Bumping to research some of these answers later

I do weekly food prep on Sundays so I can bring my lunch for work as well. I switch it up so I don't get bored so, depending on the week, I will make a big pot of turkey chili, some sort of soup or stew, enchiladas, other casseroles, pasta dishes, etc. then portion it out in tupperware containers for the week. I will also…

This looks great! I'm definitely trying this! I'm not vegan but I love tofu. I do a lot of tofu and veggie stir fry and am interested in other good tofu recipes. One if my vegan friends referred me to the website fatfreevegan.com for more recipes!

I have a huge mug collection and change it up depending on the day and my mood. I use my Christmas mugs all year because I love Christmas and I have great Christmas mugs. One of the best ones says across the bottom "Christmas makes me jolly!" and there's a scene on it of Santa and Rudolph outside in the snow. Santa is in…

I'd like some of both please!

I'm in month two of Insanity and I haven't followed the Insanity nutrition guide (have just been tracking calories and macro/micronutrients here on MFP) but the nutrition guide does give you a formula to figure out your calorie goals and you can find it online here:…

Hahaha, if I am having a bad day and really need to hear that I'm pretty, I totally do this (well, not literally screaming). Works every time

Thanks for sharing! I'm definitely going to try this!

My boyfriend knows I'm an emotional eater so I've told him if he knows I'm in a bad mood and he sees me reaching for junk food to call me out on it and he does. Having that accountability really helps. I remember one time during a particularly stressful time at work (going through layoffs) we were at the store and I…

I've seen advertisements for cookbooks for parents with recipes that "hide" vegetables to get their kids to eat vegetables without knowing it. Like adding puréed spinach to meatloaf or something. Maybe something like that would help you! :)

Also, I'm 5'3" and eat between 1800-2000 calories a day, depending on which workout it was and if I did anything else strenuous that day.

I'm in week three of month two of Insanity and I have been consistently fluctuating between 138-140 for awhile now, upwards on 140-143 after a day of high sodium, certain days of the month, water retention from muscle soreness, etc. However, I have lost several inches all over my body and when I compare my "before" pics to…

Agreed with this. Also, my best friend and I are both on a weight loss/developing a healthy lifestyle journey and we both go through our really good times and both go through our struggles, but even if one of us is struggling, we share and celebrate the other one's scale and non-scale victories with them. She's at fifty…

Running 5k tomorrow in solidarity.

I would love to hear the replies on this because that's exactly what I've been planning on doing when I finish Insanity in a week and a half. I will also be training for a 10k at the same time.

"I eat hills for breakfast."

Nice :)

Not yet but Jameson + Coke Zero + Arrested Development = pretty decent Friday night.

Maybe go running with him? Or, if it's "not cool" to run with mom, is there a male figure like dad, uncle, cousin, family friend, that could run or do pick up games with him? If it's a fun, social activity with someone he wants to spend time with, that might get him interested.
-
Yup, just do it! I used to be so self-conscious about running outside as well but every time I went, my confidence went up. Put some headphones in, wear good shoes and comfy clothes, and just go. I guarantee that anyone else outside running thinks it's cool whenever they see anyone else running, no matter their speed or…
-
Yup. All of this.

I understand why you don't want to put yourself in a tempting situation but as others have said, we all have to learn to deal with these social situations and get through it without going overboard. I would do what others have said: eat healthy all day in advance, get a good workout in, drink lots of water, and enjoy…

This is a great list. Adding more calorie dense foods like these will give you nutrients and calories without a lot of bulk. Also, cook or dress things with olive oil--120 cals per tablespoon. If you don't weigh and measure your food, it's also possible you're consuming more than you think. We tend to underestimate our…

Bump. I wish I had seen this on my first day here! This should be required reading, along with the Road Map, for week one of MFP. Thanks, OP.

Seriously. In for some entertainment.

I love IT crowd. Do not love when people ask for but don't listen to sound advice, which is why I rarely respond.

Sounds good!

Yes.

I'm six weeks into Insanity right now and though the scale hasn't moved much, I've lost inches all over and my stomach is noticeably smaller/flatter. Make sure you eat enough to fuel the workouts! Eating very low calories while doing Insanity is counter-productive. I am 5'3", 139 pounds, and ate 1700-1800 cals during the…

Bump :)
