I need to track to lose. If I am not eating well, no amount of exercise will shift the weight.

I am having the same experience. I just purchased a Polar ft40. I was also wondering if both the gym equipement and Mfp are off. If I'm lucky, I can get around 250 calories for strength training and about 350 for cardio in 60 mins each. Now, I am still very overweight and clearly not as fit as I thought I was. When I…

I love to make a mock alfredo sauce to put over them with mushrooms. It does not have a taste of its own, but the texture is different. I do not eat them often but every now and then it really hits the spot. Be sure to following the instructions on package. Pick up a pack or two to try, they usually havea long expiration…

If they offer fitness classes, try everyone as soon as you can. I find the classes motivate me the most, to get to the gym.

Check out your neighborhood library. Borrow the fitness video's to see if you like them first. Then buy if you like it enough or continue to borrow to change up your workouts.

Start tracking your daily cholesterol intake. When I went low carb, I started eating a whole egg everyday and more lean meat, skipping whole grains and oatmeal (fiber). My LDL levels skyrocketed. 300mg is the daily allowance recommended for heart healthy people. Well one extra large egg yolk (210mg) and just 6ozs of…

Hungry Girl has a mock Alfredo recipe on her Site ( it might also be on the back of the package). Melt a laughing cow cheese wedge, add to noodles, then mix in some sour cream. I love to add sauteed mushrooms and black pepper. Makes a great low cal meal. To any new tasters , be sure to follow directions on package- rinse…

The same thing is happening to me as well. Hypo for forever ( I have been on the same dose for over 10 years.) and now Hyper. I have Hashimoto's & PCOS. I have also lost 50 pounds and am eating a more healthy diet. My meds have been reduced twice now. Checking every two months. I too, had acute hair loss, but otherwise…

I can weigh in a whole pound higher if I get on the scale with a certain pair of jeans. I make the same mistake all the time. I think weighing in first thing wearing the same clothes or nothing at all, will be the best indicator of true weight loss. I also fluctuate from morning to night , day to day , for any number of…

Good for you, I wish you the very best with your success. I believe cold turkey is the best way to go, I used fragrance when my will power started to fail. Smell something nice, dab on some perfume . Driving and that first cup of coffee were the worst time for me. Just stick it out , you may actually feel so much better.…

Take a Zumba class if offered. No skill required, just lots of fun. You will have fun and hopefully make some friends . The class is very social , and it has been so motivating for me to get to the gym and try new things. Any class you take is like having a personal trainer right beside you. Everything can be modified to…

I have been Hypothyroid for many years and fat all my life. I recently had great success following the New Atkins diet. It is a low carbohydrate diet, eating mostly foundation Vegetables and some lean protein. (FREE online program) Read up on it, and adapt it to fit your needs if you do not totally agree with its…

If you have access to your local library, you can borrow any number of exercise videos . I would start there and try the free DVD's. I totally love Zumba, kickboxing and Leslie Sansone walk at home video's. If your lucky and have a game system ( wii/xbox) you can sometimes borrow fitness games - my favorite again is Zumba…
