  • Essentially replace the yogurt/milk with the same amount of your preferred yogurt/milk! Yogurt -* 0% Oikos greek yogurt - would work equally well. * 0% Yoplait sucralose sweetened - you may want to reduce the honey (to taste), as well as the milk (since yoplait isn't as thick as the greek yogurt). Maybe start with half the…
  • Greek yogurt fudgesicles Makes about 6 pops, 83 calories per pop. 1 cup plain Greek Yogurt (I used 2%) 3/4 C low-fat milk (I used skim) 6 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder 60 g honey 1 Tbsp cornstarch Blend everything together (I used an immersion blender), spoon into popsicle mold, freeze. You can leave out the cornstarch,…
  • Ah, good eye! The website calorie estimate includes the bun! I copied the ingredients from my recipe builder, where the bun is separate and missed that. It is a lot of food for very few calories! I'll add my calorie estimates to the next one
  • The lentil sloppy joes I've been having for lunch this week. They freeze really well! 1 tbsp, Olive Oil 1 medium, Green bell pepper 1 medium, Onion 1 cup, water 1 cup, Beef or vegetable broth/stock 3 clove, Garlic 0.25 cup, Ketchup 3 tbsp, Tomato Paste 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp, Brown Sugar 1 tsp, Spices, chili…
  • Breakfast today was chocolate PB2 yogurt dip with a big apple. Lunch is going to be lentil sloppy joe filling with avocado and egg whites. Dinner is going to be pesto (the basil is bolting, I have to cut it today) on a lentil pasta, with grilled chicken tenders and some steamed edamame.
  • My parent's dog liked a combination of frozen peanut butter, plain yogurt, with some banana pieces in it. Note, they did not make this for him, I did. I definitely did not spoil him one bit...
  • My current favorite salad: Baby spinach with lentils and roasted cauliflower and radishes. I want to make this today, but don't want to turn the oven on, so this might get pushed back a bit. 2 cups cauliflower 1 bunch radishes, quartered 3 tablespoons oil (I usually cut this down by at least half) 2 shallot, thinly sliced…
  • We had nice salads for supper. Mixed greens, soy ginger dressing, and baked portabella mushrooms topped with parmesan. A super ripe cantaloupe for dessert. A little low on protein today, but otherwise doing good, and sat fats nice and low
  • Welcome new members, we are so glad to have you! This is a friendly, supportive group rich with experience, good advice, and perspectives. I recommend jumping right into the conversation, as well as reading through the pinned posts and older forum posts (there's some great stuff in there!). @MargaretYakoda - Congrats on…
  • I don't know how you do it Connie. I literally factored weather in when choosing where to go to grad school. I was picking between New Orleans and DC. DC was (slightly) less hot and humid, so it won. Are you near a beach at all? I think that is the only way I could survive!
  • @denisemlarnder Don't sweat it! To gain 3 lbs of fat, you would have had to eat 3500*3=10,500 calories ABOVE maintenance, which would be darn near impossible, even if you had overeaten. It is just water weight, and probably some extra food in your digestive system. It'll all drop off in another few days, I promise!
  • @PAV8888 - I tried logging in Cronometer and you are right. It is so much better! I actually really love the smaller database. It is so much more useful, and so far I've found everything I need without any issue. I love seeing the complete nutrient information too. I'm doing the free version...in your opinion is there…
  • The end of my trip went off the rails, calorie-wise, but I did pretty well for the first half. (Birthday cake and ice cream, another birthday cake and ice cream, more ice cream, queso fundido with chorizo...) Now we're back and both craving just tons of fruit and veggies lol. When we got home at 11 last night, I had the…
  • We just got back home (mid-atlantic) last night. Woke up today to 91 degrees at 10 am, with 65% humidity. High of 98 tomorrow. Pretty sure I won't be leaving the house! My thick Minnesotan blood just cannot handle it.
