  • I finished c25k 2 days ago. I have a 5km Park Run next Saturday and am looking forward to it. Went out today and did 4.8km - My GPS screwed up otherwise it would have been 5km. No pictures but I have lost between 68-70lbs since I started MFP (It varies). Probably 20lbs of that would have been from running.
  • WOW! You look so much younger!!! Incredible!
  • It was taken one day ago...
  • When i first started I weighed in twice a day. Now I just weigh myself every morning. It makes me really aware of what my body is doing and means I keep a very close eye on things. I have a withings scale which links to fitbit and MFP and I follow it in trendweight.com so that I am following weight trends rather than…
  • I walked all 26 locations on the Monopoly Board around London...
  • I graduated from c25k this morning... I'm a runner :)
  • Have to agree with this... Don't think I have ever worn one in my life and I doubt I ever will. It's just not for me.
  • That's a great idea!
  • Yep - I live in London and have a (real life) friend in Sydney. I have been pretty slack over the last couple of weeks. She rang me yesterday and gave me a right kicking :) I needed it!!! I even wrote a blog post about it last night... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/ozigal
  • http://www.fitbit.com/uk/comparison/trackers That should help :)
  • There is a trick for this one... put the fitbit in your sock :)
  • I have a fitbit as well and I use trendweight.com for weight trends in the same way the OP does. I don't count any exercise that my fitbit doesnt register and my results are very similar to the OP. The way I see it, if I burn extra calories and fitbit doesnt pick it up... bonus! That's more weight lost not more food for my…
  • I didn't have weight loss surgery but I did look into it. If anything I think it is probably as hard, if not harder and certainly riskier than losing weight by diet and exercise alone. Aside from actually having the surgery and the added complications that can bring, eg slipping of the band etc, you STILL have to control…
  • It's not that unusual for you not to see the changes yourself. Someone posted a very similar topic a little while ago: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/890815-anyone-lose-a-lot-but-not-see-a-difference-in-the-mirror Hopefully that might help you. I STILL don't see my weight loss when I look in the mirror but lots of…

  • Thanks... Do you know I have been so focused on the Park Run that I hadnt even thought about the fact that I finish c25k on Friday until I read your post... You are right though! It is something to celebrate and be proud of. Sometimes I think we can get so focused on something that we forget to celebrate the victories…
  • Well done! That's a great achievement. I'm looking forward to being able to say exactly the same thing on Friday... just one more run to do. I'm then planning 3 runs before doing my first Park Run (timed) on 18th May. Hope you do well on Saturday and good luck with your sub 33 mins :)
  • Gait analysis is usually free. Seriously... get it done! If you tell any of those shops I sent you at the beginning what your budget is, they will try and fit you to the appropriate pair of shoes. If you can't afford them, get online and have a look for them at a cheaper price after you have sorted the gait and sizing out.…
  • Interesting!!! Thanks for that!! I got mine in Sweat Shop in Stratford. Great service and they did the gait analysis and fitting. I was in there for over an hour getting my first pair of shoes done. Couldnt recommend them more if anyone is East London side!
  • Try these guys: http://www.coventryrunner.co.uk/ or http://www.runnersneed.com/store/content/fcp-content or http://www.sweatshop.co.uk/stores Get a gait analysis done before you buy the shoes. It makes a LOT of difference!
  • Without doubt... The Blues Brothers! It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses
  • I still read fb but am not in it as much as I was. I tend to spend more time on MFP these days and respond to stuff on here. Priorities have changed :) Who knew that would happen?
  • Nope... don't cut it out completely because there are times that you might want that stuff. Short and sweet of it is that if you want it, have some BUT have it in moderation and make sure it fits into your daily calorie allowance. If you don't there is a chance that you may end up bingeing. At least learning moderation…
  • 5 days? And you honestly expect to see some results?? WOW! You would have hated to have been me! For the first month that I changed my food and exercised more I actually put on weight!!! Realistically you have been given some EXCELLENT advice in this thread. Patience is essential and making sure that you actually eat the…
  • ^^^^ Exactly... if you have the right shoes you are less prone to injury. SweatShop in the UK did my ones. The bonus with Sweatshop is that if the shoes are wrong or you start having problems you can take them back for up to a month afterwards regardless of how many times you have used them. I find that having the paid so…
  • Go to somewhere like Sweat Shop or Runner's Need (or one of those shops) and get a proper gait analysis done. Get them to fit you for shoes so you know which brand/model to buy and then go and buy the same thing on the internet for less :) http://www.sweatshop.co.uk/stores…
  • Yep - 8oz cups or a minimum of 4 pint glasses a day which isnt a lot really.
  • Love it!! Well done! :)
  • This is the UK calorie count for pizza express. http://www.pizzaexpress.com/uploads/documents/calorie.pdf At 800+ calories per pizza there is very little on this menu that I would consider eating. That's most of my daily calorie count on one pizza... no thanks!
  • Have a look at meetup.com - They have a lot of walking groups on there and do heaps of longer walks over the weekends. I know quite a few people who get out and use them. Rambers also organise heaps of walks... Worth checking out both of them. You never know - you might get to see parts of London you have never seen before…
  • Read your previous post from a couple of weeks ago where you had started 30DS and failed to continue. Sounds like 30DS isnt working for you (ie. you dont have the motivation or interest to do it). Ultimately if you want to lose the weight badly enough you will. You cant control where the weight goes from though. It doesnt…
