QFT Lift heavy for sure.

On a slightly separate note but related as it's why I hate going over my calories...even if you are bang on calories the writing turns from friendly green to failure red! You'd understand if you were going over by 100s but to have it turn red even at 0 is a little disheartening. It is to me anyway. :grumble: Surely a…

Like others have said I don't think you're logging accurately. You used two different entries for 4oz of Turkey breast over a couple of days with completely different calories and how little tuna did you eat for just 15calories? It's surely not even worth getting the tin opener out for that! Be careful with what entries…

I'm doing it and so is my 66year old mum

I'm on the last week of C25K and I can't sing it's praises enough. I'd tried running before but always gave up because I tried taking on too much, would try and complete 5k straight off the bat then get frustrated at how unfit I was and give up. Started C25K as my friend and I signed up to the colour run and before we knew…

Yep...since lifting I've found running distances much easier. Bionic legs!! :)

I don't go out so much any more...who can be bothered to change out of pj's?! But I do drink at home with my husband and friends on the weekends. I do need to try and cut it down a bit though as I seem to be finding my weight loss is one step forward, five steps back come Monday!!

Posts like these make me break out a super happy fun dance at my computer!! I started strength training 5 weeks ago and I see women with hawt toned bodies and never imagine that I could look like that too I assume they've always been ripped...born with abs. But then you post this and I see us mere mortals can also achieve…

I think lifting needs to be a lifelong commitment...not necessarily because of the idea of 'muscle turning to fat' but because of the benefits to us as we age. It's great for improving bone density..or at least preserving it and being strong as we age ensures we are able to stay independent for as long as possible. I…

Oh current figures: Squat - 50kg Deadlift - 50kg OHP - 30kg Barbell Row- 40kg Bench - 40kg

Just added you! Been doing Stronglifts 5x5 for 4 weeks now and loving it!
-
Amazing!! I'm in the same boat. No weight lost but did measurements today and had lost pretty much an inch all over :D
-
I face my barbell on the squat rack and duck my head and shoulders under it, stand up straight and walk backwards two steps to do my squats. This way at the end of my reps I can walk into the rack, duck down and the barbell sits back in the rack.

Bump

Amazing!!! You look so much more healthier let alone slimmer :)

You are inspirational!!! :) congratulations

You can add me! I've been doing Stronglifts for 4 weeks now :)

I am currently on the last week of C25K and will continue running after, perhaps moving on to 10k, I love that it's free and easy to fit into my day...I personally wouldn't bother with a gym membership again now! I've also done Jillian Michaels DVDs which are fab. I invested in a barbell, rack and some heavy weights which…

I'm doing Stronglifts 5x5, there are two workouts and you alternate them. 3 lifts in each workout and you do five sets of five reps. I use the app so it's so easy to keep track of your reps and then if you complete the five sets it automatically adjusts your weight for the next time you do that lift...usually goes up in…

FTW!

I run and I lift heavy...but I keep them seperate. Lifting heavy has also really improved my running as my legs are so much stronger now from squats and deadlifts that they just carry me wherever I choose to go!! Practically bionic ;) I suggest you have a look at starting a lifting programme to work alongside your running…

Thank you lovely! And thank you for starting this inspiring thread...made Monday a bit more bearable :)

Bumping to try at some point

Finally managed my 5x5 sets of 27.5kg overhead press...I've been stuck on this weight for nearly 2 weeks but today I completed them with great form. Proof I'm getting stronger :)

Hello from Windsor! :)

These are nearly identical to my ones. They work really well for me, good grip and no callouses.

I breathe through my mouth as my nose runs whilst running. Ultimately unless you're looking to run competitively I wouldn't worry too much about how you're breathing just as long as your comfortable :) I also find if I think too much about my breathing it makes me feel out of breath and I can't get into the 'zone'...I…
