100% agree.. Rundouble on Android. Love it. Am on week 8 and just did day 1. Really like the tracking and that I can configure it to tell me splits as frequently as I like which means that where I am now I can keep a really good idea of my pace. (You dont need that bit at the beginning but towards the end, it's useful)

water, water, water and more water! I drink an absolute minimum of 4 pint glasses of water a day. Stops me feeling hungry. Takes a bit of getting used to at first and you will feel cold but it makes a huge difference!

Well done on getting to where you are now! I've just finished week 7 and did 3.23km in 25 minutes today. There is no way I will do 5km in 30mins and I'm not aiming for it. At my current pace, it would take me over 38 minutes. (If I could run for that amount of time at the pace I am now). My goal is to be able to run 5km in…

I'm 45 and 5'6" tall and fractured my kneecap 15 years ago. The last time I ran was as a teenager. I started my weight loss at 110kg (242.5lbs) and I walked everyday for 5 miles. When I got down to 88kg I started c25k. I'm now on week 7, my weight is down to 79kg and my goal is 70kg. I do c25k every second day giving me a…

Those were the days :) Never ate breakfast at home. Would have a whole milk grande latte at work and a bacon baguette at work with extra bacon and extra ketchup. Now I can't even remember the last time I had a bacon sandwich! Lunch would be takeaway or at a restaurant. Probably Chinese or Italian. If it was in the work…

A friend of mine who has been though all of this already and kept her weight off for 4 years so far, gave me some really great advice. She said that as you buy smaller clothes, throw the old ones away. Her reasoning was that if you keep the larger clothes, when you reach your goal weight and if you begin to put on weight…

That's fantastic! I've been doing Couch to 5km (c25k) and am now up to week 7. That means I get to do a 25 minute run today. Can't say I am at a point where I enjoy it yet but I have committed myself to a 5km run in London on 18th May and a 5 mile run on 21st July that ends in the London Olympic Stadium. My aim is to be…

-What was your starting weight? 242.5lbs -What's your target? Initial target to get out of the Obese category - Achieved 2nd April. Current target to hit Healthy weight level 154lbs - expected July/August 2012. Will re-evaluate from there. -What are you now? 175lbs -How many calories/day do you consume? 1200 and I rarely…

I can so relate to everything in this thread. I KNOW I have lost weight but I really can't see it myself. I can feel bones I never knew I had so in that respect I know but looking in the mirror, I can't see a difference. I've been thinking that maybe I need to go out with some friends and get them to point out to me people…

I guess the reality is you don't HAVE to have surgery. It's whether or not you choose to based on how comfortable you feel about yourself. So here's what's going to happen (most likely)... you lose weight, since you aren't in your 20's or 30's, depending on how much weight you lose and how elastic your skin is, you may…

I did it last weekend... gained 4lbs on Monday. Thankfully it's all gone now!
-
Have to agree... I can feel bones I never knew I had. Hips, ribs, collarbones... apparently I have them :) I never knew that! Body size is noticeably smaller to everyone - except me! I dont see the changes when i look in the mirror. I still see the old obese me. I guess my head isnt there yet. Put my old jeans on last…

I've now got to the point where if I dont exercise in some way I get very cranky and fidgety. I guess that is motivation enough.

seriously? The fitbit counts as one of the best things I have ever purchased. Without it I would have given up in the first week or two. Instead I am 65lbs down and the fitbit was responsible for that!
-
Firstly... with the fitbit... if you have problems with it, email customer support and most likely they will send you another one for free. I have both fitbit and HRM and I use them for different things. I always take my exercise calories from fitbit (walking and running) BUT when i am running, although I have the fitbit…

You arent ugly. He's using emotional backmail on you. Get rid of him. Your confidence is shattered because of him. Talk to your friends. Get some support from them. Re-build your confidence and I guarantee you that the right person will come along. The reason they havent at the moment is purely because they can feel how…

I stay at 1200 and I dont find it difficult anymore. I admit I did at the start. It depends what you eat. Lots of fruit, veg and salads for a starter. A bit of meat... not a lot. No added oil, sugar, salad dressings etc. Instead of salad dressings I will have beetroot with a small steak or chicken breast and lots of salad.…

I was morbidly obese. I started to feel that my life was leaving me behind and that I couldnt keep up with things. If I went out dancing I couldnt dance to more than one song at a time without becoming exhausted. I got to a point where I hated that Katie Perry Fireworks song because I couldnt keep up. My friends would go…

I've travelled to 111 countries. This time last year I was in North Korea (as a tourist). I grew up on a tea and coffee plantation in Papua New Guinea. I have a near phobia of fish bones as a result of being told to be careful that I dont choke on the bones when I was a kid and will only very rarely eat fish (sashimi is an…

Hmmm... Interesting post. I noticed the same things when I started c25k. To resolve it I went and got properly fitted for running shoes. I bought a pair of skins (running compression tights) and I got a knee brace for my dodgy left knee. With everything properly supported it felt a lot better. Yesterday I went for a 20…

I did W5D3 yesterday. The way to get through it is to take it really slow. The first 5 minutes went past pretty quickly. When the app then said I was half way, I couldnt believe it. At 15minutes, I was 3/4 through it and yes, the last couple of minutes were tough. I kept looking at my watch but at that point my head kicked…

Well after a really rubbish weekend where I drank and ate too much and put on 4lbs.... I got out today and ran Week 5, Day 3 of c25k (the first full 20 minute run without any walks) and then I went to the gym and did another hour there. It's made me feel a lot more positive than I did on Sunday evening :)
-
I have just finished my Week 5, Day 3 - 20 minute run. I went SLOW... really slow! In fact it was the 2nd slowest pace I have ever run. My focus was on getting the time done and not on setting any records. I didnt push myself at all. Had someone told me a few weeks ago that I could run for 20 minutes, I would have laughed…

I am the same. My head hasnt come to terms with my body weight. I actually wrote a blog post about it the other day!
-
I did Week 5, day 1 yesterday and found it okay. I was expecting it to be much worse. I actually had a heap of energy left over and ended up running a set of 5x200 metre sprints afterwards. Weight wise I am 182lbs. I did all the gait analysis and new shoes back in week 2. I had problems running week 1, day 2. I couldnt get…

Seriously?? That's not something you want to guess at. Wherever you go, get properly fitted as you will find your size will have changed. You'll thank me for this when you get older :)

The left side is Feb 2012 and the right is 4 weeks and 10lbs ago.

Week 4, Day 3 - Lacking motivation today. I want to do it. I am going to do it. I should have already done it. I know I will feel good once it is done but I cant seem to get my butt up and get ready. Not sure what it is that is making me feel this way!

For me, it was last week @ about 58lbs down. I was down 4 clothing sizes and things were falling off me. My wardrobe now consists of: 4 t'shirts 2 business suits 5 work tops 1 pair jeans 1 fleece 1 coat Figure it will stay that way for a little while yet... or at least until I lose more weight. No point in spending money…
