  • My understanding is that everything you can do at home is an extremely inaccurate way to measure BF%. The scale is giving same results, though I don't look at that as often. What would you recommend?
  • I have been doing 1,200 net (I wear a body media fit arm band and always eat back my exercise calories). SW 224 and CW 200, it's been about 15 weeks. I measure my body fat % with the navy method, and per that my loss has been almost all fat. If I'm not hungry, tired, and per the measuring tape I'm losing fat and not muscle…
  • I have been at 1,200 for a while. I don't really focus on eating protein to keep me full, though I eat a lot of it otherwise. Yes, I eat back calories. I use a body media armband to track and always eat back calories for the week, though not necessarily daily, and usually end up over for the week. I did get headaches, but…
  • It's both. I log my food strictly on MFP but it loads to the body media activity manager. Each time I sync my armband it also logs a line item for body media calories burned for the difference between my estimated total per MFP and estimated total per body media on MFP. Personally, I only use the armband to feel like I'm…
  • Congrats on your weight loss so far! And, mmmm pizza. I had a SW of 229 as well at 5'7" and am down to 199 today. The idea of "dieting" always freaked me out because I could never imagine never having all of the awesome but terrible for me food but have been doing well at still having it, just not allllllllll the time.…
  • I did it!!!!!! It took all day but I did it.
  • I will try, but this could be ugly : (
  • Done! 10 batches of 40! : ) Looked at my arm band and it's at least another 150 calories today, woot!
  • I didn't measure while my family was in town and then got sick and gained. Within a week of being back in the swing it fell back off. I know for me it was a lot of water weight from eating what I shouldn't as well as not drinking enough water.
  • Update: This is going to significantly help make sure I reach my water intake for today, lol.
  • In the same boat, not only did my husband lose his quickly but didn't have as much to lose so already looks fantastic. It's a bit disheartening, but I use it as motivation and also remind myself how lucky I am to have a spouse that's working to get better as well. There are many who post on here who unfortunately have…
  • I have been at 1,200 for a while and it's been working well for me and I'm 5'7 at 203. You definitely should eat any exercise calories back so that your net is 1,200 or whatever your goal is.
  • I think that's too low considering you're breastfeeding and an active stay at home mom. Remember that exercise calories should be added to the net that MFP gives you. For example, mine's at 1,200/day for sedentary but I usually eat about 1,500/day average and burn the 300 difference. Also, many many many people have told…
  • I've used it for running and cycling and it seems to be pretty accurate so far. I use a body media arm band as well and I've compared the two but not a heart rate monitor (my heart rate monitor was apparently lying to me).
  • Mine reduced to 1,200 and has stopped there, it won't go lower than 1,200. However, at 224 and a sedentary activity level this would be 1.9 lbs/week for me (5'6"). At 214 it drops to 1.8, 206 1.7, etc. It's also important to note that I've lost more than that though. 6 weeks with an average of 2.5/week. I've logged…
  • It's probably just your scale. I weigh myself daily and would have problems with this. I used to weigh myself multiple times until I got the same result. Then I bought another scale. Then I found in the forums that some scales have a "memory" so that it will show the same result in a short period if within a certain…
  • I bought an arm band and I know for me at least days I go shopping tend to add a few hundred calories. It's not high intensity but my weekly loss is consistently more than my goal so I'd say it counts. Just don't over estimate it.
  • I have started looking at the weekly total more often and rather than trying to limit that day or days. I put in what I'm going to have that day early in the week. Then I eat at a deficit during the week so that end of day Saturday I'm even for the week. The weekly report on the android app shows the average daily for a…
  • Congrats! A wedding picture started it for me, too. I wish I'd kept it now for pictures later but I donated it last time I went through my closet.
  • I've been weighing myself every day for the past 4 weeks. I've seen it up and down, but it's down more often than it's up as long as I'm sticking to my routine. As was said, I don't think it's bad for you as long as you're taking from it what you should and don't let the increases freak you out. This is my second time…
  • Soooo WebMD says 1,100, lol. I'm not only eating 1,200 calories, MFP recommends a net of 1,200, and I'm netting about 1,400 daily based on the weekly chart. As far as being happy with that, no. BUT, I would describe my "happy" eating habits as what got me here in the first place, lol. I would say though that I feel…
  • Not cheesy at all! Congrats!
  • Hahah, yes, the ww is the one I have now that fluctuates within seconds, and after reading several reviews last night came to the conclusion that I'd go ahead and buy an EatSmart one as well, though mine was $38. Glad to see another endorsement this morning.
  • I also weigh myself daily and get really irritated by this. I usually weigh myself until I get the same result twice back to back. Mostly that means weighing myself twice. Sometimes it means weighing myself seven times and wanting to destroy the scale, lol. I'm actually planning on spending some time online to see if there…
