  • I love the feeling i get after a great run, the giddiness, the burn in my muscles, the deep breath that its done, and the floaty feeling for the rest of the day. The sometimes pain the next day depending on the distance. Setting of goals for races, the feeling of crossing the finish line, even if you have to crawl …
  • Awesome report!!! you did a great job and should be damn proud!!
  • You will do ti and you will love it, maybe not at first, but when you get that first runners high you will be hooked. Great job for putting it out there and knowing that now you will have to commit

  • I wish you all the luck, I am doing the half at the same event!!
  • I have a half in 20 days :noway: eeekkkk!!!!! Feb. 2 Another one on May 4th. Maybe a couple of 5 or 10ks in between, and I might be thinking of doing a couple more races later in the year. I need to get past these 2 halfs first.
  • ^^^ This but also adding, Have you or your husband tried contacting FITBIT themselves? I have heard that they have really great customer service, but I don't have the problems myself

  • it does, I know that is how I felt when I was doing the c25k, its still how I feel sometimes on longer runs
  • seriously huh?? Maybe that would motivate me more to run when its cold out  Great links for training, thanks for posting
  • OMG that is a lot in four days!! You are awesome!!
  • taking it easy due to the sore knee, I managed to get in 3.11 miles on the recumbent bike on Saturday 1/11
  • They say getting your heart rate up for brief periods of time is good. That being said, I am obese as well, when I started C25k I had a really hard time with it and there were periods where my heart rate was getting just as high as yours if not higher. I just did what I could. And I extended out the weeks a little bit as…
  • OMG NO!! I would kill to be able to maintain a 12 minute mile pace. I am a slow runner and am lucky if I can maintain a 15 minute mile consistently. That is awesome!!! You should not compare yourself to others, we are all built differently and have different conditioning. Just keep going and you will eventually get better…
  • I have also read that you should do at least some of your training "long runs" on the same day of the week that your actual race will be on. Also the weather conditions will matter as well, if your race is early AM then I would try getting in some runs in the morning as well, or if racing in the evening then train a few…
  • I have read a couple of his books and have implemented the run/walk/run method and it really does help. You do save energy and it helps to let your sore muscles get a little recovery in with each walk break.
  • duplicate post
  • adding them to smoothies, making banana dippers and just eating them yourself are all good choices. they are great after runs or just before a workout.
  • ^^^ This is what I have done in the past. you get the best of both worlds
  • I have had this problem a few times. And it does suck, "runners trots" as they call them are no fun and can really put a hamper on your run. I have learned that with me personally, if i am going to run, it needs to be early in the morning, after I have moved around a bit and had the chance to "GO". After that I do fine. If…
  • That is awesome!!!I have heard they have really good customer service. But that is a great surprise!!
  • I had wondered about this as well, but have known that just because a food does not list potassium on the nutrition label does not mean there is none in it. Its just not one of the "must" things to have indicated.. Some companies are starting to add this on the label, however not very many that I have found. Just know that…
  • A sore knee has me out right now. But I will get back on track one its starts to feel better. You all are kicking some butt keep up the great work!!
  • You are a beast!!

  • the program works!!! its set up to take you slowly and build you up to run the distances. Even if you think you cant do the 20 minute run in week 5, don' doubt yourself you can do it, you have been training to do it. Just go slow and listen to your body. Get proper fitting shoes take your time and go with the flow, don't…
  • the entry is there I would just fiddle with the amount of time though since you weren't actually shoveling the whole time
  • I personally only weigh once a week. I tried the every day thing and it was not for me, even though I understood the daily fluctuations that happen, I still found it discouraging. So I weight in once a week, day of my choosing, which happens to be Wednesday. I weigh in first thing in the am with no food or water in my…
  • I am really liking this one..
