  • I don't eat a ton of salads (for the reasons @garber6th mentioned), but sometimes I do crave those fresh/raw veggies. When I do have one it usually comes from the salad bar at the grocery store by my office. That bar makes it easy for me to add a hard boiled egg, some chicken or some salmon so that I get good protein. It…
  • @healthybabs - just checking in to see how you've done this past month.
  • Welcome @ChinnytoSkinny. There are plenty of newbies here along with veteran VSGers. My surgery was just 12/12/16. I've learned a lot from the threads in this group.
  • @Bekah7482 - You're kicking butt!

  • WTG!
  • @AllisonMart - Looking good all around and your hair is amazing!
  • I must have used muscles that haven't seen any action in years. I'm two days out from the workout and I'm so stiff and sore. I'm supposed to go back and do it again tomorrow. Here's hoping I can move tomorrow.
  • I use this recipe for Petite Turkey Meatloaves as a jumping off point for my weekday lunches. I follow the recipe instructions, but I typically use ground beef instead of turkey and I add a cup of shredded zucchini and 2 cups of shredded spinach. That increases the yield from 4 loaves to 8. I've made this recipe the past…
  • I survived. It was intense and I couldn't do all the moves, but I tried hard and moved the whole time. I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow, but for now I'm proud of me.
  • @Elyseinchi - I'm not that far ahead of you (my surgery was two months ago). I remember having the same experience just a few weeks out and being very discouraged. I lost almost nothing weeks three and five out from surgery. The stalls (particularly the first one so early on) are disheartening, but keep doing what you're…
  • @NicoleL874 - thanks for the strategy tips.
  • Good point.
  • Today, for the first time, a person who does not know I had surgery commented that she could tell I've been losing weight. People have commented before, but each of them knew about my surgery.
  • Feel free to add me. https://www.fitbit.com/user/2YWLBG
  • I use the Naturemade 1000 mcg sublinguals. You can subscribe to them on Amazon so a bottle shows up every month.
  • Sending good vibes today. Good luck!
  • Hi all - I'm excited to have stumbled onto this group. I had my surgery on 12/12/16. My high weight was 293.5 and is currently 252. I lost 14 pounds during my pre-op diet and 27.5 since (41.5 total). At times it feels like the weight is just dropping off and at others it feels like really slow going. I notice differences…
  • Monday and Friday. I like to bookend the weekend to keep me accountable. When I only check my weight once a week I get the idea that I can "cheat" a little early on in the week and then make up for it later. It's all mind games, but hoping on the scale before and after the weekend seems to work for me.
  • I'd like some strategies for this too. It's usually natural sugars putting me over, but it stinks to see those numbers go into the red. Any thoughts?
  • It is a little disheartening to think of tracking for the rest of forever, but I've come to terms with the fact that it is a must for me. Healthy eating isn't a natural instinct/habit that I developed in my childhood, so it's something I have to work at now. If you can develop new habits and you can do this without…
  • You're not alone. In the past I have had all the same behaviors as you describe. I'll be doing great, then I'll let myself slip and before I know it I've given up completely. I've done a few things differently to cope this time around. 1. My food journal is open for my friends to see and I've made a promise to myself that…
  • You're right. Your hard work is showing. Keep it up.
  • Thanks for posting. It's awesome to see that it can be done. I hope you bought that cute skirt!
