http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance/five_habits_of_defective_squatters Here is a good article to help with squatting.

I saw a guy do that today, when he went to do squats. I've heard running shoes put your feet at the wrong angle, and you should have flat soles when you do lifts like squats. I figured that was why he took off his shoes.

I go to the gym, and cook my own food.

I've never dared to do Goodmornings. I'm always afraid I will round my back, and screw something up. The squat racks at my gym are set up to where you can look straight forward, but not face sideways to check your form. I guess I could start out with the small barbells that people use for arm curls, but I like deadlifts,…

My ex-wife did weight watchers, and lost around 180 lbs. The problem was, that if she missed a few weeks, she still had to pay for those weeks she missed. Eventually she quit going because of the money she would have owed to get back into it. That became, kind of, a de-motivator.

If I want pizza, I want pizza. I don't understand taco pizza, or cheeseburger pizza, or bbq chicken pizza. If I want a cheeseburger, I will get a cheeseburger. Not a pizza that is supposed to taste like a cheeseburger. Same with the others, although since I've been dieting, I will eat homemade bbq chicken pizza. I also…

If I was using poor form, I would love to have someone point it out to me. But When I see people using improper form, I usually just look at them with a confused look on my face. Still being somewhat of a novice, but having read about things like 21s, drop sets, half reps, kipping, etc. I don't know if that poor form is…

The articles I've read state the opposite. Oatmeal is at 55 on the glycemic index. I believe that to be in the medium range.
this might sound stupid but whats pb2?
I've never tried it, but from what I understand, It is a lower calorie alternative to peanut butter. Personally I like to use natural peanut butter to help me get my "healthy fats" in.

I had a similar build about 5 years ago. I did mine through cutting, though. He looks like he has a lean mass of around 140 lbs, if his height is similar to mine.

I'm at about 5'8". The first time I went from 215 to 153. This time I started at 226, and am at about 190, right now. I did have loose skin on my stomach. I've heard if you are young, it has a better chance of shrinking, but as you age, skin loses its elasticity. I've got some of my pics on my profile.

Start out light, and use a lifting belt until you are comfortable with your form. Watch some videos on how to do them, and how not to do them.

I'd like to hear what others have to say, but I would skip the ab work, focus on compound lifts, like deadlifts, squats, bench, and barbell rows, where you can lift some serious weight. All these lifts will work your core good enough for bulking, and you will lose definition in a bulk anyway. You may want to check out…

Rather than trying to figure caloric burn for daily activities, if you think your foot twitching, cleaning, working, and other activities put you in another category, put yourself as lightly active, instead of sedentary, or whatever you are at. Going over on calories every once in a while is fine. Tweaking your numbers to…

I believe it is a one time savings for a year.

Unfortunately, my employer is using it as our insurance premium guideline. Which means for me to get to the best premium, I will need to get to 164 Lbs. The nutritionist I talked to, told me that was an unrealistic goal with my lean mass. I can choose to do a body fat test that will give me an adjusted BMI, but I don't…

For 30 minutes of cardio it doesn't really matter. I like to do my cardio fasted, but that is just my preference. If you feel you need energy try some carbs. For extended cardio sessions, I would recommend a good dose of carbohydrates about an hour before your workout, but a half hour is usually doable in a fasted state.

As far as fast food goes, you can always get grilled chicken, If you are looking for cheap, a junior sized hamburger is usually one of the cheapest things on the menu, and if you get it with water instead of soda, and fries, will be just fine for losing weight. I always preferred going to the gym alone. Other people…

My ex- wife went from about 380 to around 200 lbs. about 5 years ago. The only reason she didn't lose more is because she decided she wanted to sow some wild oats, and started eating, and drinking things that were detrimental to her progress. It is possible.

I like to switch up my oatmeal by adding different things to it. Chocolate protein, and peanut butter, one day; Peaches, cinnamon, and walnuts another; cherries, and cinnamon; applesauce, cottage cheese, and cinnamon; etc. Kashi cereal isn't too bad, or Bran flakes. Personally, I like to make a bunch of high protein…

Thanks for the replies. I am taking creatine, and protein, but until January 31, when I decide to try a bulk phase, I don't know how much it will help, due to my caloric deficit. I have heard creatine helps with strength gains, as well, though, which should help my development. I've heard that ZMA is supposed to help with…

Regular oatmeal only takes 3 minutes in a microwave. Yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit, protein shakes, nuts.

Sometimes, for me it is easier to skip breakfast if I want a larger meal later. Sometimes eating something light will make me hungry sooner than I'd like. I have done a vanilla protein powder mixed with 16 oz of water, and a packet of crystal light citrus energy for about 150 calories, and sometimes it has worked okay.

I was wondering the same basic thing. I talked to a nutritionist about my goals a couple of weeks ago, and she told me that it is hard to gain muscle mass at my age. (43) I would love to be the weight I am now with single digit body fat, but that would mean gaining about 20 to 30 lbs of muscle. Is it possible to gain lean…

Damn!! I'm usually in bed by 8 when I have to get up by 3. I'd die if I got any less sleep than I do.

I like to go when I wake up. On a day off it will be around 8, or 9 AM. On a day shift it will be at about 3 AM, and on a night shift it will be around 1 PM.

As far as affordability goes, you can usually find equipment for pretty cheap from second hand stores, or private sellers on places like craigslist. I bought some cheap weights from Walmart for somewhere between $20 to $40, and a cheap bench from Target for dumbbell work about 5 years ago. I was able to find extra weights…

When my youngest son was born, their grandmother bought his older brothers toy dolls. I didn't have a problem with it. They turned out normal, (as normal as my children could hope to turn out, anyway.) I have heard that kids who have issues with their sexual identities as adults, preferred "girl toys" as children, but a…

Breakfast is your first meal of the day. It doesn't matter if it is at 6 AM, or 8 PM. As long as you reach your macros, you should be fine.

Most people won't let me know they are waiting for the machine I'm using. If I want to do a certain workout, I will usually do something else as a back up if the equipment I need is occupied. If someone lets me know they want to use the same equipment I am, I will let them work in.
