Support I hope :-) If I actually stick to the routine properly, I'll be angling to start Friday so the rest day lines up with Sunday (a day where I am inevitably still recovering from working over the weekend).

That felt so good :-)

Forget the breakdowns, you will have to walk on the spot scratching your head for a little bit trying to get the moves right but you'll figure them all out soon and then you'll really be able to throw yourself into it. Part of me Really wants to see something through from start to finish, the other part does not want to…

Anyone?

Snap (except I've lost all my motivation and I'm sitting on 136). Turbofire for the total exercise win.
-
I shall join you :-)

DANG, that was gonna be my next guess (I had a housemate who was part Philipino, similar complexion and eyebrows). @Kaly not USA (although I'm curious to visit there), try again :-P (us darn anglos, getting all over the place).

I'd try maybe, eating at maintenance for a bit (to kick the binge). HIIT and strength training to kickstart your metabolism and get some muscle on you :-)
-
@dhadha18 Indonesia (or maybe Malaysia)?

5'1, started on 1290, maintaining on 1770 at the moment on the other side of a half a year of HIIT, strength training and cardio. Turbofire and lifting weights are good ways to boost metabolism.

When I'm feeling really flat and demotivated, I do your routine minus the cardio (but still with the warm up). Or I go for a walk or do a really long stretching session. These things feel like the least daunting.

I'm going to hang out on your blog from now on :-D thanks for sharing.

That's very sweetly written. Sounds like you've lost a fine friend :-( RIP Stewart

Michael Pollen describes nutrition science as being like medicine was in the 16th century. Plenty of room for improvement.

I had a crack at day one at home with dumbbells. Every move that required gym equipment, I just plugged the name into google with the word dumbbells added. Maybe we might not get the full benefit that might be obtained doing the move on a machine but at least we are doing something, and it is free. :-)

I wouldn't put a time limit on it. But, the way things worked for me was, I like to eat, I ended up doing a lot of exercise so I could eat as much as I wanted, I also set my daily deficit quite mild, half a pound a week/a daily deficit of 250 calories. After a while, I burnt out doing that much exercise and I still like to…

I stopped nibbling when I realised how calorie dense it it. Agree, if you are going to nibble weigh and track it first.

All things in moderation, ghee is the missing ingredient in making authentic Indian cuisine, you can also use it to make semolina (mmmmm). I treat it like a treat and it can indeed last for years.

If I were to tweak the routine I have already to go more strength less bulk, would that simply be a matter of lifting more, with less repetition?
-
Trying Jamie Eason for now......most of these require gym equipment though, am I likely to be able to find substitute moves that tax the same muscles? Edit: Looks like I'll need heavier weights to get the most out of stronglift

Can any of you fine folk recommend places where I can find routines such as the ones you recommend? (Thank you very much for the replies by the way). I've only got one limitation, no gym access. Heading more in the direction of strength than size would make me very happy :-) (mostly because I want to be able to lift…

When I still hated exercise, I found some basic aerobics DVD in my local video rental store and used that a bit. I haven't been able to find it online but this looks similar http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2237535924076693510 This is enough to get you moving, but not totally strenuous and exhausting. Once you feel…

Only when you have a lot to lose. I recommend strength training and HIIT.

om nom nom

bump Also, Turbofire has a set of strength sessions using resistance bands

Your calorie deficit day by day might be a bit too intense.
