  • Is that some website or is it a part of MFP that I've somehow missed?
  • I eat a handful of cheerios on my way out the door almost every morning.
  • I absolutely agree with you, which is why I posted this topic. I won't stop at JUST the documentary I saw, it was just a starting point. And I think a very good one at that. It pointed out a great number of things that I wasn't truly aware of, including the benefits of eating more raw vegetables. However, I will always…
  • Yeah but I take them before bed, so I'm not peeing them out right away. This way they get all night to absorb.
  • I've had some huge changes in weight as well, and for me at least, water weight can have an awful lot to do with it. Some nights I stay up late and end up drinking almost a gallon of water by midnight. I tend to notice on the following mornings that I will weigh 3-4 pounds more, just because of all the extra fluids.
  • I eat a handful of cheerios in the morning and it absolutely jump-starts MY metabolism. I can feel my stomach grinding and churning out farts, leading up til lunch. I'm usually very hungry by lunch but I am able to control that hunger and still eat healthy throughout the day. I've been losing 2-3 pounds per week for…
  • I used to drink a 12-pack of diet coke every day and then I started getting pain in my chest or heart. It scared the hell outta me and I never went back to diet sodas.
  • Ok then so there's no health benefit to me eating gluten free then? I thought it meant no carbs/sugar.
  • How can ANYONE say that Coke Zero tastes like Coke? It's bizarre how different people have completely different taste buds. I'd suggest going with Regular Coke, and just having a few sips, this way you won't be able to drink the whole thing, and will instead have water!
  • DO NOT compare yourself to people on television. Please. Remember that you only see what the television producers WANT you to see. For all you know these people are crying, throwing up, passing out, and taking long breaks, every time the camera is not rolling, or there is heavy editing. It's not easy for anyone who is out…
  • Doing the exact same exercises everyday sounds ridiculous. I'd assuming she is having you do light intensity workouts? Pushing the exact same muscle groups to failure every day is begging for injury and poor form.
  • I don't use a tape measure, but I do keep track of my waist size by my pants, and specifically my belt. My belt is always at the same spot on my waist and as I go from notch to notch I cheer! Anyhow, probably not the exact answer you were looking for, but I figure the proper place is below the naval because that is where…
  • When I was in the Army we'd run so hard that it would make me vomit afterward, but I never actually got "sick" from working out. I think what is more likely, is that your friend just happened to catch a cold and it happened to really set in that weekend. She may have even caught it from someone at the gym.
  • Why not? You've probably been eating it for years already, and most likely that gland is delicious. When it comes to food, ignorance is bliss.
  • Calorie surplus? I'm currently eating 1400 a day, but I"m "supposed" to eat closer to 2500. Guess I'll have to loose the fat first, then worry about building muscle.
  • From a male perspective: I had a situation like this once. I wasn't sure if I wanted to stick with this girl I was dating or not. Part of me wanted to be single again, part of me though, was afraid to lose her. I think when you find something special it can be extremely hard to think straight and have true clarity. I…
  • Why is it your business how other people's marriages work? If someone wants to prepare a separate meal for their spouse then so be it. The current year has nothing to do with individual preferences regarding meals.
  • 50 rolls for $30? I suspect my definition of a roll is different from yours, because to me, a roll is the entire long roll that they cut into 8 pieces, or bites. Usually at most places, each roll costs about $8, so 50 rolls would cost $400, and if you know a place that is selling $400 worth of sushi for only $30 I'd…
  • Maybe its like this: Could it be that XXX thought you were fat, and the other ladies were aware of your weight loss so were actually laughing at Miss XXX, because she has no idea what she's talking about? That sounds alot more reasonable to me.
  • Amazing! Congratulations!
  • I've had several. Some guy I barely knew at work was joking around and told me that I was getting fat, I noticed a stretch mark on the side of my stomach, and I wanted more energy to play with my sons. But the big one was my aunt getting diabetes. Diabetes is common in my family, but this particular aunt was always in…
  • I usually grab a handful of cheerios on my way out the door, I'm probably eating a little less than 1 serving, but even at 1 serving it's really low on sugar
  • You look amazing I was blown away at the transformation! Keep it up!
  • I spent a full year going to the gym 2-3 times a week and the results weren't that great. I had slightly larger arms and chest, but since I wasn't eating that well that was just about all I had to show for it.
  • I typically do 3-5 sets of around 40 crunches each. Can't really do more than 50-55 at a time without needing to rest for a few.
  • I am in a similar boat. Even when I was in the Army I never had a six pack. For now I'm doing about 20 minutes of cardio a day on an elliptical and about 100-150 crunches after that, and at my gym I also use this Ab-Glider machine after the crunches. If you want to try full situps I'd suggest getting a good mat to lay on…
  • I don't know how you are all set up on this site, but for my Food plan, it also shows my my sugars, and I use that as a forcing function to help limit my sugar intake. I try to eat as few sugars throughout the day as I can and if I'm good, after dinner I'll eat a cookie, and I can usually get away with that. Sometimes I'll…
