  • I regained about 20 over the winter this year, and am still working on dropping it. It was just maddening to have to lose the same pounds all over again. I'm down about 10 now, and finally am not so frustrated when I step back on the scale. You'll definitely get back down - stay patient, and don't let it get to you. Don't…
  • @bmeadows380 garden pics please!!!! I didn't do any squash this year, but have about 30 various pepper plants (mostly hot) and about 15 tomatoes. I love to can green beans, but just didn't save enough room for them this year. I'll have enough to eat fresh, but will have to hit up the farmer's market to get enough green…
  • Oof. As an adult I finally outgrew my phobia of bees/wasps (mostly). I now love honeybees and the variety of native wasps and bees and pollinators around. But there is a special place in hell for yellowjackets.

  • @conniewilkins56 what did you all have for your birthday yesterday? I bet it was fabulous! Breakfast today was roasted red bell pepper and seitan chorizo cooked up over refried beans with a nice runny egg on top. Lunch I kind of skipped I think? I had planned on tuna, but it just didn't sound good. I had a glass of…
  • @bmeadows380 so jealous of your upcoming chickens!! If we could have them in town, I'd get some in a heartbeat. I even have their names picked out already...
  • Oof no kidding! Early days, late nights, weekends... not an easy career for 40 years! My husband worked retail at Target for a good 10 years until he just burned out on it. Now I have myself a house husband, so everyone wins
  • Miserable. I hope you get some sleep (first) and then some walks (only after sleep).
  • @conniewilkins56 and @Bella_Figura : re..tire...ment? What is this strange concept? How does one get to do that? Got myself out for a walk this morning! I have a nice 3 mile loop on the trails near my house. Heard the owl, but didn't go looking for him today (I was wearing shorts, it is a heavy deer tick season, and…
  • Welcome @HeyimAndi22 You're in the right place! So much great information in all of the threads - definitely worth reading through them (even/especially some older ones). College such an exciting and stressful and fun time - and there is plenty that makes it both harder and easier to lose weight! Small, easy, and…

Even with the vacations (where…
  • Happy birthday Connie!! Have a fun and food filled day!
  • Breakfast was some mini veggie frittatas, half an avocado, and 2 nectarines. Lunch was the end of the chaat salad. What to cook tonight? It is miserably hot, neither of us really have the energy to do anything. I think it shall be leftovers. Leftover beans and greens pasta, leftover mushroom pilaf, and maybe a side salad.
  • Haha laurie - we actually do have harnesses and leashes for them. And a little mesh kitty tent they get to use in the yard. Definitely don't them for twice a day walks though lol!
  • Ha, at least yours is exciting enough that you got to leave the house! Ignore cat slobbering on face - ignore cat nibbling on face - ignore cat chewing on face - give up and feed cats - breakfast - work - lunch - work - cook dinner - eat - read - bed.
  • I love pulling out freezer meals! So satisfying, so little effort!
  • Supper turned out pretty well! First I cooked up some red lentil pasta, and put a big tray of cherry tomatoes to roast in the oven (with about half an onion and a giant garlic clove). Then I sauteed up some onions, garlic, mustard greens, and cannellini beans. When the tomatoes were done, I put about 1/4 of them into the…

  • Yum...I've just started using some nutritional yeast. I have a bunch, but need to remember to actually use it! Do you put it in when cooking the eggs, or sprinkle it on top? I ended up making the chaat salad for dinner again last night...it was just so good. I've been so snacky though, I've eaten at maintenance the last…
  • I got some yard work done over the weekend, but not as much as I had hoped. Saturday was productive, but Sunday, I was just feeling sluggish and tired and it was so hot out. I spent the evening watering all of the plants and the poor redbud sapling on the boulevard. It has been so, so dry. @bmeadows380 - Getting into new…
  • Welcome @latinlil ! There is some great info and discussions here, and please jump in wherever you'd like! We often kind of talk out loud about what we're learning on the boards. I am an awful accountabilibuddy (so flaky), but am always happy to chat and talk things through!
  • Breaking the pizza trend. Yesterday wasn't great on the food front lol. I had some scones that my bff made (dark chocolate cherry almond), we stopped for fro-yo while out running errands, and I had leftover naan, pilaf, and curry for supper. I did work outside a bit, but probably not enough to offset all that lol. Today is…
  • How fun! My grandma used to take us all back to school shopping, and it was such a treat!
  • Dinner also now includes a wild mushroom garam masala pilaf. Not that I went overboard and now have enough food to feed 12 people...
  • Breakfast today was avocado toast with "just egg". Lunch is TBD, but will probably be a tuna salad sandwich. Best friend is coming over for dinner, and I'm cooking Indian food. An eggplant cherry tomato curry, a chaat salad, and naan (if I get my act together). Dessert will be grilled peaches on yogurt with a honey…
  • Connie, you're 2/3rds of the way to doing a triathlon!!
  • Ooooh peach blueberry crisp sounds amazing. What time do we eat??
  • Breakfast today was bell pepper, egg white and seitan chorizo scramble with avocado and homemade hot sauce. Lunch will be leftover lentils and chicken, with pb2 yogurt and an apple for a snack. For supper, husband is making venison burgers (for him) and black bean burgers (for me). I'll probably have a salad too for good…
  • We landed on thin sliced chicken breasts, lentils, roasted tomatoes, and roast zucchini. I had a bowl of HaloTop (caramel macchiato, the one flavor I really like) for dessert.
