Such good responses ! For me, the deciding factor was when my boss called me lazy. I don't know why he called me that because I feel that I work harder than my colleagues but I was being called lazy. While trying to wrap my head around this, I concluded (perhaps erroneously?) that surely he must think I'm lazy because of…

As long as you are tracking your calories you will know what has to be done to counteract a few days of unhealthy food. I don't get cravings for fried foods…

We have debates within the Physiology department in which I work about beliefs in weight management and almost always there will be someone that discredits research because of their personal belief about metabolism. The numbers speak for themselves. And 99% of current biomedical research suggests that yes, we are just like…

Many studies show that there is a correlation with obesity related disease and night eating and night shift workers. The mechanism is not really known in humans but scientists think it could be the same as what is observed in these mice.

This is a peer review study and is on the line with data that I saw during a seminar at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. And the only reason I bothered to mention that mice are nocturnal is in case any of you actually wanted to read the abstract of this peer reviewed article. Science also suggests that caloric restriction…

I agree with this comment, research in mice has shown that mice that ate all of their calories at the end of the day gained more weight despite the fact that they ate the same number of calories as mice that ate throughout the day (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1038/oby.2009.264/full) [keep in mind that mice are…
