  • I'm hoping you are right, because that is what I'm hoping to accomplish as well. I still have about 10 more pounds until I am at my goal weight, so I changed myself to 1/2 lb/week hoping I can at least maintain muscle mass. I think I will shoot for a range of 165 to 180. on maintenance, either bulking, or cutting.
  • I believe it is called, Morton salt substitute. I found it in the spice section, next to the table salt.
  • I use a salt substitute that has potassium instead of sodium.
  • I stay under some days. A lot of it does depend on the amount of fruits that I eat that day.
  • Someone posted a recipe for enchilada sauce the other day in one of the forums. It would be low in sodium. Maybe you can look for it.
  • Ab work is not nesecarry to get rid of fat. It is all in proper diet, and maintaining a caloric deficit. Your core gets worked in most every exercise.
  • Theoretically, as long as you are in a caloric deficit, you should lose weight, as long as you are tracking, and measuring correctly. 1/2 lb. Per week, at your weight now would probably be your best bet.
  • I got the same one. It works ok. It reads with a chest strap, or if you don't wear one, you can put your fingers on the watch to do a reading. I do that doing weight training workouts during my rest time between sets.
  • Staying in your calorie range is the most important thing you can do. If you find you are struggling to lose weight, or lack energy in your workouts, You may want to tweak your ratios to see if that will help. Some people can do with less carbs than others, and it helps them to go with a higher protein diet. Go with what…

  • Your numbers only add up to 82%. Did you mean 20% fat? It all depends on how you are working out. If you are doing a lot of cardio, your numbers are fine. If you are doing a good amount of strenght training, I would recommend upping your protein a little. My current ratios are 40/40/20. It has worked great for me.

  • Check out this article. http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/most_recent/lose_fat_stay_strong
  • I've got a bench, adjustable dumbbells, ez bar, pullup bar, resistance bands, and a punching bag, but I do most of my workouts at the gym. I don't have enough weight for some lifts, and my ceiling is only 7ft. which makes it hard to do anything over my head.
  • I do Hiit on the elliptical, and usually burn around 400 to 500 calories in 30 minutes. I would prefer to start out with strength training, so I don't wear myself out on cardio before I get to do my weights, but you can do it that way if you want. The heavier you can lift, the greater benefit you will recieve from your…
  • I've read conflicting theories on carbs at night. Some people say to eat according to your activity, and since you don't need energy to go to be, you don't need carbs. Others say it doesn't matter when you eat them, it is all calories in vs calories out. I think it all depends on the individual, and how their body works.…
  • I've got a punching bag where my dining room table is supposed to be. It's much more useful than a table would be.
  • I would recommend working your entire body, especially your legs. Legs are your biggest muscle, as your body is repairing your muscles, it is burning a lot more calories, speeding your metabolism, and helping to get you that "toned" look. Don't get intimidated by the men in the squat rack. Squats are an awesome workout for…
  • Your body doesn't always take from fat stores for energy. If you do a lot of cardio, without sufficient fuel it will eventually start taking from the muscle. Since on this site, we are supposed to eat our exercise calories, working out for a caloric deficit does very little to help you, in fact it can slow your metabolism…
  • If you've been starving yourself a little weight gain is to be expected. Your body is having to adjust to the extra calories, and it will want to store them. It should take a couple of weeks, but then it will realize it doesn't need to store anymore, and your metabolism should then increase helping you to melt it off…

  • I get depression every once in a while. I tried antidepressants a little, but never found one that worked. It took seperating from my wife to make the severe depression go away, since she was the main cause of my depression. I still get depressed here, and there, but not as bad as I used to. After looking at some info on…
  • When I had a treadmill at home, I used to play video games. Road rash was awesome on the treadmill, but I couldn't run. I also did Wii running on the treadmill since I hate running in place. It worked pretty good. Now I usually just do HIIT on the treadmill. 20 to 30 minutes isn't that long, and I can burn alot of calories…
  • Molten lava cake 1 egg white 1 heaping scoop chocolate protein powder 1 tbsp cocoa powder sweetener to taste( 1 packet should be enough) dash baking powder less than 1/8 cup water mix ingredients adding only little bit of water at a time until it is the consistency of cake batter. Microwave for 25 to 35 seconds. Should…

  • I saw one at costco today. I don't know how well it works though. It doesn't use a chest strap. I can't remember the name.
  • I have to switch between both. My girlfriend talks to me on facebook. I usually spend more time here though.
  • I usually avoid doing any strength training on sore muscles, but cardio exercises are usually ok. Walking may be painful, but it will actually help work the soreness out. As your body gets used to exercise the soreness usually doesn't get as bad, and doesn't last quite as long.
  • Fat free whipped cream on my sweet meals.
  • Does this mean we can finally get out of Afghanistan?
  • 17% body fat? You should be pretty ripped at 17%. Most body builders say to aim for 1 to 2 grams of protein per pound of lean body mass. You should have your calories set at near maintenance at this point to preserve muscle mass.
  • When I followed body for life back in 2007, I didn't count a single calorie. I just followed the plan of eating a serving of lean protein, and a serving of healthy carbs, five to six times a day with at least 2 servings of vegetables a day. Exercised 6 days a week, and lost 40 lbs in 6 months. You don't need to count…
