Last time I went on this journey I had a husband who shoved (literally) cookies in my mouth. That is extreme, but I have talked to others who their hubys seems to be sabotaging their weight loss. Not sure why it happens. I know how hard it is for me, because honestly I have a food addiction. Especially in the form of…

Congratz! That is awesome! Yes once a diabetic always a diabetic or at least prone to relapse. Since Fat cells feed on insulin cells in our blood which is the cause of diabetes for most T2 diabetics, it is possible to go into a sort of "remission" for lack of better word. If you lose the weight and remain in a healthy…

A lot of great information here. I have given up pasta, breads and sugar. I have learned to do some cooking with flax (only grain I know of with as much fiber as it has carbs) Cravings get hectic this time of year. When my sugar spikes (can happen from stress as much as from food) I get on an exercise machine for 40 min…

That is a slippery slope I have been on so many times. I cannot stress how important it is to track. If you do any one thing it should be tracking your food.

I need to get healthy so I can someday meet and see my grand kids graduate. (no grandchildren yet but you get the point) My…

My mom sends cookies, cake or pie with the kids (or did in the past when the kids were living at home). Funny thing is it is usually when I begin to lose. Yesterday just after I told her about this site, she offered me pie. "It's sugar free and fat free" Not calorie or carb free however. I declined came home and made some…

Your posts made me laugh. I am 40 in 3 days does that count? I am 264 now, so far have lost 45 pounds before finding MFP, my goal is 165.

Since I go low carb for Thanksgiving i brought over a low carb/sugar free desert and cauliflower mashed potatoes (because mashed potatoes are a weakness! ) I ate more meat and loaded up on veggies. I felt satisfied even though I skipped the stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, baked corn, ect. I ate broccoli and…

If i eat carbs I also get intense cravings for them, sometimes for a full week. I have found just not eating anything with alot of carbs or sugars is easier for me. It has gotten a lot easier since the kids moved out on their own, my s/o is not a sweets eater (thank God) so we just keep it all out of the house. This is a…
