accountable, and helps me think twice before overeating/skipping my excercise.

I'm on both, however no longer link MFP updates to FB - although I'm proud of my efforts so far, I doubt everyone else wants to read every time I complete my daily log...
-
welcome - and nice quote! All the best on your journey :-) Lisa

Thanks, Goron & Mando - I'll have another look :-)

I have it on my phone but couldn't figure it out! (this will sound really dumb, but) do I need to have Nikes or something to activate it or can it just run, regardless of what gear we have?
-
yep, all your comments are basically what what I think, too. It's better to err on the side of more calories than less. Thanks, y'all (although I'll still be interested to know if anyone "knows"). :-) L

sounds very yum! will give it a try - thanks :-) Lisa

how exciting! I haven't felt my hipbones since high school. You've inspired me.

I have read the suggestion of skim milk - drinking a nice, big, cold glass within "the magic hour" after training...
-
Big congrats, anyway! Re-post if you do get the pics up, please :-)

no answer for you, just sy,pathy. I fine it worst for me when I'm running in the cold, but it can happen anytime I'm breathing hard (excercising!!). I have put it down to me needing more cardio training, but would love to hear any suggestions. & congrats on achieving your goal weight, and sticking with this! :-) L

I have no idea, but they sound like fun! And if it's fun, you'll do it more...Interested to find out.

that is really impressive! Well done. On the subject of emotions, I don't know yet - it's still too early in my journey. Makes sense though - lots of changes happening, including the emotional ones connected with food/comfort/eating/old habits... Hang in there!

Congrats! well done :-)
