I noticed you have a goal to run a mile. You should check out Couch to 5K (C25k). I never could run before and now I am running 4 miles! :)

Girl Talk is great! There isn't a break in music between songs... so I never know how long I've been working out. It helps me not think about time.

Try some ab workouts. Jullian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD includes cardio, strength, and abs. It's some good stuff!

I'm not on the slim fast diet, but I drink a slim fast shake on my way to work every morning. That way I don't have to "make" anything for breakfast, it's full of vitamins, and it easily fills me up till my mid-morning snack. It's worked well for me!

I too get discouraged if I don't see my weight lower. I only weigh myself the first of every month. Don't know if this is the best way to do it, but its what works for me. That way I will be sure to see some kind of progress and I don't get too obsessed or discouraged. To weigh myself I use my Wii Fit Plus.
