1. to fit into every piece of clothing I've saved in my closet and have not touched in 10-13 years. 2. to run a real race. 3. to have visible muscles in my back and arms. 4. to have pointy elbows and knees (omg, knees!) 5. to be able to cross my legs once at the knees, twice at the ankles. 6. to wear a bathing suit…

Sorry to hear about the winter gain. I've been there many times. Here's to getting the weight off quickly and continuing your work. Soon this will be just a small blip in your story!

These are all wonderful. Thanks for clarifying CICO!
-
Great advice. But what is CICO? :)

Shannon, I have had one of your blogs bookmarked in my Chrome for about a year and read it once in a while (to give you an idea of how far-reaching your posts are). I needed to see an update like this today. Although I have been on mfp for a long time, I have actually gained weight overall. I haven't exercised, though I…

You already look amazing and have a really lovely shape!

Great job, Zyphun!

You look amazing! So inspirational.

I want to update on this in case it's helpful to others. Since I posted here, I got a new scale that's easier for me to use (it's bigger and has a big bowl) and started writing down EVERYTHING I eat, no matter how tiny. I realized that my 1 cup was 1.3 cups and that I didn't always count greens and vegetable. I was…

Cerad, I really appreciate your comments and I think your logic is on-point. I agree with you that measuring is irrelevant if the goal is to lose weight and if one is in fact losing weight. I completely agree with you and I would not be concerned about tracking if I was losing just a little bit more. I am definitely eating…

I know that I do not have thyroid problems. I am not logging accurately and this thread has been a great kick in the butt. Thanks very much for all the thoughtfulness in all the posts.

Thanks again, everyone! I just ordered a new mechanical scale. One of the reasons I don't use my scale faithfully is because I'm always out of batteries. Neither is a fancy scale so I'm glad there's something I can do inexpensively and easily and I can't wait to see what happens in the next month or so. Thank you for all…

Thanks, I just entered all my numbers and if I eat 1,400 calories but track exactly I should be good. Which is great. Thanks for sharing that!
-
You're right, I just meant that I have lost a little bit of weight so overall, I have eaten at a slight deficit. Am I looking at it wrong?
-
Cerad, you might be right and I definitely like the acknowledgment that I am eating at some deficit :). I think the issue is that I would like to lose a little bit faster or more consistently. Based on how much effort I feel like I put in and how little I eat (much less than I would like or used to) I would like to see…

Thank you all! You are right and I needed to hear it. I am not religious about weighing and I do estimate quite a bit. That video is awesome and v convincing. I am going to weigh as much as I possibly can for the next 50 days and compare. Thanks, everyone!

Danilynn, I'm sorry about your thyroid and I'm glad you are working to figure things out. I do not have a thyroid problem and have no medical issues, no high cholesterol, nothing. The only thing is that my glucose was 94 at my last bloodwork but it was not after fasting and even then it's not very high. Getting new…

I am 5'3, currently 194. I exercise very irregularly and not seriously. I used to be a consistent weightlifter and I know that what I'm doing now is nothing, so I would count myself as sedentary.
-
Thank you everyone. I don't have a thyroid problem. I guess I do know it's the way I log, I just feel like I overestimate a lot. I do use a food scale but not for everything I eat because sometimes it's not feasible and sometimes I'm lazy about it. Then I quickadd some calories to make sure I overestimate. But not always.…

Congratulations on your loss. You did it once and you can do it again. I will send you a friend request, feel free to accept if you want!

Not only do you look healthy and happy, but you look 15 years younger compared to your first picture. I am always astounded at how much younger people look after losing weight. I don't mean this in a young-is-better way, just as a point of fact.

You look wonderful, congratulations!

Thanks, everyone.

Thanks, Kate. Sodium is not one of my things, thankfully, and I'm usually way under, but always use up my sugar and fat, so I want to weigh for a while and learn portion sizes. This is very helpful.

Thanks! Sorry, I searched but didn't see it.

Nice! I didn't know I can enter USDA in the search box! Thanks again everyone!

Thank you everyone! I didn't know about the user confirmation. I will have to use recipes more and not worry about every calorie?
