Going to enjoy my rest day and get outside. It’s been rainy this past week and today is a nice sunny break before it starts up again. And I think I might have a strawberry plant starting to grow

It sounds like a good workout. I can’t afford it though. The location by me has a “Special” for $300 for 3 months. If $100 a month is the special price, I’m a little nervous to see what normal pricing is. The rest of the gyms around me range from $36-40 a month which fits easily into my budget.

Maintenance is hard. That’s really all there is to it. Some people choose to crash diet or go on temporary diets that eliminate some of their favorite foods to lose weight and while it does result in weight loss it isn’t something they keep up with into maintenance which results in gaining back weight when they revert to…

Depends on the coffee. Death wish brand for example is insanely high in caffeine (apparently it has roughly 728 mg in 12oz).

Huh? If your talking about by comment on being sensitive to preworkouts, some make my skin red and feel like it’s on fire about 20-30 mins after I drink them. Edit: oh...nvm. Just saw the comment about teeth itching. Interesting...

I am a coffee drinker. I have used preworkout in the past and don’t see a problem with it (I am sensitive to some brands though). For me coffee is cheaper and I get the same effect.

Agreed. It’s really hard to guess without knowing anything about what you did and your stats. Yesterday I did 15 mins of incline intervals (low 8% for 30 secs - high 14% for 2 mins) at 3 mph. Treadmill said about 100 calories and watch said about 129. Not a lot of difference. Online calculators tell me around 108 with my…

We all start somewhere. You need to find a program that is designed for beginners that also incorporates equipment you have access to. The best part about programs is that they tell you what to do and when. There’s actually a really nice list of strength programs compiled here on MFP.…

Its one of those things that not everyone can achieve (like thigh gaps). It just depends on your genetics. My waist as an adult has never been smaller than 26” (66.04 cm). I don’t think it’s possible for me to get any smaller with the way my body is built. Even now my waist is 27.5” (69.84 cm). I would like to cut a bit of…

I’m shorter than you (5’4.5”). So I can definitely see you maintaining on 2000 or possibly even more.
-
Honestly you might even need more than that. I personally eat around 2000 for weight loss. The only way to know for sure though is going to be upping your intake and seeing what happens after 4-6 weeks.

One thing that I think is important to know: Your Fitbit adjustment is not for the number of steps you did. It’s a calorie burn comparison. Fitbit is saying based on whatever you did today you burned 345 calories more than MFP expected you to based on your activity level setting (10,000 steps is about MFPS Active setting).…

Calipers I’ve heard are better, but also prone to user error. Bod Pod, Dexa, and Hydrostatic Weighing I believe are the top 3 methods for Body Fat.

I don’t see why not.

For me it was more about creating shape not necessarily size. After weight loss mine was flat and saggy looking. Though I admit in my quest for shape I added a bit of size to my thighs and backside, but I think I look better with the added shape and size than I did without.

How big of a deficit are you set to? Are you using a TDEE - % calculation for your goal or MFPS method? If using MFPs method are you eating any extra calories to account for your training?
-
I lost weight just fine eating calories from walking. Having too large of a deficit because people don’t account for this type of exercise/activity can actually make it harder for people to stick to their calorie goals.

I guess it depends on what you mean by that. I use an activity tracker to adjust my calorie goal based on my activity. So on days I am inactive I might have calories taken away. I will only see extra calories added when I am more active than my activity level setting regardless of how I achieved the activity. In other…

My oldest took forever to potty train. He did eventually get it down but it’s hard to say if that was a result of some development delays (he was a preemie) or if he just wanted to do it on his own terms. He also went through a painting with poop on the wall phase. His little brother on the other hand was quick. He hated…

If it’s connected it automatically sends them over. That said occasionally there will be sync delays between the two sites. If on the website your steps will show up under progress area. If on the app they show up under your calorie goal on the home page. You do have to make sure Fitbit is selected as your step source in…

@quiksylver296 Thanks :) I was actually really surprised by how much improvement I saw with the program. Everyone always says squats, but for me I needed more than just squats to actually get some shape there.
