I started off only counting calories, and was losing weight. I exercised if I wanted to eat more and that's it. I've lost about 33kgs since I started and as I've lost I've started exercising more (walking mostly) but the difference is, because of the weight loss, it's not as difficult, and I'm starting to enjoy it. I usually need a kick up the butt but oddly haven't for the past 6 months. I have a crazy 72kgs to lost (50kg now!) so I get where you coming from. Stick with it! It works!