  • Apparently we are having hot dogs tonight. I hate hot dogs. I have always hated hot dogs. I have hated them even more since the time I got sick after eating one and got to re-experience it every hour. Conveniently, my new lower-fat, less red meat diet just doesn't have room for them! Husband is going to the grocery store…
  • NOPE
  • Breakfast yesterday was a solid choice of plain, non-fat yogurt with strawberries and honey. Lunch was Subway, where I smartly chose a 6 inch sweet onion chicken teriyaki on wheat, with no cheese, and TONS of veggies. I also got some mini-cucumbers and hummus at the store to fill it out a bit more. But then at our extended…
  • Yesterday might have been the actual perfect summer day. Husband and I spent an hour or so snorkeling in the lake in the morning, and he caught a good size snapping turtle! After breakfast, we went to his brother's house for lunch, and also got to see his sister. We baked molasses cookies with my niece, then took her…
  • It is thanks to these forums that I discovered Quorn. Had never heard of it before! That stuff is good. Bonus, it is fast to cook up! Also, coffee and walnut cake sounds fabulous!
  • We've been having a great time at the lake so far. I've been slightly over maintenance calories each day, but I've also been more active than usual, so I'm not too worried. My brother-in-law's family is coming over today, which means I'll get to spend the entire day chasing around my favorite (and only!) niece, who is…
  • Well I survived the drive out here! I was a few hundred calories over maintenance, but all things considered, not too bad for 12 hours of driving! Yesterday I had some plain yogurt with fruit and honey for breakfast, a big turkey sandwich for lunch, and the whole family was over to grill for dinner. My husband bought me…
  • Breakfast was white beans in a tomato sauce with quorn meatballs. Lunch was a salad, snack was an apple with pb2-yogurt dip. Since we leave on our trip tomorrow, we don't want to mess up the kitchen. We'll go pick up sushi for dinner. I think I'll just get a salmon skin roll, some edamame, and maybe miso soup. That should…
  • Welcome, @Halfpint0112 ! You can absolutely do this. I also have looked at all my goals in 10 lb increments, with other milestones thrown in (dropping to a lower obesity category, milestone pounds lost, etc...) Essentially there is always some sort of milestone approaching, which makes it feel much more doable. Slow and…
  • I just picked up some snap peas! They are just my favorites (and I'm bummed I didn't get any planted in the garden this year). I ended up with some veggies (snap peas, red pepper, cucumber) and hummus (and a babaghanoush dip) and popcorn. We have a few lower cal chips as well (which we'll probably save for the drive back).…
  • Breakfast was avocado toast with Just Egg (pea protein fake egg that I can cook in the toaster...pretty good!) Lunch was 2 packets of tuna with some Greek yogurt, and a post-lunch snack of an apple, and yogurt-pb2 dip. Supper is going to be lentil sloppy joes with a side of green beans and maybe coleslaw. Husband suggested…
  • Just an example for anyone worried about water weight gains. I think we are all pretty solid on water weight here compared to threads in the main forum, but I certainly always appreciate the reminders. After my low weight of 204.5, I woke up at 208.8 this morning. Yesterday was my best friend's birthday, and I went a…
  • @conniewilkins56 just make sure you don't mix up the chocolate hummus and the black bean hummus!
  • Those are beautiful!! I love roses that with that sort of color gradient in them. It looks like a big flower too! I inherited a pretty pink rose with our house. It has bloomed every year, but every year something eats away at its leaves and I haven't been able to figure out what. I've been trying to fertilize it this year…
  • Haha, well, best friends birthday ended up with more food than I intended. We made up a beautiful cheese plate - feta, fresh mozzarella, and a truffle cheese, almonds, fresh apricots and apples, rhubarb jam, and pepper jelly. Then we maybe had some dumplings. Then we went out for ice cream. Then, stopped for dinner…
  • I had some beans and avocado toast for breakfast, plus too much dried mango. It was just so good...but those calories added up quickly. And yet, I'm still so hungry! So here I am, midday, with only 750 calories left. We're going over to best friend's house for her birthday, and will of course snack and cook up some sweets.…
