I suggest you look into herbal tea infusions. the infusion process makes generous vitamins/minerals contained in nettle, oat straw, and/or alfalfa very assimilable. here's a good place to start learning: https://www.wildwoodinstitute.com/articles/long-herbal-infusions.html

hi there... we are similar age, situation, and goals. I have been on MFP since NOV 2012 and lost 35 pounds, but have put 10 back on... and haven't really shifted any weight in over a year, but i haven't been consistent with my logging either. Thankfully I have a nice set of friends that have stuck with me... feel free to…

carbs --> 25% --> not a low carber, but i would rather eat more fat! :) fat --> 45% --> only healthy fats: olive oil, pastured lard and tallow, coconut oil... absolutely no canola, soy, corn. protein --> 30% --> try to get 100g daily potassium --> i use this metric to ensure i am eating my veggies. BTW-- ever wonder why…

hi there... i am 53, and i will be soon reaching my first year in menopause (unless auntie flo makes a surprise visit, then clock starts over again!). I have been working at losing weight for 2.5 years... and I, too, was worried about the menopause barring me from weight loss at the beginning of my endeavor.. you hear so…

hi there-- i lost 30lbs and have been stuck since NOV! I know exactly how you feel: frustrated and hard to keep motivated... but i decided to change my attitude: i figured a 30lb loss for me represents a 15% reduction in body weight, so my body probably thinks i am in some sort of famine... and with winter coming up, it…

i have the 49" bellicon (yes, i spent a ton)... but it has been a GREAT investment. I did this instead of gym membership... and i use it daily. It is a very good workout and helps with your lymphatic system circulation. I got the large model because it allows a lot more movement, so you can change up your workout quite…

good for you!! i am 5'4"... and we had the same starting weight... it is amazing how much difference weight loss can make on our small frames. i have plateaued now at 169, which was initially driving me crazy... but now i have decided to maintain for awhile and work on strength training. keep up the good work!

such a GREAT attitude... your plan seems very feasible, so i know you will meet your bday goal. regarding depression, i battled it a few years ago... they tried EVERY anti-depressant, and the only thing it helped was with gaining weight (and lots of it). turns out, i am one of the LUCKY ones (and i truly mean this)... the…

olive oil for salads and homemade mayonnaise (never touch the store bought stuff), homemade ghee, pastured lard and tallow for frying, and coconut oil for my face, chai tea, and oil pulling. just say NO to vegetable oils (except olive)... they are industrial poisons in my opinion. but do some reading and make your own…

hi there-- agree with the other poster: body composition, not scale weight should be your focus, you can carry a lot of weight if you have lots of muscle mass. That said, your measurements are telling... in general, a waist size of 34" or bigger is indicator for heart disease... another indicator is waist/hip ratio. at 38"…
